Nov 282021

Hi all.  Yes, it was a good visit.  And Virgil returns all greetings.    He was, as I predicted, delighted to hear about the “Muttcracker” (as well as flabbergasted that Fort Collins has a ballet company!)

Driving out there in the morning was quite peaceful – almost no one in sight at any point.  Coming back, however was something else.  I had to leave visitation at around 2 in order to get to the restroom on the way out  (I am not starting a 2 hour drive without first stoping there, and that is not negotiable. ) After that, picking up my car key and driver’s license at the desk, getting through the locked gates, opening th tailgate, putting away my wheelchair including putting a bungee around it to keep it in one place, grabbing my crutch, putting it in the back, getting into the frone, putting the car key back on the ring, using lip balm (it’s not allowed in there and mine get chapped), getting my ice water and gluten free cookie bar out of the insulated lunchbox, putting a CD in – it was 2:30 by the time I got out of the parking lot.

And going back was not like coming out.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much traffic along that entire route.  I do realice 2″30-4:40 pm is prime shopping tme, but it wasn’t like that two weeks ago.  Of course, it also wasn’t Black Friday weekend two weeks ago.  So there’s that.

I got home safely, but kind of znked.

So my advice to you is to read today’s Erinyes and the other tings in the email, if you haven’t already.  And I will get full posts ready for tomorrow

I did already have a TC cartooon picked out for today:

But not an FFT.

  1. Cartoon: Nope. Not ever! But…after thinking about it, he should get roasted by negative actions, words, and his deeds.
Hope all who grace these pages had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We sure did !
Traffic here has grown too, I usually go out early morning to get stuff, as it does get crowded later on in the mornings.
Glad that you had a great visit w/Virgil !!  Relieved to read that you got back home safely too. Get your rest, and take good care, Joanne.

    • Cartoon: ….”he should get roasted for  HIS negative actions, words, and his deeds.”

    • TJI #1 – True that. Many people have believed that lies and falsehood are actually the root of all evil (putting greed/love of money) at #2. Scott Peck was one. His book People of the Lie makes an excellent case for that. And will chill you, if you read it for the first time (and some of it forever.) We so often say “follow the money,” and yes, thet can be very revealing, but “follow the lies” should not be ignored either.
TJI #2 – It’s not the killer baby and the mentally ill racist who are the problem. Evil happens in any society. The problem is that so many people are hooked on this particular evil. So many. That’s what we need God’s help for. (There’s a legemd – there may be some truth to it, but I don’t know that that matters – that, in a church somewhere in Europe, after the Second World War. a statue of Christ had been damaged by the bombing, but only the hands were actually missing. The parishoners decided, instead of repairing it, to put up a caption “I have no hands but yours.”)
      TJI #3 –
TJI #4 – I’m sure he’s right. However, there are two categories of things they could have done to to thsat – hacking into election electronics and poisoning the minds of the voters – and they likely used both. But poisoning the monds of the voters, however reprehensible (and other things) it may be, would not invalidate their vores. And we wouldn’t want to go there. Think of how a precewdant like that could be used against good government. Only provable and proved changing of votes cast should invalidate the votes of citizens.
-TJI #5 -That can be filed under “No shit, Sherlock.” Dear Pat, please take any action you can to prevent against and/or compensate for failures, and keepyou and your family safe.

    • TJI#1: I’ll never understand these people who do believe and follow the lies.
TJI#2: Totally insane. As for the rotten R’s inviting him to join them gang, shows me how sick minded they are. Like they want to use him to become a hitman for them.
TJI#3: Good for this judge. I wish all of the idiots who have filed lawsuits regarding the election should have to pay up.
TJI#4: I agree with Jimmy Carter’s thought. I like Whoopy Goldberg’s view where she always addressed him as You know who in the House. Never calling him President.
THI#5: Ditto Joanne’s comment. I hope you do whatever is necessary to keep you and your family safe, Pat.
Thanks again for the kind Thanksgiving wishes, Pat. I hope you and yours had a lovely one too.,

  2. Last year we wore 3 levels of clothing, had a roaring fire in the fireplace during the blackout, and had our heavy blankets and quilts.

Abbott was a dismal failure working on and fixing it. re: the grid, and not a peep about it again this year, on how to improve. He doesn’t care on iota about the folks who may have trouble staying warm, and literally trying to survive…

One death is heart wrenching, but 210 Texas people died last time during the outage. It varies on what paper one reads. Either way…it’s very sad, and depressing to think that this may be a repeat also.

Not looking forward to it, but we’ll see how it goes. Thank you, Joanne for your concern. Appreciate it.

  3. Glad you made it and back safely, abeit not as speedily as preferred Joanne.  Saw a headline about traffic on I-15 having brought it all to a standstill. And I agree that we need to follow both the money and the lies, especially the lies about money perhaps.

  4. Cartoon: DEFINITELY NOT!! I like Pat’s suggestion.
Glad your visit went nicely yesterday. Sorry to hear that you had to go thru so much coming back. Hopefully you were able to get some rest today, plus sleep well tonight.
    Take care. Thanks Joanne

  5. There seems to be a curse on PP commenters and I’m next. My satelite internet communication is offline, probably because of rainstorm damage. They will send someone over within the next two weeks.💩

For a cellphone connection I need to go outside and try to catch a signal. Impossible to comment this way. So sorry, but you will have to do without me for a while.

  6. that is one turkey not worth pardoning….

  7. Comment from our Mitch –

That’s no turkey, that’s that’s a buzzard…to be nice. Glad you got home safely.
