Well, I got some charge into the battery, but I didn’t get the car started, and I ran out of time (and energy.) But I’m encouraged enough to keep trying. If I can’t get this done myself, I’ll have to find a roadside Assistance provider who will bring me a whole new battery. Thanks to the stimulus, I can afford that, it just pains my frugality (which I apparently inherited from my father, or so my mother often said.)

Crooks and Liars – Stanford Law Withholds Diploma After Student Satire Triggers Federalist Society
Well, this is embarrassing. I mean, anyone can make a mistake, but tis is my school and the mistake is egregious and public. Here’s the header of the flyer Which Lainched a Thousand Snowflakes:
You can click though fror the details. They say it’s a two-minute read. (And ends with the news that the hold has been lifted. Thank God.)
Also from Crooks and liars – I can’t find anyone else carrying this story, and that’s a shame. Every American should know about this.

CNN – San Francisco’s ‘CAREN Act,’ making racially biased 911 calls illegal, is one step closer to becoming a law
This is great news, as far as it goes – it’s just a bill (or whatever they call it in a City/County – San Francisco is both), not a law (ordinance?) But oh, how it needs to be! And enforced!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Cartoon: YIKES!!! (oh my!)
C&L: Thankfully, it’s protected speech, and glad to read that Mr. Wallace will receive his diploma.
C&L2: Good grief, what a horrible sickening remark to say. And on the air too! What an hateful as-!
CNN: Spread the news far and wide. Excellent comment, Dr. Allen! BRAVO!
Hope that your battery starts working, or getting a new one put in. Best of luck to you.
Thanks Joanne for posting.
*This just in: 1. “Doing nothing on voting rights is simply not an option – 2022 will be impacted and it will go downhill from there. The GQP knows this. They will unfairly grab Senate and House seats, and paralyze ourelections further. NOW is the time! We MUST act! NO excuses!” ~ Amy Siskind ~
2. “You can’t outlaw giving water to voters, refuse to investigate an insurrection and then claim you’re defendingdemocracy.” ~ Amy Klobuchar ~
3. “Imagine what could be accomplished if Democratic leadership publicly threatened to fund primary challengers for Manchin and Sinema unless they agreed to get rid of the filibuster.” ~ Socialist Mormon ~
4. “Democrats worked across the aisle, agreeing to everything that Republicans asked for. In not taking ‘yes’ for an answer, Republicans clearly put their election concerns above the security of the Congress and country.” ~Nancy Pelosi ~
5. “Whether it’s the unearthed remains of indigenous children at a boarding school, or finally a visit to Tulsa by a president 100 years later, one thing is clear: We cannot move forward until we acknowledge the atrocities of the past. We must teach true history, however painful.” ~ George Takei ~
TJI # 1 – Why is this so difficult for so many Dems to grasp?
TJI # 2 – Oh, sure they can. Truth is non-existent for them. And that may be the root of all evil. Scott Peck thought so (“People of the Lie”)
TJI # 3 – Sadly, not all that much. Manchin in particular knows if Dems put up someone more liberal the seat would go to a Rethug – he’s held it for long ehough to be sure of that, and I fear he’s correct. Sinema is a newcomer but has a similar district. If we could be sure of enough gains elsewhere to make up for those lost seats, it would be different. But even with no gerrymandering and fair voting we can’t be positive of that.
TJI # 4 – Way past time to go it alone now.
TJI # 5 – Our Mitch’s response to this is a TJI of its own.
Hope you got the new battery.
‘Toon: Sad. Especially sad when one considers that the anti-abortinists are not “Pro-Life,” as they claim to be, but only pro-fetus. Once the fetus is an infant, they do not mind getting in the way of its nutrition, housing, health care, etc.
C&L#1: Just like the “Pro-Lifers,” the Federalists only care about freedoms for themselves.
C&L#2: Faux News needs to be seriously taken down.
CNN: It is really sad that someone has had to try to explain these things to those idiots.
TJI#1: On target.
TJI#2: On target.
TJI#3: I love it!
TJI#4: Pelosi speaks the truth.
TJI#5: Absolutely! If we keep on teaching mythology, and call it history, we will continue to live in fantasy.
Thanks Joanne. I had to replace my battery in Jan. when recharging effort wouldn’t fully charge it.
SF would be an ordinance and I just read about a black deliveryman whose been getting threats of 911 calls when delivering in one of their more elite neighborhoods–the ordinance should help him do his job without that added stress.
Yes – that was the story that ledme to the ordinance story. I didn’t go into that much detail, parrly because he appeared to have beenhassled enough (not that he can’t hold his own.)
Gotta love the acronym.
Cartoon: Shameful.
C&L1: What’s going on with our World? What happened to free speech? At least he did get his diploma.
C&L2: He should be arrested for saying such a thing. faux news sucks. I’m honestly worried about President Biden even being in the same room as pUtin. With all the evil poisonings he’s done to citizens over in Russia, I don’t trust him one flipping bit.
CNN: Good news. Do appreciate what Dr. Allen said.
Hope you were able to get a hold of someone at roadside assistance. I hope all that you need is a new battery, that it isn’t any thing to do with the car itself.
Hope the rest of your day was pleasant. We’ve had a nice day here in San Diego. With it staying lighter longer, been able to get more planting done. Have various vegetables and fruits planted.
Take care. Thanks Joanne
Hope your car is working now….I think the Stanford Federalist story shows ingenuity and intelligence…along with honesty, glad they went ahead and did give him his diploma….I see a bright future in that young one’s life.
Me too. Thanks.
PERSONAL UPDATE
First, thanks for all your kind well-wishes – they’re always much appreciated.
I took an extra Flecainide Thursday afternoon, and a little over an hour later I converted to NSR (Normal Sinus Rhythm). But slipped back into tachycardia (Atrial Fib? Atrial Flutter? Or Both?) shortly before bedtime – which was time to take my regular Flecainide dose.
By Friday morning I had converted back to NSR, and the EKG proved that Friday morning in the office.
I’m still having several episodes of anxiety attacks, which can be associated w/ my palpitations. It’s the age-old question of chicken or egg? Did my anxiety attacks precipitate my palpitations; or did my palpitations bring on my anxiety attack. Either one makes sense.
Otherwise I’m feeling good and have not slipped back into Atrial Fib or Atrial Flutter (the flutter is something the cardiologist said was a new possibility).
I’m still taking it easy, but I hope to post something tomorrow or Monday (assuming all continues on an even keel). And I’m feeling much better.
So glad you are feeling better! Whatever is causing what, I hope you can get out of thecycle very soon – But – And – whether or not I already said it – take all the time you need. We will be here. Take care of yourself.
