Here are the results of our ENDA or Not? Poll.  Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories.   Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population.  Nevertheless, our polls are often accurate.

Senate, yes. House, no way. The baggers are running out of groups they can legally discriminate against, so they won’t even allow a vote on this.

I forgot to vote earlier. Now I know the results in the Senate were 61 for – 39 against. It almost seems unfair to vote, but I am positive that the House will never allow it. Equal rights for the LGBT community? Never in their black little pseudo-Christian hearts!hearts.

Oops! That vote was only on cloture to vote.

Not the house unless the LGBT community starts to carry guns, go hunting with Ted CrazyTeaBag Cruz, deny climate change, you get the drift.

Based on what I have seen coming out of the Washington Weenie controlled House, there is no way that the rabid base will go for ending employment discrimination against the LGBT community, nor women for that matter, even that might be perceived as less noticeable. I think their hate is stronger than their common sense.

I voted with the majority.  The only real question was whether or not Senate Republicans would goose-step together on their filibuster.  I figured they would not, because many of those who voted for it could use it to deny their policy of hatred toward LGBT people, knowing that it would never get a vote in the House.

Don’t forget to vote in the new poll. πŸ™‚

  1. No surprises on this poll. We are mostly of like minds here.

  2. In 2005, only two states had marriage equality, now 16 states have legal marriage equality.  We are marching on, the vast majority of the American people, that includes those who identify as democrat, independent and republican are strongly supportive of ENDA, with lowest number in the 70+ percentile. People may not wish to openly admit this, but we all know this could affect our children, grandchildren or any part of our extended family.  Just as the vast majority want a fair and reasonable immigration policy that includes a path to citizenship.

The House is out of touch and not in sync (not to be confused with 'N Sync) with the American people.  Americans tend to have a strong feelings for their neighbors and community.  The extremely harsh attitude in the House does not represent the desires of good hearted Americans.  We want our Congress to function, to make deals, to compromise and do the job they hired for, representing the people, not their own gamesmanship.

I voted with the majority on this poll.

  3. Thanks TC

  4. Took me awhile to figure out the ENDA acronym and after I figured it out, I forgot to vote… πŸ™„

Bad Richard! Go sit in the corner! πŸ˜‰
