Yesterday was reasonably calm, and I got some things done, but still have some de-cluttering to do. I did succeed in setting up my meds for the ext two weeks so that all I have to do is remember to take them – and I’m fairly good at that.
Cartoon (After all, it’s Tuesday) –
Short Takes –
Crooks and Liars – Sixteen Weapons, Tons Of Ammo Found In Hotel Room Near Coors Field
Quote – A maid working at Denver’s Maven Hotel tipped off law enforcement about weapons in one of the rooms there. Police got a search warrant, found 16 long guns, body armor, and over a thousand rounds of ammunition in the room, which featured a balcony overlooking the downtown area. The Maven Hotel is not too far from Coors Field, which will host the All-Star game on Tuesday.
Click through for preliminary details (which may get updaed). The sad thing is that if I hadn’t seen “Coors Field” I might have passed ths by.
The Hill – Judge grills attorneys over suit challenging Michigan results
Quote – “I need to point out here that my concern is that the counsel here have submitted affidavits that suggest and make the public believe that there was something wrong with the election and that is what this is all about,” said the judge, who was appointed by former President Obama. “That’s what these affidavits were designed to show, that there was something wrong in Michigan, there was something wrong in Wayne County.”
Click through for some of the back-and-forth. Kudos to Judge Parker. We need more of this.
Neighbors See Trump Waiting by Mailbox for Reinstatement Notice
Quote – Mr. Klugian said that he sympathized with Trump because he remembered “checking the mail a lot when I first retired…. If you don’t have anything to do, the mail becomes kind of the high point of your day,” he said. “He has to get into gardening or volunteering. Something. He can’t go on like this.”
Click through for details. Sounds like straight news to me, but with Andy … how can you tell?

Cartoon: What a shame. Most cats are lightening fast! (with claws extended..). btw.. It’s not her first….My Russian Blue killed a mature coral snake yesterday in the garage. SNAP!
C&L: Really scary. Holy cannole! and KUDOS! Give that maid a big pay raise!!
The Hill: Amen! Kudos to the judge.
NYer: Seeing TOT going or walking to the mailbox is rare…glad that Andy and his neighbors pointed that out though. Amazing incidents like this is recorded for prosperity. LOL
FFT: Good one!
Glad you got everything all squared away re: your meds. Come to think of it…I need to do mine too. Thanks for the reminder. Hope you have a good day, and Thanks, Joanne.
This Just In: “Gun violence has plagued our nation for too long — and my Administration is taking action to end it. In that effort, I’m meeting with the Attorney General, law enforcement officials, and local leaders this afternoon to discuss our comprehensive strategy to reduce gun crimes.” ~ President Biden ~
2. “Monday July 12th. Breaking – “Texas Democrats are walking out to deny Republicans a quorum, which will prevent the passage of their elections bill, the trans bill, their bail bill, and everything else. They will have to leave the state for weeks. The last time they did this was in 2003.” ~ Jessica Huseman ~
3. “Phasing out unnecessary single-use plastics nationwide is critical to reducing plastic waste.” ~ Senator Jeff Merkley ~
4. “Words for Trump to live by. ‘Take your fake WH Seal and go play President somewhere else.'” ~ Jim Acosta~
5. “Socialism is the fire department saving your house. Capitalism is the insurance company denying your claim.” ~ T. Wheeler ~
TJI #1 – And it won’t involve taking away anyone’s gons, probably not even a gun amnesty program. No matter how much they fearmonger.
TJI #2 – Beau has a suggestion wich would solve problems like this. It would work, too, if it didn’t have to be enforced by – oh, I don’t know – humans. Even so, it might help.
TJI #3 – Jeff has put a lot of time and effort int studying climate change, and anything he proposes will work. Whether it will happen is another thing entirely.
TJI #4 – Needs more specificity on where/
TJI #5 – Probably not denying it, but certainly underpaying it because you failed to (a) document all your personal belongings (b) keep the documentation elsewhere than in the house. Denying it completely would likely only happen if they had reason to believe you committed arson. Otherwise, the analogy is extremely good.
TJI #2 – Bless those Texas Democrats for at least trying to stop voter suppression!
TJI #2: Sad they have to take the Republican low road to prevent these laws from passing, but kudos to Texan Democrats for doing so.
TJI #3: For starters, Jeff. For starters…
TJI #2 – agreed. It was essentially a filibister. But such a difference – in the motive – in the working coopeeratively – in the use of their time to, if you will, lobby in DC for righteousness.
I’m glad that things have come somewhat together, for you.
‘Toon: We need an industrial strength flusher for the crazies!
