Glenn Kirschner – Bannon is Poised to be the “Target” of a Grand Jury Investigation; Trump Poised to be a “Subject”
Meidas Touch – Matthew Dowd: Democrats are the ONLY party that supports democracy
The Lincoln Project – Last Week in the Republican Party
MSNBC – Charlie Sykes: Understand The GOP Is Setting Itself Up For Restoration To Power. This is late, but it’s a good review and a good discussion
Really American – Trump Again Claims He Doesn’t Like To Be Peed On
City News – Heroic effort by international students saves lives of two hikers in B.C. A Sikh’s turban is both a religious symbol and a part of his identity. This is sort of as if you or I had taken all our clothes off to make that rope. I am so impressed – awed, really.
Beau – Let’s talk about Mayor Pete messing up the supply chain….

Comment from Mitch –
GK: Trump needs to be subjected to close scrutiny, and probable indictment!MT: Many real world effects. Is there a more venal group of Republicans than texas Republicans?
LP: Parade of assholes.
MSNBC: The GOP would make Hitler, Ghengis Khan, Idi amin, etc. very proud. They clearly have no interest in either Democracy, or justice, only power.
RA: Nothing to say that has not been said already. POS!
Rescue: Brilliant, and selfless…not republicans, I’m sure.
Beau: Mayor Pete and the misinformation network. Once again, I suggest a reading of “The Constitution of Knowledge- A Defense Of Truth,” by Jonathan Rauch. Not that BSwas foreign to politics before Dumpy, but….

Seems to me that if male communal bathrooms are an indicator, I’m pretty sure TFG has been a “Target” since his election:
[Sidebar: The black/white photo of the trough urinal is from Ireland]
Matthew Dowd: Democrats are the ONLY party that supports democracy
This gains additional gravitas given that Dowd has a long history of working for republicans:
In 2002, Dowd was a senior adviser to the Republican National Committee.
During the 2004 presidential election, Dowd was chief strategist for George W. Bush’s re-election campaign.
And Dowd was the strategist for Arnold Schwarzenegger during his 2006 reelection campaign.

Last Week In The Republican Party
No CC … but nunchucks? NUNCHUCKS?!?
Kyrie Eleison
Understand The GOP Is Setting Itself Up For Restoration To Power
Take-Home Lesson: Hypocrisy is not JUST a GQP moral failure … it’s their go-to strategy!
Trump Again Claims He Doesn’t Like To Be Peed On
… and WHO asked him ONE THING about Golden Showers?
Heroic effort by international students saves lives of two hikers
Kudos & Congrats & Encomiums & …
… Mayor Pete messing up the supply chain….
And where was the GQP outcry when you couldn’t wipe your butt because of TP shortages under Sec. of Transportation, Elaine Chao (McConnell’s wife) during the Trump-Fostered Pandemic?
AZ Attorney General – “There’s definitely one thing people want to see. They want to see more chucks.” I have no idea what that’s about … unless it’s a swipe at Kamala .. but for what?
JM: The House has voted on Steve Bannon’s faith and with the help of nine Republican representatives is sending him up to be the target of a grand jury investigation. That may be exactly what he wants:
That said, sending Bannon off to a grand jury needed to be done, just as much as TFG shouldn’t just be subject but the target of several investigations by the DOJ. As Kirschners remarks, America can’t afford to have another politicised DOJ as it had under TFG. Looking at Biden’s plunging approval rate now is the time for justice that matters.
MT: Sorry, but this is what you get when you only have two parties to choose from. If one party goes rogue, it splits the country in two, and there’s no intermediate to bring the two together on some issues. And boy, haven’t those Republicans taken roguishness to a new, let’s say totalitarian, level.
LP: I’ve learned by now to keep my XXL barf bag ready when watching this.
MSNBC: Excellent discussion, but completely wasted on the GQP and its base.
RA: I haven’t seen anything that even remotely referred to the Pee tapes, but apparently TFG deemed it necessary to bring it up himself at a rally. That only goes to show how far gone that demented mind of his is, still mulling over those personal insults in that grey mush.
CN: Kudos to these wonderful young men. From the little of the Sikh religion I know, it is all about sharing and helping others. I’m sure they didn’t hesitate one moment before unwinding their turban to use in the rescue of these hikers. Besides a sacrificing gesture, it was also impressively practical and smart.
Beau: If the picture of Beau’s embedded video has him smiling, I usually put it on full screen because I like to see the twinkle in his eyes as he pokes fun of some right-winger. And I can see whether he has turned the badge on his cap upside-down, which he had. The Irish T-shirt was the icing on the cake of what is really a serious matter: right-wing media turning news into a scapegoating narrative and people believing it.
It’s so ironic though that the right is trying to blame one Biden-appointed Secretary for something that is beyond his control and try to make it about inexperience, turning it into incompetence. TFG was in the habit of appointing only people as Secretary who had absolutely no experience with their particular department AND were too incompetent to pick it up even over the course of four years.
Doesn’t the same apply to Trumo**? And on steroids? And do you think the DOJ doesn’t know that?
