It’s another hectic day here in the CatBox. The notary that was coming yesterday caught cold, so we need to reschedule. The Nameless News is good. His Echocardiogram was comparable to earlier versions. He gets to do hos pharmacological stress test as an outpatient. He goes home today. Both the OT and PT cleared him to get out of bed and walk around on hid own power. His view if that? “YIPPEE!” At last text, he was dressed, packed, and waiting to go home, so I trust we’ll be hearing from him before too long. This morning I have another video meeting with prison volunteers and former prisoners. My Broncos are playing the Raiders this afternoon, but it won’t be televised here. Have a great day.

Cartoon:
A Fwd. from Mitch (Ours, not BBMMM):
Dear Red States,
If you manage to steal this election, TOO, we’ve decided we are leaving.
We intend to form our own country, and we’re taking the other Blue states with us.
In case your aren’t aware, that includes: California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and all of the Northeast. We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation and especially to the people of the new country of New California.
To sum up briefly:
You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states.
We get stem cell research and the best beaches.
We get the Statute of Liberty. You get Dollywood.
We get Intel and Microsoft. You get WorldCom.
We get Harvard. You get Ole’ Miss.
We get 85% of America’s venture capital and entrepreneurs. You get Alabama.
We get two-thirds of the tax revenue, You get to make the red states pay their fair share.
Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22% lower than the Christian Coalition’s, we get a bunch of happy families.
Please be aware that Nuevo California will be pro-choice and anti-war, and we’re going to want all our citizens back from Iraq and Afghanistan at once.
With the Blue States in hand, we will have firm control of 80% of the country’s fresh water, more than 90% of the pineapple and lettuce, 92% of the nation’s fresh fruit, 95% of America’s quality wines, 90% of all cheese, 90% of the high tech industry, 95% of the corn and soybeans (thanks Iowa), all living redwoods, sequoias, and condors, all the Ivy League and Seven Sister schools plus Stanford, Cal Tech, UCLA, Berkeley and MIT.
With the Red States, on the other hand you will have to cope with 92% of all U.S. mosquitoes, nearly 100% of the tornadoes, 90% of the hurricanes, 99% of all Southern Baptists, virtually 100% of all televangelists, Rush Limbaugh, Bob Jones University, Clemson and the University of Georgia.
We get Hollywood and Yosemite, thank you.
Additionally, 38% of those in the Red states believe Jonah was actually swallowed by a whale, 62%believe life is sacred unless we’re discussing war, the death penalty, or gun laws, 44% say that evolution is only a theory, 53% that Saddam was involved in 9/11 and 61% of you crazy bastards believe you are people with higher morals than we lefties.
Finally, we are taking the good pot, too. You can have that dirt weed you get from Mexico.
Peace out,
Blue States
Short Take:
From YouTube (a blast from Woodstock): Jimi Hendrix The Star Spangled Banner American Anthem Live at Woodstock 1969
Seeing this in person at Woodstock, I felt swelled with pride that this is my country too, and I will not let Nazis take it away from me. During this transition, I feel the same thing. RESIST!!
65 Days Until the Big FLUSH!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Good news! Yay! Looking forward to hearing from Nameless! Sorry you had to delay, but very glad you were’t exposed to anything. I have groceries coming today, but I should have plenty of time to comment first.
UN-you-know-what-believable!
Cartoon – a great memory for you.
Mitch – they’re durned lucky to get Dollywood. Dolly’s no racist. Graceland probably suits them better.
Jimi – I think that’s pretty close to how we all feel. Possibly with a soupçon of grief that “they” now includes so many people we thought were not evil.
P. S. please, everyone, click back to Everyday Erinyes and read Lona’s poat there.
re: your picture (tweet) of Mallory McMorrow: ‘No one is listening to us’.
I feel a great sense of sadness in people not complying or believing that covid-19 is real.
The deaths are there to see every single day, no matter the number…the death(s) are important to the
families, relatives, neighbors, teachers, pastors…and other humans who knew them…or not.
For those who don’t care or believe, that’s their call. For me, I feel a sense of Zozobra, especially for the ones affected by this calamity. From the young to the old, I grieve for the souls lost to covid.
