It’s a tired, painful day here in the CatBox. This morning I Republicated Big Time. Late this afternoon I fell asleep instead of taking my Oxycodone dose and was in considerable pain, by the time I awakened. Now that I’m getting used to this level of methadone, it’s clear that I need to increase it again. Please pray that I can stabilize both my pain and Republication levels.

Cartoon: Kinda cute. Nothing wrong w/that…lol
BFTP: Love the words. Beautiful song. Every time I hear this song, I get teary eyed.
YAY, for you! for Republicating! Hope that it continues too. Hopefully, you can get your meds fixed to where you are not in pain, and get and stay comfortable. I pray for you every day, TC. You matter! Take good, good care, and Thanks!

TJI #1 – Michael is not stupid, but (as he has shown) he is not exactly the world’s best judge of character. Rudy should flip – but whether he will remains unseen (not to mentione whether it would be accepted if he did. See Glenn Kirschner in today’s video thread.)
TJI #2 – At this point in history, there are more qualified women than qualified men availablr for appointment. So many (and such a shortage of qualidied men) that even Trump** had to appoint some women – which we all know he would rather not have.
TJI #3 – It wouldn’t require a time machine. Bill Moyers is still alive last I heard, and he has younger colleagues who could do the job. I’m confident he would be happy to recommend some.
TJI #4 – Ah, yes. That was their Adam. While I prefer our Adam by far, I have to say theirs is one of the smartest elected officials they have.
Thanks Pat! You matter too!
In a very minor way, I know what it’s like to wake up after having missed a bedtime dose of painkiller (in my case, mils OTCs). Your pain must be exponentially worse. Yes, prayers for a methadone increase, relieved OIC, and a memory boost for the oxy as needed.
Judge dismisses NRA bankruptcy filing. Smirk.
The period May 31 through June 2 will be the one hundredth anniversary of the deadliest massacre of black people in the history of the United States. I am certainly not (no one is0 recommending that it be celebrated, but I am recommending (as others are0 that it should be remembered. The Smithsonian has and/or knows of several events to this purpose.
This podcast episode “Confronting the Past” (22:25) is already up and can be listened to at any time.
“Tulsa: The Fire and the Forgotten” (May 20, 7-9 pm Eastern) is free but registration is required.
On May 17, about 500 previously unpublished documents, newly transcribed, pertaining to the masscre, will be posted by the Smithsonian.
Then, on May 24, there will be a Webinar (free, but registration required) called “Transcribing the Legacy of the Tulsa Race Massacre” at 1 pm Eastern
Finally, on June 2, there will be a panel discussion (free but registration required) called “In Remembrance Of Greenwood” from 7 pm to 8:30 pm Eastern.
One more ongoing resource is the NMAAHC Collection, where objects relating to the masscre can be seen at any time.
Catoon – And about time, too. It’s easy to see who really has the tantrums
Blast – I often think, not about this song so much, but about the history it deals with. We were within smelling distance of real change in the 1960’s (probably in the 1860’s too, but I wasn’t there then) and power just cound not handle that. So when I mention that I hope that someone (like Maxine Waters or Katie Porter) has good security), I am dead serious about that, and this is why.
Cartoon: Glad they did. They’re the biggest problem makers.
BFTP: Great song. Makes me sad thinking of all the great lives taken from us.
I’m happy to hear that you got to nap, but sorry you slept thru your Oxy dosage time. I take it that they let you sleep there, not like when we’ve ever been in a hospital and they wake you up to give you the meds.
Hopefully you’ll get the methadone increase you need. I pray that your Hospice Nurse takes care of your request quickly. Plus that you do continue Republicated, so you’re body will feel better.
Take care. Prayers your way. Thanks Tom
I’m so sorry the pain is still getting the better of you, TomCat. It’s terribly hard to find a balance between pain management and keeping some control of your life, isn’t it? If you want to keep in control of taking your (pain) medication on time, you could perhaps consider using those dispensers with an alarm. Providing you do take the oxycodone as directed and not doze off before you do π
Cartoon: It took them long enough, but everyone is used to it now.
BFTP: A beautiful song, both in text and melody. It’s hard to keep believing in humanity when everyone who pushes it towards more general goodness, away from its inherent greed, is eliminated.
Thanks and Amen JD, Colleen and Lona!
Have a great Thursday!!
