As I type, it is only about 10:30 am in Portland – which would have been more than enough time for TC to have posted normally, but quite possibly not enough time for a computer tech to have arrived, or, having arrived, to have finished. I’m going to put up the video thread early and wait before putting up a placeholder.
I know I’ve been kind of pushing Glenn Kirschner, and his videos run longish (this one is 9 minutes), but he is so articulate and really knows the Constitution, I find every second I spend with him is educational and profitable. The Fourth Amendment, people.

Thanks for your patience. I have a Zoom meeting this afternoon, and I have planned to watch tonight’s streaming opera (I have seen the abridged version but not the whole thing in this production before.) That doesn’t mean I won’t be checking back.
This is Wendy posting for TC. We have the computer up and running again, but due to a significant amount of pain and discomfort I will not be online today. May take me a few days to be up and running again. I will be back online as soon as I can. Hopefully within 3 or 4 days.
Sorry to hear that TomCat is suffering with so much pain and discomfort. Please tell him to take it easy and rest as much as he needs to. No need to rush, Joanne has been keeping up with the site.

It’s a precursor of modern root beer, and from what I can determine through reading, taste much like it.
If you’re persistent (and with a little luck) you can find birch beer, which is similar but a little milder. Also a tad less sweet. I quite like it on occasion. Thanks for reminding me.
General Question:
I’d like to know if Matt Gaetz surname is pronounced: [1] Gates or [2] Getz or something else?
(Although my hearing is pretty much gone, I can still speak fairly well. And I’d just as soon not make any egregious errors.)
It’s pretty clearly pronounced “Gates.” It’s clear from the puns. “Gaetzgate.” “Pizzagaetz.” Just two examples. And I don’t listen much but when I do hear it, it’s pronounced “Gates.”
