These sea turtles were rescued from the ocean off of Texas when the temperatures dropped below freezing (Imagine living in water which then freezes around you.) They were treated for hypothermia and eventually released- with playground equipment. The video only shows a few (and no words, just a chuckle at one point.)

Robert Reich – I would be remiss not to quote a comment on this: “BTW – Reich refers to LBJ using the “Bully Pulpit” to pass the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The Dems had near 2/3 majorities in both houses at the time that overcame the objections of Southern Democrats and conservative Republicans like Barry Goldwater. And the 60-vote threshold in the Senate wasn’t in effect like it is today.”

RR: The blocking of voting rights is the GOP’s last straw, and must, itself, be blocked! I believe that Biden’s next big legislative piece will do that blocking.
Beau: Wait! “The Republican party is putting their political ambitions over…anything?” What else have they done in recent memory? But, he is right, it seems to me, and the move is almost like magic, if it extricates us.
I often feel that way when someone says it is time or it is about time.

Biden Must Get Manchin and Sinema to Fall in Line
Similar to what President Franklin Roosevelt said of Nicaragua’s corrupt dictator Anastasio Somoza:
“He’s an SOB, but he’s OUR SOB.”
What I think would be the best for us on the long run would be
1. Abolish the filibuster
2. Start immediately to pass legislation on voter rights and redistricting
3. Then start on the rest of our agenda to benefit the American people and ram it through.
If we could do that, we wouldn’t have to worry about losing. If we don’t – I fear we may never win an election again. I understand people are afraid if e abolish the filibuster Republicans will use its absence against us if and when they win – and they certainly would. that’s why if we do abolish it, we need to use that adantage to achieve election fairness so they won’t win.
It’s sort of like shooting at the King – you’d better not miss.
Also your Doctor Seuss parody – I wish someone would to a parody addressed to the legislators who think that you can implant the embryo (or zygote – probably not fetus or there’d be no issue, the mother would be dead) into the uterus after removing it from the Fallopian tube.
MT: Cancel the GOP. O, how I wish we could. But sometime soon in the near future, someone else is going to cancel the GOP for the Democrats: Donald Trump.

RR: Your comment is to the point, Joanne, and so is Robert Reich’s. If they don’t get rid of the filibuster by having the two DINOs fall in line, American democracy is as good as dead with Republicans running the show without a mandate.
Beau: One of the first times I don’t agree with Beau because “giving Afghanistan to Iran” will not stabilize the Middle East, it will send it into full-blown war again.
This is an older map but the percentages haven’t changed. Islam knows many factions but the two leading ones, Sunni (85%) and Shiite (15%) have been at each other’s throats for hundreds of year, much like the Catholics and Protestants have in not so long bygone years. At the moment the ME is unstable because the two major powers of each faction, Saudi Arabia for Sunni and Iran for Shiite, are battling their dominance in the region out in countries like Iraq (60-70% Shiite under a Sunni Regime of Sadam) and especially Yemen, where a rebellion of Shiite against oppression has lead to one of the most inhumane wars known to man in terms of loss of innocent (civil) life due to bombardment, starvation and disease to the point of genocide (as recognised by the UN) by Saudi Arabia, backed by America. Leaving Afghanistan (90% Sunni) in the hands of a Shiite power would get Americans out, undoubtedly. But it would also turn into the next battleground for the Saudis.
Afghanistan may be on the other side of the Gulf of Oman, neighbouring Iran and sheltered by Pakistan, but that wouldn’t keep Saudi’s from hard-core interference and even direct hostilities with Iran as it considers America to be its greatest ally since Trump fell for their persuasions and Iran became the biggest enemy.