My prayer…. as I lay my head on my pillow every night… is to find a cure. Amen.
Unfortunately, the tweet didn’t go all the way to the punch line …
Cartoon: What a great fantastic, and memorable day for you, and us too!!
FW from Mitch: How I wish I did live in a blue state! Dang it!! I’m gonna have to sneak out from this state to join y’all !!! And yes, shhhhh…..I’m hoping that someone w/share the good stuff too, lol. Thanks, Mitch for sharing, and Tom for posting this, I enjoyed reading the letter.
BfW: Jimi was phenomenal playing his guitar and belting out the music! Good memories of listening to this one too. His Purple Haze was my favorite….’scuse me while I kiss the sky!’
I can’t wait till the BIG flush comes, I’m so ready!
Great news! So glad and relieved to read that Nameless is feeling good, and that he’s has been discharged from the hospital, and that he’s home. Home is where the Heart is, imho. Hope the notary gets better too, and that your video meeting w/your guys goes good. Get a nap in, take good, good care, and Thanks, Tom.

Cartoon: A memorable day indeed. Must of been an exciting day for you.
Forward from Mitch: Enjoyed reading the letter. Love living in a Blue State. Thank you, Mitch for sharing this with us and you too TC for posting it.
BFTP: Great song. Wow you got to see it in person, you lucky one. Jimi was so powerful when he played that guitar. I loved his music.
Happy to hear that Nameless is getting to go home. Will continue to pray for him.
Hope your video meeting with the prison volunteers and former prisoners went well this morning.
Why is it that they never televise your Bronco games in your area?
Hope your day was a good one.
Take care. Thanks TomCat
Got here late.
Nameless news is wonderful; best of luck!
I’m in a red state also, have been for 1 1/2 years, see fools around the place all the time; somewhat fewer Trump flags.
Woodstock: I was one of the last people leaving as Jimi was playing. Then we lost Jimi and Janis in the same year.
Lona, Lona, be well!
Sorry for being so late with my update but Molly and I are fine!
All brigades in the area, and those of the whole of Queensland, I think, have learned their lessons from the horrific fires at the end of last year and they didn’t take any chances with this one as many of the conditions it started under were very similar to those of last year. So they called out a large number of fire trucks and as soon as it became clear that their hoses couldn’t reach the flames deep within the gully even when coupled to one another, the water-bombing helicopters were called in.
This is the first time these were used in this area, so it scared a lot of people in thinking the fire was out of control but they did a wonderful job to contain the fire in a way that was manageable for the firies when night fell and the helicopters had to stop flying. They continued control and by morning, after taking down some smouldering trees, the all-clear was given.
Today was another scorching hot day and the wind had changed (in my) direction so I’m glad some patrolling from the air and the road is continuing, especially since the forecasted thunderstorm with a sprinkle of rain is nowhere to be seen. But I think I can unpack my suitcases again. For now.
Big sigh of relief. All that because some idiot lit a campfire where no fire truck can come despite the state-wide warnings of dangerously high fire levels.
Glad to read your reply, Lona, and that you and Molly are okay.
Stay safe, and continued prayers to you for your safety and well being. Hugs!!
The idiots you have there that act as though the threat of fire is not real are just like the idiots here that deny Trump* virus!
I am so glad you (and Molly) are OK – and so glad the fire was controlled so quickly.
A little trip from someone who hates being away from home overnight (and also has mobility issues): I keep a suitcase pre-packed with duplicate toiletries, duplicate first aid supplies, even a duplicate noise generator – duplicates of everything I can – even duplicate laptop accessories (and some accessories I don’t need if using it at home.) Then all I have to pack is outerwear, the laptop itself, and food (because of my allergies.) If I didn’t, I would never get anywhere, because I’d be so worn out from packing that I couldn’t move.
Glad to hear that you and Molly are doing okay. Plus that the Fire Departments got the fire under control.
I will continue to pray that you and Molly are safe and that they can continue to keep a firm hand on the fire.
Plus that Mother Nature calms down the heat and winds.
Stay safe and keep us posted, Lona
Thanks and tired OGIM Hugs to all!
