Only 15 Presidents have failed to get re-elected

Only 5 Presidents have failed to win the popular vote

Only 4 Presidents have been impeached or resigned

Only 1 President has done ALL THREE!!

So Donald Trump is the FIRST and ONLY  U.S. president elected while losing the popular vote (TWICE), impeached, and then fail to be reelected as an incumbent.

FAILED REELECTION

Fifteen American presidents sought reelection as the incumbent, but failed:

John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Martin van Buren, Millard Fillmore, Franklin Pierce, Andrew Johnson, Chester A. Arthur, Grover Cleveland, Benjamin Harrison, William Howard Taft, Herbert Hoover, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush and DONALD J. TRUMP.

LOST POPULAR VOTE

Five presidents were elected while losing the popular vote:

John Quincy Adams, Rutherford B. Hayes, Benjamin Harrison, George W. Bush and DONALD J. TRUMP TWICE!

IMPEACHED OR RESIGNED

Three sitting presidents have been impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives.  And one resigned just prior to being impeached.

Andrew Johnson, Bill Clinton, Richard M. Nixon and DONALD J. TRUMP.

In an effort to redeem himself, Donnie tries to read a Christmas story to kids – but even fails at that!

(Apologies to JD if she’s posted this before.  I don’t remember it, and I couldn’t find it on a cursory search.)

And if you’re looking for the perfect Christmas ornament to represent what a god-awful $hitty year 2020 has been, here it is:

Wishing everyone HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

  1. I like the list showing the Presidents, and dt’s notorious time in the WH.
Being the recipient of all three…WOW!
    Thank you, Nameless for post.

  2. Perfect Nameless. 03

    A dawg  🐶  and a Trump*  💩.

  3. I love the ornament of course – and it wonderful to have a graph showing.

No, I was going to post it today, but I have enough without it, and I have a bookmark now.  Mr. Sassy (apparently his real name) specializes in learning about, and educating others about, deepfakes.  So there;s more where that came from.  Thank you for putting it up.  It fits better here.

  4. Dumpy did keep his word, you know, he ran the county just like his businesses, into the ground.  An outstanding achievement.
Sassy J: He can’t read to children, one has to be able to relate to children in order to do that.  the only child he can relate to is the spoiled little twit within.

  5. Knowing how little attention Trump pays to detail, he probably would see this trifecta as a laudation on his presidency. As soon as he sees “Trump is the only one who” in a sentence, he stops reading and his ego takes over. But we can read and had a great laugh at his expense. Thanks for that, Nameless.

Mr Sassy is a Trump look-alike and does a wonderful job impersonating Trump, including a messy make-up job. Sassy will find it hard to find another job now, looking so much like the most detested man in the world.

  6. The dog ornament tells us exactly what type of year 2020 has been.
Like the list you’ve created. tRump accomplishing all three. Winning at what he’s best at…a real loser.
I have to agree with Mitch that tRump definitely has done to our country what he’s done to all of his businesses, ran it down to the ground.
Sassy Justice: That’s exactly the way tRump would be, turns a Christmas story into his own ugly fake tale.
    Thanks Nameless

  7. Well, at least tRump made a unique Presidential accomplishment!

Meanwhile – do any of you think that Jimmy Carter will live to be 100?

  8. Thanks Nameless–an illuminating graphic.  However, I might have been inclined to give Carter an asterisk since he suspended his campaign to focus on the hostages, unlike the others.
