I have to keep reminding myself that he’s not going to get the nomination, no matter how much I’d like to see him on in the White House. But isn’t Bernie Sanderd doing a wonderful job of keeping middle class issues front and center?
Sen. Bernie Sanders laid into the Republicans and their calls to raise the retirement age and means test Social Security on Wolf Blitzer’s show this Thursday…
…Unlike the GOP, Sanders actually has a plan to keep it solvent that doesn’t involve asking Americans to work until they drop dead…
…Bernie Sanders wants wealthy to pay for Social Security expansion:

As long as he keeps this up, his campaign is worth supporting! Thank you, Bernie!

If enough people get to know Bernie, how could the majority NOT be for him? He has actual plans and ideas, not just a bunch of negative crapola like the GOP. Wouldn't it be great if he was the tortoise in the hare and tortoise race?
Well I for two thinks he's doing a wonderful job. The nomination he may not but like Sanders said himself "Don't count me out". I for one will not. I know Clinton is on top and by far ahead but she shouldn't or I will not count the chickens until the time Nov 4,2016. After all Biden may still run and I would love to see him win. Biden is a wonderful and honest Man and he also will fight for the middle class. So will Clinton. But it is Clinton who will get run thro the mud more than any other candidate running. I also think she or Biden have a strong change of getting the nomination
I might just point out that you say he says to "protect" Social Security. That is of course true as far as it goes, but what he really wants to do is "expand" Social Security. That would be why he is the candidate of choice for "Social Security Works," a group headed by Michael Phelan formed specifically to push expanding Social Security.
I never thought of Biden running, mamabear! That would be an excellent idea! But Sanders has a great platform! And Hillary has the money. It’s a toss-up as to who’s gonna win.
More power to Bermie!
I used to think Bernie had no chance, but he is pulling in bigger crowds and better publicity than Obama was at this point in time 8 years ago.
I think he has a good chance! It's amazing!
Bernie's chances are looking better every day. We need to share this on our Social networks and raise awareness of what he is trying to do. He is the best bet for the poor and middle class.
We have similar issues with Canada Pension and Harper's Harlots are tinkering away raising the retirement age to 67 years (I am not affected but people who are now 56 will be affected) and proposing changes to the funding formula. Like the US, we have an income cap on contributions but our cap is much lower . . . in the neighbourhood of $55K per year. Just raising the cap, or better still getting rid of it would help immensely.
As I have said a number of times, if you Yanks don't want Bernie as POTUS, we in Canada will take him! He'd make a great Canadian Prime Minister even with his funny accent, following in the footsteps of Tommy Douglas, the father of universal healthcare, of the old CCF party (NDP).
Go Bernie!!!
TY TC – I adore Bernie Sanders, may God bless and protect him forever!
You're quite right, TomCat, although many would like to see him as a president, Bernie Sanders won't get the nomination. I do hope he returns to the senate if he doesn't, because Congress can't lose the few progressive men and women it has there, If America votes for another Democratic president, Democrats shouldn't forget to honor Bernie for making that possible. He pushed other Democrats back to the middle and perhaps some even left, won't play Republican games and has the fantastic skill to get his "socialist" message across no matter who is interviews him or who is debating him. He refuses to be worn down by idiocy or sidetracked from issues that matter. When he finally steps out of the race, he should be given a medal for serving his country so well.
There is a lot on the line in 2016 and together we can ensure the country hears us loud and clear: Expand, don’t cut Social Security!
With nine declared Republicans running for President, the field of candidates calling for deep cuts to earned benefits continues to grow.
Jeb Bush wants to raise the retirement age. Chris Christie wants to means test, raise the retirement age and cut disability insurance. Scott Walker is throwing around the word “bankrupt.” And Ted Cruz pines for the good ‘ol days when George W. Bush tried to privatize Social Security.
Stand with Social Security Works in pledging to vote against any candidate who would cut our hard earned Social Security and Medicare benefits.

Thanks all. I'd love to see Bernie exceed my expectations. But don't forget, Bernie isn't history's first Democratic Socialist. The most famous before him was cricufied between two thieves.
And that was in fact better company than most politicians are stuck with.
