It’s a very tired day, here in the CatBox.  WWWendy came yesterday morning and gave me a shower.  Then she put a new topper on my bed and changed the sheets.  My new Hospice Nurse came.  I like her much better than the one I had before I moved.  Last night I had to Republicate so bad that I finally did.  It was so much that it took the poor staff aide over an hour to clean the throne when I was finally done.  I hope I can regulate better from now on.  I’m wishing you a happy Thursday.  Prayers please and Prayers back to you!

  1. Glad you got that out of your system!  Feel better.
    ‘Toon: Joe the in-decent.
BFP: You have people who love you!  Saw them live, a couple of times.  I can’t believe how old Gracie is, shit, me too, then!

  2. Cartoon: Joe McCarthy: A snake in the grass. A cad to the core.
BFTP: What a fantastic voice! Excellent vibes, man!
Glad to read that your Republication went well for you! Hi WWWendy, hope you have a good week, and Thank you for all you do for TC.  Glad you now have a good Hospice Nurse, it sure does make a difference for you. Hope that your day/evening goes good, and that you get a chance to nap. Take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. It’s not the Republicating that’s so bad, it’s the cleaning up – and when you are already in pain, and there are positions your body just won’t assume, it gets exponentially worse. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.I am so glad you have people to clean up.

Cartoon – If you ever want to see an example of history rhyming, look up Titus Oates. He even had the technique down of “”I have a list here…” a list which no one ever saw but himself. And I’d be surprised if he was the first to use it.

If you do’t want to see how old you are, don’t lok at your coevals. That’s even worse than looking in a mirror.

Two of the leading Republican firebrands in Congress touted big fundraising hauls as a show of grassroots support for their high-profile stands against accepting the 2020 election results.
But new financial disclosures show that Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., relied on an email marketing vendor that takes as much as 80 cents on the dollar. That means their headline-grabbing numbers were more the product of expensively soliciting hardcore Republicans than an organic groundswell of far-reaching support.

  4. I am so happy (and relieved) that you sound so enthusiastic WRT your decision to move to your new abode!  And a bonus for both you and Wendy now being practically neighbors!
    PERSONAL UPDATE
My aunt has now signed up for Hospice Care.  It was her decision, but the family certainly supported her in making it.
She’s getting her Hospice care in a LTC unit that’s part of her local hospital.  She has two friends from church who are now staying with her – one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  (I just sent them gifts of Harry & David pears as a small token of appreciation.)
She, too, suffers from OIC – but unfortunately Relistor is not on the hospital’s formulary.  (I find that a bit odd – but it is what it is.)  And although I had asked the hospital & LTC nurses to see if they could increase the dose of her Fentanyl patch because she complained to me daily of “excruciating pain” (her words – and she’s a stoic) – I had no luck.
But I asked the Hospice nurse just once – and she got it done!  My aunt got her first good night of rest yesterday!
Her sister (my pseudo-aunt) who lives just a few blocks from will be going up on the 29th with two of her sons (my pseudo-cousins).
Several years ago I started using my Mom’s CPA to do my taxes since I had to go up there for hers – AND he’s at least $500 cheaper than the one I’ had been using down here!  (When I was practicing he was our office’s CPA and is very good – but NOT $500 more every year good!)  I had scheduled to meet with him on 5/4/21 (taking advantage of the IRS extension), but I’ll see how my aunt progresses.  That might be subject to change.
Things are finally settling down here, so I hope I will be able to put something light together in the next day or two to post.  I’ll see …
The good news is that my aunt is 92 y/o, has a strong faith and is ready for what comes.  In fact she told me, “I wish the Lord would hurry up and take me!”
But right now, we’re playing it day-by-day.

    • Nice to hear that your Aunt is doing better, Nameless.
Glad that per her request that the Hospice Care has been approved. Nice that she has her close friends from the Church to stay with her too.
Sounds to me that she has a good Hospice Nurse. One who cares and take care of issues like her pain.
She’s lucky to have you there too, Nameless.
Will continue saying a pray for her, Nameless.

    • Good to hear your aunt – and family – has taken hospice care on board and the results of a different view on care are almost immediate, Nameless.

    • Nameless that’s wonderful news.  I hope she gets a level of care as wonderful as the care I receive here.  Please keep us posted! 23

    • Do keep us posted.  My mom used to say exactly that – “I wish the Lord would hurry up and take me” – and I know that was at least in part because she had been a widow for so long – almost 55 years when shedied at 93.  I know she missed my dad.  Seriously, take any time you need.  I get it.

  5. Cartoon: Joe, a real gangster full of evil traits.
BFTP: Great song. I was a big fan of Jefferson Airplane. They had many big hits.
Glad that you were able to Republicate last night, plus that you had someone there to take care of the cleanup.
Nice to hear that you’re happy with your new Hospice Nurse.
Sounds to me that things are finally moving in a positive direction for you. Tom. Pray that it continues going that direction for you too, Tom.
Hope the rest of your day and evening goes well.
    Please take care.

  6. You must be taking a lot of fibre on board to produce such an amount of output, TomCat. But better a bowl-filling amount under your control than nothing-or-all spur-of-the-moment effects you’ve been experiencing these past months. I’m glad you like this Hospice Nurse better.

Cartoon the McCarthy era has now been surpassed by the Trump era.

BFTP: Grace Slick’s voice carrying another one of those unforgettable tunes.

  7. Thanks and TGIF Hugs to all!
