Good morning, all – I’m alive, but my imternet died.  I called a friend whose internet works and asked her to sent an email, and she was able not only to do that but to get to my provider’s troubleshooting website (she doesn’t use the same one) and learn there was an outage in my are ant they hoped oet it fixed by 11 pm/  They didn’t.  They didn’t get it fixed by midnight. If they had, I would have gotten something up.  At that point, I really needed sleep, and jusa got up.  Thankfully, it is back!  I will have at least a partial Video Thread, because I alreadt=y had some picked and ready.  I also already had the cartoon picked, so here it it.

I am fine, Virgil is fiune, and returns all greetings.

  1. I’m so used to getting on web as soon as I wake up, I don’t know what I’d do without it, and my morning coffee. lol
YAY! Through it all…thankfully…you and your internet is back on.
    Cartoon: Ugh.
Glad that you had a safe trip, and another HI to Virgil,  46  and a good morning to you, Joanne.
Thank you for the post. Have a great day!
THIS JUST IN re: John Pavlovitz: UPDATE FROM THE ICU: 4 hours ago:
    “Dear Friends,
Tumor removal went very well yesterday and I avoided a cranial fluid leak which would have made recovery much longer and more involved.
During surgery my blood pressure did drop significantly so they inserted an arterial line to monitor continually and treat me to bring it up. Now they are trying to get it down to normal levels and wean me off those meds.
I didn’t sleep much at all last night but I mentally prepared for that. The ICU nursing staff here at UNC REX hospital are simply amazing. I am receiving wonderful care. No one has offered me livestock meds, which has been a relief!

I can’t express my gratitude to you all for the love and support of me and my family. It has been humbling to experience.
I will be in the ICU for at least another night, possibly more.
** A book I spent two years my life writing was released 4 days ago.”  (The Book he is referring to is: “If God is Love, Don’t be a Jerk.”).

    • Thanks for posting John’s update, Pat.
I will be praying that he has a speedy recovery.
      Thanks Pat

  2. TJI – What good news!  Prayers going to him  He is a voice we simply cannot afford to lose at this moment.

Pat, hope your car is alll certified and ready for fall.

    • Thanks for the well wishes for John P. Hopefully, he’ll be resting and taking good care.

Joanne and Colleen..it was a long, long day at the mechanics place. Thanks for asking.
Went to get in line for inspection early.. failed, as I needed 2 new tires. U.G.H. !!
Went to tire place, waited in line, got the new tires put on, and then went back to the inspection place, and finally passed and got my new sticker on the windshield. It was a long day, as I’m not one to set and wait, I get fidgety.
Thank Heavens it all went smoothly…as nothing else was wrong with the car. Good for another year. YAY!

      • I’m delighted the result was good, even though the day was frustrating.  I know what uyou mean about waiting.  Waiting while in the military was what actually started me on crochetin, and I’d always carry a small project with me when going to medical or dental and some other places too.  Of,course, I was in my twenties then, and knew a lot of people having babies – baby clothes are small (if you don’t fgo for a blanket) and light and very portable.  These days it’s more likely to be doll clothes – and also more likely to be knitting, though I still do both.

      • I had seen that Joanne had said she hope you got your car all certified, but wasn’t sure if that meant that you had to do like us here regarding getting our precious smog test each and every other year in California.
I still own an older Dodge Caravan that’s close to thirty years old, but it only has under 90,000 miles, so I keep it around as my secondary car or when I plan to go shopping for a large item. I had it fail a couple time and it’s like you mentioned not fun having to get whatever it needs to correct the issue.
Glad you got everything taken care and can have peace for another year. Yippee!
        Enjoy you day, Pat.

        • Before I had the PT Cruiser I now have, I had a Dodge Grand Caravan – I agree, incredibly useful for big stuff.  But the electrical system – the battery just stopped holding a cherge, and, at the end, even for 6 hours.  Had to do something.  My mechanics had been trying to find the, but apparently there was over five miles of wire in there which made it hard to find.  But if your electrical system is good, it should still be good.

        • Thank you, for your caring words.
          I appreciate your concern, Colleen.
Thank you so much for your words of encouragement.  20

  3. Cartoon: Evil repugs.
Glad that you had a nice visit with Virgil. Happy that you made it back safely. I was checking before I went to sleep. I understand the issues about the Internet provider being down. Do have our share of it here.
Hope you’re able to relax and catch up with your rest today.
    Take care. Thanks Joanne

  4. Internet glitches on both sides of the equator/oceans kept us from communicating properly, Joanne. I for one are glad that was all that kept you from posting, and I’m even happier that you didn’t freak out but took the rest you needed after your trip to see Virgil.

It’s good to hear that both of you are doing fine.

  5. thanks
