Sharron Angle Tastes Her Foot

In a delightful development, Sharron “obtuse” Angle demonstrated that she can fit her whole foot in her mouth, right up to the ankle.

19Angle …When Angle returned from Washington and held an event to greet supporters yesterday in Las Vegas, she was approached by reporter Nathan Baca of CBS affiliate 8 News Now.

When Baca, citing Angle’s website, asked why she wants "to eliminate (Social Security) for younger folks, because your plan calls for transitioning out," she accused him of believing "the Harry Reid lie" and said she wants to shift the program to personalized Social Security accounts that the government can’t touch.

Then things started to get pretty tense.

Baca said the 2008 stock market crash would have meant millions of seniors having their savings wiped out under Angle’s plan; she replied that he is "putting words into my mouth from Harry Reid" and that she is trying to save Social Security.

When he asked why she wants to eliminate the EPA despite the Gulf oil leak, she said, "Where are you getting these questions? The issues are not about the EPA… The issues are homes here in Nevada… He is trying to make this a campaign about me. But, where’s Harry? Go ask Harry… Please go ask Harry about the EPA, and why they have failed."

She went on to say the EPA has "failed to do what they needed to do in the Gulf."

Angle then ignored a question about her website once advocating U.S. withdrawal from the United Nations and refused to look at Baca as he asked her repeatedly about her "Second Amendment remedies" comment as she walked in the parking lot after the event. The video is above.

According to Baca, Angle’s campaign responded to the exchange by calling him "an idiot" as well as another term that can’t be repeated on television. [emphasis added]

Wack-a-doodle-do!

As damning as this description is, it takes video to fully expose Angle’s deranged desperation.  Fortunately Lawrence O’Donnell provides it and a discussion with David Weigel.

Was that a deer in the headlights look, or what?

Perhaps Angle should take Dick “GOP” Armee’s advice and deny her Teabagger association.  Perhaps she should deny her Scientology association… and her Bircher association… and her Independent American Party association.  Would anyone, other than the Faux Noise set, believe her?

And I thought we were going to have fun with the chicken lady!! 😀

One more thing, MSNBC seems to have picked up on “obtuse”.  Since great minds often fall in the same ditch, I seriously doubt that they swiped it from me, although they would be welcome.  But remember, you saw it here first.

  1. Just what we need: another crazy Michele Bachmann/Sarah Palin-type who creates her own delusional world and then tries to shove it onto all of us.Arrogant, too: just like Palin, she hand picks her interview venues to ensure they will always be favorable and easy. That’s Dishonesty 101. C’mon, Nevada – you’re better than this. Sharon Angle is a fruitcake we in the rest of the country want no part of.

  2. You know, not to go all conspiracy theory, but I am really starting to wonder if this crazy woman is a plant. (given her conversation skills, maybe literally, as well)
Seriously, I wonder if she is some kind of dupe being used a weather balloon by the RNC. She does not even understand half of the stuff that she stands claims to stand for in her speeches. When confronted with anything, her answers are disjointed and confused, like her rote memorization has failed her. And she looks like even more of a Stepford wife than Laura Bush. (That smile is too big and downright creepy. Like she is going to pull out a Desert Eagle and see if she is brought down before the clip is out, just because)
She has been affiliated with more right wing groups in the past, the GOP is looking to get some kind of handle on the Tea Party, why not a patsy that is way more ambitious than she is intelligent? Not to mention, the GOP can get some ‘street cred’ for throwing some like this out there (and under the bus)

    Just a thought.

    • Interesting idea, Otis. I suppose it’s possible, but the GOP wanted Reid’s arse bad! Lowden was a more credible candidate. Until she went poultry, she might have beaten him.

    • I can believe the GOP allowing a candidate like this to win for the purpose of reigning in the Tea Party. I can also picture them having this candidate lose for one particular reason – they need the big bad bogeyman Harry Reid to remain in power.

Just consider Angle’s responses – all she talked about was Harry Reid. If Reid lost, the conservatives would have to build up a case against someone else. With Reid winning, they can continue playing the victim card at the hands of a Reid-led Senate…

      • Kevin, that could be. But for over a year Reid was so badly manipulated by the Republicans, that I called him the “Nevada Leg Hound”, because he spent more time humping the GOP leg than pursuing Democratic policies. Only in the last few months has he shown any spine. Is it real, or or is it exectorex?

        • Wouldn’t that be perfect then? Your “Nevada Leg Hound” is the perfect moniker –

The Republicans can continue using him to blame AND he will constantly betray his party to pursue the GOP votes.

  3. TomCat; you never write a boring or incorrect post. This one was great!

  4. The really scary thing is that there are a lot of people who will vote for her. Good example, look at the number of votes the other whack job Orly Taitze got in CA. No matter how off the wall some of these people are, there are always others who will agree with them and vote for them.

    • Charles, there are two types that will vote for them. Those who actually agree with her ideas (very few) and thoise who watch Faux Noise, who have no idea what she really repersents (the rest). They just say Ba-a-a-a-a-a.

  5. She can’t avoid the media outside Faux news forever. And at some point, there’s gonna be a debate between her and Harry – I can’t wait for that. He’s gonna mop the floor with her.

    • Among Senate Democrats, few are weaker debaters than Harry Reid. That said, you’re right. He’ll mop the floor with her.

  6. I live in Nevada and the problem with Lowden (and her husband) is they are so well-known for their wealth; their ownership in casinos – their polices that have created a myriad of disgruntled employees (current and former), that it was almost the lesser of two evils.

I even heard one woman say she voted for Angle only to vote against Lowden. Local television also interviewed many voters and many gave a similar reason for voting for Angle.

I also feel Otis is very much on the mark on this one; definitely a ‘plant’ and probably Harry Reid even crossed her palms since Lowden and her husband are multi-millionaires and they don’t need the $$$ as much.

As one of your readers commented, she’s like having a Sarah Palin in our state. It makes you wonder about the wisdom and intelligence of the voters in our state as well………….

    • Diane, while this does not make Angle a plant, I know Harry wanted to run against her, not Chickie-Chickie. He ran campaign adds attacking Louden, a most irregular move during the primary. It will only impugn the wisdom of the voters in Nevada is Angle gets more that 25% in the general.

  7. This video was very interesting. Great post!

This woman was ridiculous. Talk about avoiding the question! She attacked the local media for asking some good questions (and I’m happy they actually cited her own website as a source) and then she tried so hard to evade the answer. I particularly loved her response regarding the EPA – she tried to deflect the question by talking about homes in Nevada but she probably didn’t realize that she was guilty of what she attacked the reporter of doing – every answer out of her mouth was Harry this and Harry that…

I can’t wait to see her lose.

  8. I saw the video, she made an utter fool of herself. Even with her foot in the way you could still see the incompetence written all over her face! She will turn out to be more fun to watch than chicken lady. I can’t wait to see the debates with Harry! Come on Harry, you can do it!!

Actually I thought she gave herself the obtuse phrase and her campaign signs show the angle too! lol

    • Sue, I’m no Harry Reid fan. After years of caving in to the GOP, I question whether his recent show of spine will survive past the election. I want him replaced as Majority Leader with a stronger Democrat. That said, give her the business, Harry!

  9. This woman is such an idiot! Someone from Newsweek was on CNN yesterday saying she was pretty much ‘done’ as now people are figuring out a) she’s an incompetent moron and b) she’s a member of all these extreme right-wing fringe groups. Nobody who’s rational and sane would vote for her at this point, IMO.
