  1. Comment from Mitch –

GK: Well, Glenn explained, yesterday, why the Bannon indictment may have taken so long in coming.  Until last week the person in chargewas an acting prosecutor, though when a full fledged prosecutor came on board, it took only a week for the indictment to flower; and Glenn was surprised at that speed.  So, maybe there is something like that going on  with Dumpy.
TH: Mistrial would be a good outcome, as TH explains.  But, also, why is his mother, who drove him across the state line, with a gun he had only’illegally, not being charged?
RHQ: This judge is, clearly, a jackass!  “Don’t get brazen with me!”  I’m surprised he even knows that there is such a word as “brazen.”
PBS: Standing Rock matters for more than one reason: It is symbolic of centuries of broken treaties with Native tribes; it is symbolic of the rape of
the planet, for greed, even while, as you point out, COP26 was happening; it is symbolic of humankind’s myopic view of our place in the universe, not
to mention how religious ideas of Dominion fuel that idiocy.  Years ago, there was reporting of a logger, in the Northwest, whose father was a logger, before him, who “knew” that the only reason there were trees on the planet (talk about self-serving!) was that his god-thing put them there only so people could build houses!!  Myopic does not do that foolishness justice.
RU: I love it!  But, calling on my elected officials, in Florida, will only fall on limp ears.
Cracked: Funny!  Rather sad, but funny.
Beau: “What would a fascist do next?” Spot-on!!
    Mitch D.

  2. This is a petition I made and have been promoting like heck, but so far have gotten far fewer signatures than it should have. This all about the RIGHT TO VOTE, people! Please sign and forward widely. Thank you!

  3. JM: We’ve heard all the arguments to indict Trump before, but the DOJ doesn’t seem to care.

TH: Tom is reiterating what I put in my comment yesterday. This charade needs to end with a retrial under a proper judge and jury, not white supremacist stooges.

RHQ: The brazenness of this judge’s open support of the white supremacy ideology is a stain on America’s judiciary. Well, I suppose it was until Trumpism turned this into the new normal.

PBS: Like all indigenous voices at the COP26 and those of the island peoples whose very existence is already under threat, theirs weren’t listened to. Some countries have already come back on their promises made during the meeting and the watering-down of the end resolution after the fossil fuel spokesmen were allowed to take part in the negotiations has made it clear it was nothing more than a PR stunt.

RU: Thanks for putting this one up, Joanne. It is truly awesome, one of the best I’ve ever seen. Sadly it will only be enjoyed by those not responsible for America’s limp democracy.

Cracked: Well done, very sarcastic but a lot funnier than the usual consumer videos warning against faulty products.

Beau: Umberto Ecco, I didn’t see him coming, but then I’ve not read his later works, only The Name of the Rose and Foucault’s Pendulum. But I fully understand Beau’s near-perfect prediction rate for what Republicans are going to do: he sees them for what they really are: fascists.

    • I have a book called “American Fascists” by a fellow named Chris Hedges – in between the intro and the first chapter he quotes those 14 points.  The bo is from around 2006 or 2008 … and it’s mostly about evangelical “Christians.”  I had prior to now only read The Name of the Rose also, and as a mystery reader from childhood, I was unimpressed by the murder method, which can’t quite be called a cliche, but has been used lots before him (the most karmic was the murderess killing off her accomplice with the poisoned bank notes she paid him off in.)  Of course Eco’s writing was lovely, but not all that much more lovely than that ofthe better mytery writers, who have always been underestimated IMO.

  4. Quite a collection Joanne!  Kenosha’s judges apparently all are something like him, although he may be viewed as less predictable with hundreds of people seeking a different judge (you would think his colleagues would do something about him given what he did to their caseloads!).
    Petition signed Freya.