C&L: Shades of Nevada!! Not lost on the police, either. That maid needs more than a raise, she reminds me of the fellow who found the “Plumbers” tape on the door of Watergate. I was happy to see that those good citizens were arrested. Lauren Boebert is probably going to come to their defense, in some totally bizarre manner.
TH: BS affidavits? GQP folk submitted BS affidavits, to a court of law? I’m shocked, just shocked! Sidney Powell needs to join Rudy, in the “Sorry, but the likes of you, can no longer practice law, here” dunce’s corner.
Andy: Outdoing himself, Andy is! On the other hand, I have a retired, bored neighbor, who “also” seems to live for his mail delivery. “Volunteer?” HA!!!
FFT: No, no, the folks near Coors Field had them all! But, when is the NRA going to go out of business, already? “Previous offenders” with weapons? Once again, I’m shocked!
It looks like suspension –? disbarment may indeed be in Sidney Powell’s furture. And I hear tehh the state of Georgis is practically chasing Lin Wood with a butterfly net. I hope that rumor is true.
I’m very interested in my mail too – especially when expecting a package – but my neighbors don’t know it because I use USPS informed Delivery, so it’s my email inbox I check compulsively, and I alone see that.
TJI#1: Uh, oh, I guess Calvin was on to something real, after all! I can hear the sheep bleating already.
TJI#2: Hoping that the publicity this garners will have some salutary effect, will come back to haunt Abbott at re-election time.
TJI#3: Merkely speaks truth, as usual.
TJI#4: Good on Jim Acosta. Maybe not “somewhere else,” but “shove it!”
TJI#5: Well said!
Right up there with folding laundry (it’s the only part of doing the laundry I’m not fond of), filling my pill containers w/ a week’s worth of pills is one of my least favorite chores.
Not sure why & I always tell myself that I need to be thankful for being able to do it – but it’s just not any fun.
Sixteen Weapons, Tons Of Ammo Found In Hotel Room
Bless that hotel maid for preventing a tragedy!
Just goes to prove: “If You See Something – SAY Something!”
Judge grills attorneys over suit challenging Michigan results
The Kracken is cracking up!
Neighbors See Trump Waiting by Mailbox
Donnie needs another hobby – other than trying to destroy our country.
I do two weeks at a time (am and pm). And I keep an extra am and two extra pm filled so if I just cab’t even, I have extra time. It’s easier if for the two which need to be cut I cut up a whole 90-day supply. Right now I’ve done that for one and need to dos o for the other, preferably within the next 2 weels. And I really don’t know either why it’s so annoying – it doesn’t reallt take a lot of time – but it certainly is.
I do eight days (AM & PM) at a time. I use old pill bottles for the first PM & AM dose.
I will definitely consider extending it to 15 days and get an extra AM & PM 7-day pill containers.
As long as I’m doing it, that should help w/ the annoyance factor. Only concern is if I run out of pills before a refill would be able to be approved.
Cartoon: Darn it, I thought I have them… maybe next time.
C&L: Bless her for making the call. Hate to think of what would of happened.
The Hill: I too thank Judge Parker. Wish more would do the same.
TNY: tRump, you idiot. Hate to tell you that it isn’t coming. We’ll be giving the thumbs up when the FBI come to arrest you.
Food for Thought: Wish someone would get things rolling to do something regarding gun violence. It’s way over due. Hundreds of shootings every week.
Nice hearing that you had a pleasant day yesterday. Always nice when you get things accomplished too. Hope it continues that direction for you.
Take care. Thanks Joanne
Kudos for getting yourself reorganised medicine-wise, Joanne. That’s something with high priority.
Cartoon: Get away? I was certain they’d block the pipes.
C&L: A big kudos to the maid who undoubtedly prevented a Trumpian (read horrible) bloodbath. Police say the four in custody weren’t going to commit a terrorist act. What the 👿 would they call it then?
TH: Judge Linda Parker is no fool and she saw through this lawsuit straight from the start, “suggesting that it was presented in bad faith and unworthy of being submitted in a court proceeding.” I hope these “lawyers” and the plaintiffs get what is coming to them: sanctions after the lawsuit failed to alter the results of the election, these plaintiffs having to reimburse the legal costs, and the lawyers being prohibited from practicing law in the Eastern District of Michigan.
TNY: Andy painted a truly delectable image there of a defeated and dejected former guy slumped next to his mailbox, waiting to be called upon again. I wish I was a cartoonist so that I could draw this out over four seasons, with Trump covered in snow or blistered by the sun.
FFT: Those four in Denver who stashed their tons of ammunition and more than a dozen long guns in their Maven Hotel room apparently couldn’t think of any other place to hide them from Democrats.
