  1. Hi, TC and Wendy! Hope to hear some good news from you real soon.  Hope the electricity has not gone out there, you’ve got so much to deal w/already. The cat goddesses send good vibes as well. They also wisely predict that justice will prevail in the end! Take care, all.

  2. I didn’t sleep all that well myself – but I have a grocery delivery, so it’s not a bad thing for me to be up earlier than usual. For once I won’t have to worry about getting the frozen things in – but I will have to worry about getting beverages im before they freeze. We are expecting a high of -4°F.

From Daily Kos: “Eight Reasons why Democrats Handled the Issue of Witnesses in Just the Right Way” I’m just going to list all eight, and you can click through to see the reasoning.
    1. We were never going to get 17 votes
    2. The Witnesses they wanted would not have come willingly
    3. New Witnesses May Not Have Been Good Witnesses
    4. The Democrats got what they really wanted
    5. More time is not necessarily good
    6. This is not over
    7. We have other things to do
    8. We will make them own their votes

Cartoon – I’m not sure they are as stiff as a banana. Oh, wait. That’s why they need their party toy.

Blast – So nice to see (hear) one about constancy.

This is probably what Lindsey Graham is visualizing too.

  3. Cartoon: Yep, pretty much.

Hi, WWWendy! Sure hope that you can get your rest, Tom. Relax, and nap. Hope that you have a good day, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.
We had a fierce snowstorm here last night, and today, with frequent electrical outages..so I’m hoping that you get this.

This just in: “Mitch and trump stay in touch.” *pb*
    2. “Lindsey Graham and trump – A friendship based on Komromat.” ~ Ernesto M. ~
    3. “Whatever you do or think, please do not point the finger @House Dems Rep Raskin, Joaquin Castro, Ted Lieu, and the heroic managers who presented the brilliant case and were ready to do more–doing everything possible to exact accountability for our democracy. They did their job.” ~ Murshed Z. ~
    4. Q – “How did the insurrectionists have a pre-made gallows if the insurrection wasn’t planned?” ~ Alicia B. ~
    5. “People who say Lindsey Graham has turned into a raging as-hole can not point to a time in history when he wasn’t.” ~ Andy Borowitz ~

Love the quote from OD. You GO, Ms. Harris!! Lindsey is probably sniffing his hanky on a regular basis now. LOL  Thank you, Joanne.

    • TJI #2 – Some are now suggesting that John McCain was never blind to the real Lindsey. It certainly may be so.
TJI #3 – Murshed is singing my song!

Thanks. I love the picture OD used – that is exactly how I dressed my Kamala portrait doll (a Barbie knockoff, but well made, and the face is not a Barbie face but more like Kamala’s – and the hair is right.)

  4. Hoping tonight is a better night.
    ‘Toon: Spot on!
    Rafferty: Nice.

  5. Cartoon: Fits them perfectly.
    BFTP: Great tune by Gerry.
Sorry to hear that you had  a bad night. Hopefully with Wendy coming over today, she’ll take care of essentials and you can get some rest throughout the day. Hopefully you’ll have a better nights sleep.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  6. This from AlterNet:

“Many Americans see this process for exactly what it is: a chance by a group of partisan politicians seeking to eliminate Donald Trump from the American political scene and seeking to disenfranchise 74 million-plus American voters,” Schoen said on Tuesday, suggesting Democrats fear Trump as a political opponent.

I know that I am talking to the choir but Schoen is complaining about a “group of partisan politicians … seeking to disenfranchise 74 million-plus American voters” when he represents Trump specifically who is seeking to disenfranchise 81 million-plus American voters who voted against Trump by overturning the election.  The Capitol siege and its resulting carnage was a direct consequence of Trump’s stop the steal BS.  Trump along with his Republican enablers seek to disenfranchise 81 million-plus voters.

How is it that a clear minority in the Senate can acquit Trump, a clear and present danger to the country and the world?  I have read the constitution and know the mechanics.  The moral argument for this does not hold up.  It seems that the US has a very serious COVID problem.  Perhaps even more serious is the Republican plague!

    • The founders were trying to prevent the majority, especially if narrow, from riding roughshod over the minority.  But they were assuming a lot more civility than we in fact have.  So now the minority rides roughshod over the majority.  I’m pretty sure that’s not what they intended.    Sigh.

  7. Too much has happened in your own life and in political life over which you have no control whatsoever, TomCat. For me, that is a reason to lose out on sleep. It doesn’t help to tell you to stop worrying about it and rest; it doesn’t work that way. Perhaps I should stop thinking about you so much; when I do it’s the middle of the night in Portland and the vibes may keep you awake. 19

    3:58 Extinct, yet still present.

Cartoon: Even as a banana republic, Republicans aren’t doing well. The banana has a terrible blight.

BFTP: That Gerry Rafferty could put some great songs together. Wonderful memories.

  8. Thanks ang Hurting Hump Day Hugs to all! 19
