Perhaps I’m being too familiar to address this Republican by his first name only. Idiot, Son of Idiot, Named after Idiot (R-KY) has been caught in a major scam, trying to misrepresent his so-called experience with ObamaCare. He may have fraudulently obtained a bogus Medicaid Card for his son. Lets start with the video:
What he said, however, is completely unrelated to the facts.
Sunday, during an interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s This Week, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) told a wild tale about his son’s trouble with Obamacare. Paul claimed that one of his sons (the Pauls have three—William, Duncan, and Robert) was enrolled in Medicaid in Kentucky against his will. The senator briefly flashed a blue-and-white insurance card before launching into a diatribe about his son’s travails: "We didn’t try to get him Medicaid…They automatically enrolled him in Medicaid," Paul said. "For a month they wouldn’t talk to us because they said they weren’t sure he existed. He had to go down to the welfare office, prove his existence, then, next thing we know, we get a Medicaid card."
Paul then extrapolated from his son’s experience to make a general point about Kentucky’s health exchange: "Most of the people in Kentucky are getting automatically enrolled in Medicaid."
Conservative websites [Faux Noise delinked] latched [Propaganda delinked] onto [propaganda delinked] Paul’s claim as the latest example of Obamacare’s failures. There’s one problem, though: Paul’s story doesn’t make sense. No one is being automatically enrolled for Medicaid in Kentucky, says Jill Midkiff, communications director for the state’s health department. "We’re not automatically enrolling people," Midkiff explains. "People have to actually go and apply." The Affordable Care Act allowed states to automatically add residents who already receive other social services, such as food stamps and other health programs, to the Medicaid rolls. But Kentucky chose not to take advantage of that provision of the law. The state is notifying some residents of their eligibility for Medicaid, but Paul’s son would have needed to actually apply for Medicaid in order to receive a Medicaid card… [emphasis added]

That leaves us two possibilities. One is that the card Paul flashed, claiming it is a Medicaid card, is something else. If that is the case, he should be recalled for committing fraud against voters. The other possibility is that it is a Medicaid card, for which a privileged scion of the millionaire Idiot family could not quality. If that is the case he should be criminally charged for fraud, and be recalled. Either way, he has proven that he is not fit to hold office.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
If Sen Paul cannot get into his insurance site to alter his cover – surely that is the fault of his insurance provider not anyone else? Oh sorry, I forgot – if a Repugligon stubs their toe that is President Obama's fault! As I have never yet met any Repuglicon politician who actually recognised the truth, let alone spoke it, I doubt this story in its entirety – its as phony as all the other lies they have told about the world.
I think we all know by now that Idiot, Son Idiot, etc lies almost evey time he opens his mouth. Why he has any credibility with even a small portion of the American populace is way beyond my ken.
Prosecute him for fraud? Recall him? I say "Yes" to both.
Liar, liar, pants on fire. Kentucky is running a very good state program that allows people to sign up for insurance and if qualified might be covered in part or fully by Medicaid. No application No coverage.
Please send me the address for the "Welfare Office" no such place exists in any town or city within the US. Very few offices for Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid make appointments. Most things are handled by phone and on line applications. No application – No service. Some states do have a few offices for processing claims for unemployment benefits in person, many of those are also now using phone and on line applications.
When a lie is this transparent why even bother to make such a fool of yourself?
I have always thought that Rand Paul looks and talks like he is mentally challenged (being politically correct).
Down right retarded.
This doof is a really good poster child for why abortion should be legal and easy.
The real tragedy is that when so much needs to be done, we must take time to refute these obvious lies, fantasies, and alien-invasion stories because there are voters stupid enough to believe them. Grrrrrr!
Rand Paul has proved over and over again that he is not fit to hold office. But then again, I have a hard time coming up with a republican that is fit to hold office…at least on the national level.
Combine this transparent LIE with the ongoing Chris "A Fridge Too Far" Christie fiasco (OK – I shouldn't make cheap fat jokes) – does this make Ted Cruz the lead for the Repubican nomination?
Boy, Hillary must have her feet up and enjoying an ear-to-ear grin about now.
You Go Girl!
(OK – I'd really prefer Warren … but reality sets limits)
Rand and Mitch are now buddies, even though they have not previously supported each other. Mitch is running scared of Grimes, who is ahead of him in most polls. They tie her to Pres. Obama in all their ads and they are running LOTS of ads. This clown wouldn't know the truth if it slapped him in the face. Sadly, very few will take the time to wonder how he managed to qualify for medicaid for his son.
Thanks everyone! 🙂
So, Rand Paul, one could conclude, lies. Haha. No surprise there. He lies every time he opens his mouth.
~~Paul’s story doesn’t make sense.
