Edie first showed up at Politics Plus a little over a year ago, and she became an instant regular, commenting on almost every article. This her second Big Mouth Award, and her first was in 8/2012. She is a denizen of Care2, where she is also very active. I have no doubt that she’ll be busier than a long-tail cat at a rocking chair convention supporting Alison Grimes to defeat her Senator, Bought Bitch Mitch (R-KY). Lets let her know we’re glad she’s here. Congrats Edie!

OK – where's that sly, winking emoticon that I put in at the end of the above?
Or are all the optional emoticons they offer to choose from when you hit the smiley one just duds, and you can only use the smiley one?
They seem to be working.
OK – I picked a couple, and I'll see what happens.
But remember – you have that Super-Duper access that allows only YOU to post pictures, even though the same Ribbon says I can, too – but I can't.
SEE! NOT ONE of the three Emoticons I picked showed up.
Only the Smiley one will work for us plebes.
Then it looks like I have some major surgery to do. Forgive me, but it will take a while. I'll need to back up thne entile site, which takes several hours, uninstall the comment editor, reinstall the comment editor, and hope that the whole thing dioesn't come down, because the author of the comment editor has not kept it current, as wordpress has changed, but it's the only one I've found that does what it does.

Congratulations Edie! Nameless, if there were a gift certificate, I could see Edie giving it to Alison's campaign. But I have had trouble with emoticons also. Did you look at the "using smileys" link in the top left? 😉
On my Comment box "ribbon" the Smiley option is in a grouping on the middle row at the right, nested between "Insert Horizontal Line" and "Insert Character"
When I click on the Smiley, I get another sub-menu with a pretty typical array of Emoticons. So I clicked on the devious, sly winking one – but nothing showed up.

Lynn, I might just take that name for all my sites. Thanks for the good idea. I wasn't born in Kentucky, but I got here as fast as I could. I truly love my state, I just don't love that it is red instead of blue, my all time favorite color.
