When it comes to facts Republicans seem to live in a different world from the rest of us. One of the main reasons is that they get their information from non-factual sources, such as the Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda, Faux Noise. Here is one of their most idiotic offerings of 2013.
Along with death and taxes, Fox News is one of the few things we can depend on in this world. Just as the sun rises and sets, it’s a given that, over the course of 12 months, many ridiculous, offensive, stupid and bewildering things will be said by persons seated in front of a Fox News studio camera. Whether it’s from the hosts, guests or mere contributors, you can be assured that someone is going to say something that was better left unsaid.
With that in mind, join us as we go through some of the lowest lows from Fox News, moments to remind us that when it comes to lizard-brained inanity, no one holds a candle to the guys and gals at Fox.
5. Bill O’Reilly says Asians aren’t liberals because they’re “industrious and hard-working.”
O’Reilly may be considerably less relevant today than he was around 10 years ago — but he’s still totally racist! While this aside about Asian people isn’t quite so outlandishly bigoted as his infamous recollection of that one time he ate at a place with black people, it’s still a brain-dead comment founded entirely on a racial stereotype. And, in fact, it’s kind of doubly (or triply) racist because it implies that people who vote for liberal politicians are not industrious or hard-working. Other than that, though, it was a totally defensible thing to say…

I shared just number five with you. Click through for the other four and a better understanding of why Republican apologists are so thoroughly detached from reality.
In fact, it is so bad that a University of Maryland study confirmed that people who watch Faux Noise are less informed than people who watch no news at all.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Faux Noise should be changed to Faux' Faulty Funnies. They are so stupid they are hilarious.
Good one, Patty!
There is another group that I find irritating. Those who walk through life so removed from any news, that even when a major crisis hits, they have no idea what has happened. The explanation is universally, "I don't like politics." For most it comes as no surprise that there are news outlets that address only "things" happening around the world and do not get mired in the politics of each situation. That excuse really does not hold water. "I like being ignorant of the world." Now that is a far more truthful statement.
I see some of Fox almost every week night, but Fox seen through the eyes of Jon Stewart is far more palatable than having to actually watch the idiots channel.
Thanks TC – you're getting your grove back!
Citizenship is too great a commitment for such as those.
Fox hazs its uses. Whatever they say, I know researching the opposite will bear fruit.
My Grove? I wish I did own trees!! 😉
You're hitting all my buttons today, Kit – for sure, the only thing worse than stupid politicians and Faux News are those who can't be bothered, don't care, find the news too depressing or otherwise just don't want to be bothered. They are, in fact, the ones that make life so much harder for the rest of us because we end up fighting battles for us and for them, too.
I agree with her too!
I noticed one of the articles referenced Geraldo and his Trayvon's hoodie meltdown. Somewhere on the 'net, I think in the past couple of weeks, there was an article about why do people look at a black teen in a hoodie and see a thug but they look at Mark Zuckerberg in a hoodie and see a genius. It was a site where I couldn't comment for some reason (maybe, like many, you can only comment through Facebook and I will not use Facebook), but I would like to go on record now:
When I look at Mark Zuckerberg in a hoodie, I see a white thug, one far more dangerous than any black teen. Hint: it's not the hoodie.
You base yourt opinion on behavior. Republicans base theirs on skin color.
"… a University of Maryland study confirmed that people who watch Faux Noise are less informed than people who watch no news at all." I think the FCC should make FOX run that exact disclaimer at the bottom of the screen throughout the airing of any FAUX "News" programs!
I totally agree Yvonne.
I wsould LOVE to see that!
AMEN to that!
Me too!
I clicked through all five interviews, all were amazingly ignorant, but Lauren Green's had to be the worst. How could she not be totally humiliated if she watched it later, to hear this man repeatedly tell her he has four degrees in religious history and then hear herself ask such stupid questions?
I think Fox news should be run with a caution statement at the top, warning us that we are going to hear rash, irrational opionions from bigoted, ignorant people.
See m,y reply to Yvonne, Edie!
Repeating a lie over and over does not make it true… Money and Wealth are an addiction too… smile 😆
