Lincoln, Roosevelt, Reagan and most other historical Repuglicons are rolling in their graves….especially with the golden-calf statue of tRump
Reagan might not have a problem with the statue, except that it’s not of him.

NT: Wait just a minute! Did they use the past tense for when systemic racism thrivED? The don’t think it still does? Okay, they did include the present. The issue goes beyond “…government sponsored slavery,” to government sponsored Jim Crow, and all that implies.
MT: I have never experienced any of those awful issues he lays out, either, and those issues are not explanatory enough. Eroding power speaks to the issue, however.
C&L: McTurtle is doing what he has been doing all along, gaslighting. The GOPIGGIES laugh at investigations because they know that they will do most anything, if everything, to sabotage such things. Because they are culpable, and know it.

I’ve done 8 out of 10.
I’ve not asked Nike where the other cat is because there IS no other cat. (If there were another cat, given Nike’s feral demeanor, s/he would probably be … no longer with me.)
And I’ve never gone to the grocery store and come back w/ only cat supplies.
I have not only asked one cat to tell me where another cat is, but I have asked one cat to tinstruct the other cat to show up. And the other cat has promptly showed up enough times to reinforce my asking.
LP: “Just because no one is after you, doesn’t mean you’re alone.” So sharp, let’s keep that one.
RA: CPAC, just like that golden effigy they rolled in, is an example of extremely, mindbogglingly poor taste.
NTN: That commission has been overdue for a very long time.
MT: His truth certainly pertains to Republicans in power, and there are far too many of them, but not to all Trumpists. For many of those without power, their privilege doesn’t go any further than being white – and admittedly that goes a long way – but they may have experienced the hardships he mentioned. However their thinking isn’t so much “this won’t happen to me because it never has before” as “it happened to me because others were responsible for it happening to me”. Scapegoating has replaced their rational thinking because their thinking has been dumbed down, listening to only what they want to hear and not taking the trouble to question anything that comes out of the GOP and Trump.
C&L: A brief but very comprehensive and extremely worrying newsflash from MSNBC. I hope Democrats have taken this to heart and checking the building constantly for explosives.
BTW: did I hear the newsreader chortle at the end when she read out that McConnell suggested that when extremism was to be investigated it should be the extremism on the left?
C&M: I get to 6 out of 10. 🙀
Beau: I think people have a problem with who has categorised people and who is still doing it, namely the Trumpian ICE who have shown themselves willing to treat people so abhorrently. Who is going to oversee that people have been put or are put in the right category? Even the courts couldn’t stop ICE from abusing its power and from continuing to abuse immigrants or throw them out. Biden’s window isn’t the problem now, and in fact necessary, but of course should come under revision in the future.

Crooks & Liars: Damn right they had better take those threats seriously! The raid on 6 January shows how dangerous and committed they are. Remember that these bugnuts are well-armed. Also, D.C. may not be the only target of future attacks – any state with a largely Democrat legislature could be in their crosshairs.
