You’d think that the Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda, Faux Noise, was too much already. But since Rupert Murdock took over Harlequin Romance, we shall now have the Republican Reichsministry of Pseudo-porn. And who could be a better guy to Introduce Faux Smut than Bill Maher?
On Friday, Bill Maher took on Rupert Murdoch’s acquiring of Harlequin, publisher of steamy romance novels, by reading an excerpt of erotic literature — with a conservative twist. Maher suspects that the Fox News owner’s acquisition of the publishing company may mean the books will take a rightward turn.
The book describes "a passion that burned like an underprotected embassy in Libya." One male character was "widower whose wife had died in the War on Christmas."…

"Mexicans really are willing to do jobs Americans won't!" ROTFLPMPACGU!
Priceless…. 😆
Bill Maher is a genius.
Thanks TC!
This was pure genius! Thanks for the laughs.
I watched Bill on Friday night, and admit I have never read something call a Harlequin Romance. I did put my ipad to work and looked it up while giving Bill a pause. I guess before he dies Rupert wants a little romance, right wing style.
ROFL! Oh, Bill, stop..no, don't stop..;) I am only surprised the book wasn't called "50 Shades Whiter Than Pale"!
Still laughing. What will all those lonely women do without the "real" Harlequin? Yes, I have read a couple of them when my sister in law has brought me a bag of books. Giggled at most of the story. Never bought one, but am cheap enough to read a free one. I am sure the company will go out of business when the heaving breasts and throbbing male parts are removed from the story line..
Tnanks all glad you enjoyed it. Laughter helps, because the outrage TEAbuggery regularly inspires can hone too fine an edge without it.
Very funny! Bill really worked in a lot of right wing shenanigans into that short "excerpt". Too bad real life isn't that funny. Instead it is all "war on …", lies, deceit, fraud etc when it comes to the right wing boneheads.
