Now This News – The Importance of MLK Day. Yes, that’s MLK III.
The New Yorker – 12-minute video from the Capitol Coup. H/T Nameless https://www.democraticunderground.com/emoticons/hattip.gif
This video, or I should say group of videos, from ProPublica was curated from video clips downloaded from Parler before it went dark. It’s designed to provide an immersive experience (which I consider a trigger warning – and they also provide one.) The way it is presented, I really can’t embed it, but I give the link. It is ordered into a timeline and grouped based on general location the videos were taken from. You can pick a location, or click anywhere in the timeline, or scroll down (it’s a very long scroll.) You may have to take some of them off of mute (or vice versa.)
Oh, this is delicious.
Absolute mic drop. Iād love to hear someone answer this question. pic.twitter.com/L8KHaNdYO1

Long, but interesting. Not exactly full of laughs … but it does suggest some pretty funny scenarios, including regarding Presidential Libraries.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
thank you, I, too, would really like someone to answer that young man’s question…..
LP: MLK: American Ghandi!
RA: Both need to be so gone!
NT: WE must remember!
New Yorker: Outrageous sedition and treason!
Twitter: Excellent question!
Grunge: So, does his SS crew have to go to prison with him?
Keith: “…how many Proud Boys got shot?” Hmmmm. Depends on who else gets hurt. No, a standoff would not be a good thing.
Surely someone will tell Trump** that, now that he’s no longer President, the Secret Service agents could become valuable witnesses for the prosecution … and he would refuse them He can do that. If he doesn’t … we shall, I hope, see. But also – the Presidential library cannot be in an outhouse, or even small, because it has to include everything that happened while he was in office. I guess we’ll have to see about that too.
Definitely all for “Expel Them Both”! I’m just not sure we should stop with just two.
“The New Yorker” reporter’s video is both depressing (how can this be happening in MY country?) and yet invaluably informative (did these idiots, after breaching the restrictive perimeter fencing, actually believe they were not committing any crime?). A great resource for the FBI, CIA & NSA – especially once Biden becomes our president!
The Parler compilation of video is even more a treasure trove of criminal offenders. The labor in parsing it to put it together is amazing – and much appreciated … not only by me, but again by the FBI, CIA and NSA.
Sadly the Tweet apparently everyone wants to see the answer to has NO CC.
I’m not asking for a transcript – but I’d surely appreciate a pithy Cliffs Notes summary.
Very enlightening the restrictions placed on retired presidents. Looks like the “Fish Bowl” continues even after you’re out of the Oval Office.
Readers Digest version of the question (cleaned up a bit) is “What the *** is it about America that you love when you hate everyone in it, hate the Constitution, hate etc. and etc.” I’ll try to expand on that.
OK here’s a list of things they hate:
I always wonder what exactly Conservatives mean when they say they “love America.” They hate
most of the people who live in it
civil liberties afforded by the Constitution
separation of church and state
claim they love the economy but hate all the states that make up most of it
government and people wh are anti-government
rich because you think they are part of a conspiracy to fuck your kids
poor because you think they’re lazy
the country’s national beauty because it gets in the way of industry
indistry because it “keeps giving jobs away” to immigrants
immigrants for taking things you feel entitled to
liberals because you thenk they’re too entitled
government interference because they hate big business
big business for being too globalized
globalism for taking jobs away from American workers
American workers for unionizing for better jobs
when you say you love America, what aspect of America are you actually talking about?
LP: A beautiful tribute.
RA: ACCOUNTABILITY FIRST
NTN: After making it a federal holiday in 1983, MLK Day should get a serious update in 2021 as the start of a new era.
TNY: What strikes me most is that this is a bunch of people who have absolutely no idea what to do. All they do is talk and scream and swear, just like their great leader. Emptiness rules.
Sara O’Grady: Who is this guy and why isn’t he running as a Representative yet?
Grunge: Since Trump has disregarded every possible rule or law during his so-called presidency, it would be fitting if all these rules and laws regarding the period after that presidency are disregarded too. Trump shouldn’t waver the secret service protection, which he won’t because he can’t miss the attention, but pay for it instead (finally). Otherwise, he’ll still be making a buck out of housing them and feeding them at Mar-a-Lago and every other failing enterprise of his at Trump prices.
KO: He’s got a point there. For most Americans, it is virtual anyway, so why not level the playing field and make it virtual for all.
LP: Beautiful and healing words by Dr. King.
All excellent.
KO knocks it out of the ballpark, imho.
Thank you, Joanne for post.
Thanks JD!
LP – Amen
RA – Amen – Them and more!
G -Trump** was never President and never followed rules.
Keith – I would not be surprised, bur saming him to hell id unfair to Satan.
Great videos.
LP: Love watching and listening to MLK Jr. Wise words to remember and still use daily.
RA: I hope these two plus all of their co conspirators are held accountable to their evil actions. Prosecute and demote them all.
NTN: I agree with Lona’s comment.
HELP!
I’m having issues with my WiFi here. I have a unit I can plus in, but it warns that people outside of my home can log onto it. Do any of you know what I can do to help my Wifi issue? Sick of my laptop losing Internet. It’s been happening for over a week now.
