Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner is advising the White House not to put Elizabeth Warren in charge of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — a watchdog agency she invented!
Can you sign our urgent petition to the President?
PETITION TO PRESIDENT OBAMA: Elizabeth Warren has proven that she is willing to stand up to Wall Street on behalf of consumers and is the logical choice to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Tim Geithner is a longtime Wall Street insider, and if he’s recommending against Elizabeth Warren that’s all the more reason to appoint her.

Thanks TomCat. I can never trust Obama as long as he embaces Wall Street insiders like Geithner, Summers, etc. While I appreciate what he has done, I’m afraid he is less a Democrat and more a corporatist because of his team. The modern US President is no longer the chief executive of a branch of a government of the people. He is a glorified company co-manager of a corporatocracy.

Dave, Geithner, Bernanke and Summers are the three worst advisors he has.
Hey TC, I got that email and signed it right away!
Bravo!
I signed it. Thanks for posting this.
Thanks, and you’re welcome, Tom.
Signed, sealed, delivered…
Thanks
Done!
This blog posting is doubly fabulous. First, it addresses important issues. Second, it includes an Action Alert which I think liberal bloggers should be doing more often.
Thanks, Lib. I do so fairly regularly, when I find issues both immediate and compelling.
Of course I signed It.
Once again Obama is pissing me off.
Tim, Obama isn’t the bad guy here, at least not yet. I’m sure he will not ,make the appointment before he signs the bill into law this week. Geithner is the one lobbying against her.
