The Damage Report – I personally would be more enthusiastic about Election Day being a holiday if there were so much as ONE holiday that still signifies the original intent of making it a holiday in the first place. As it is, I do not think that is the way to go.

NTN: Republicans in those states have gotten abortion into a corner where it almost impossible to get an abortion in their state. Now they shift their focus to trans people, and wouldn’t you know it…to those who identify as women after transitioning in particular. Their misogyny is literally unlimited.
DR: I’m with you on this one too, Joanne. Having a Democracy holiday al least sounds better than having an Election holiday but introducing a Democracy holiday because America is moving in exactly the opposite direction…? What can I say…only in America?

I’m fine if they created a national voting day or weekend (both Saturday & Sunday) if it’s decided we don’t need another holiday. But I’d really like to have some national uniformity to voting rather than our current patchwork.
