This has been a busy week for me what with a bit of medical mayhem (nothing serious), correcting the grammar, spelling and presentation of a midterm exam for a friend, finishing up my Indigenous studies course through the U of Alberta (online) with about 90%, getting the post about Remembrance Day/Veterans’ Day out and of course following some of the snivelling of the Republicans and der Führer of the 5th Reich. Talk about unadulterated bull shit! I thought that we all need a little lighter fare at this time.
If anybody ever needed proof that the Trump elevator was not capable of going to the top, Eric Trump provided it in abundance! This from The Hill— ABC News reported last week that the hotline, which also directed callers to a voicemail box, was flooded with messages mocking the campaign in the wake of President-elect Joe Biden winning the race for the White House.
The president’s son, Eric Trump, last week claimed that the Democratic National Committee was “spamming our voter fraud hotline,” although he did not provide evidence for the allegation.
Eric Trump @EricTrump
The @DNC is spamming our voter fraud hotline to bog down the thousands of complaints we are receiving! Wonder what they have to hide.
Or how about this tweet from Eric Trump which appeared last Tuesday — notice the date!
And here I thought that Trump was both trying to stop the count and suing states for accepting ballots after election day. This seems like a twofer, but not the kind you want! As I said, the elevator does not go to the top! My 3 cats are smarter than Eric!
Then there is this from the New York Times — In his first big interview as a senator-elect, Tommy Tuberville, Republican of Alabama, misidentified the three branches of the federal government, claimed erroneously that World War II was a battle against socialism and wrongly asserted that former Vice President Al Gore was president-elect for 30 days. …
“Our government wasn’t set up for one group to have all three branches of government — wasn’t set up that way,” Mr. Tuberville said. “You know, the House, the Senate, and the executive.” …
“That’s concerning to me, that we’re to the point now where we’ve got almost half the country voting for something that this country wasn’t built on,” Mr. Tuberville said. “I tell people, my dad fought 76 years ago in Europe to free Europe of socialism.”
World War II was a global battle against fascism. …
And in another exchange, he erroneously said that Mr. Gore, the Democratic presidential nominee in 2000, was president-elect for 30 days during an intense, protracted recount and legal battle. Neither Mr. Gore nor George W. Bush were considered the president-elect during that process.
Is this the best that Trump and Republicans can do? I think Tuberville took one too many hits to his cranium! What is worse, what does this say about the Alabama voters who sent him to Washington?
And again from the lighter side, NYDailyNews.com— The late John McCain may have gotten the last world in his rivalry with President Trump — and it was delivered by the war hero’s daughter Meghan McCain.
That comment parodies remarks made by Trump mocking the former Arizona senator for being a prisoner of war in Vietnam. …
“I like people that weren’t captured,” Trump said in 2015, claiming his fellow Republican statesman, who died in 2018, wasn’t respectful toward Trump supporters. …
Trump also called the Navy veteran a “loser” because he lost to Barack Obama in the 2008 election.
I wonder if Trump sees himself in McCain as he lost the whole country to Joe Biden? Karma can be such a bitch!

Yes, your weekly schedule sounds very busy. All good.
I would think that incoming folks would know the 3 branches of government…most middle school students have learned, and are knowledgeable on that subject. Perhaps he? as an incoming politician should take a test about US History?? See how much he knows about the facets of our government?
Yes, dt talking about McCain ‘being a loser.’ Wow…who’s the loser now?
I enjoy Seth too, and his show is on target for the news! (still watching)..
Thanks, Squatch. I briefly considered filling in something, but I’ve run out of saved stuff, and didn’t have the heart or the energy to search.
That tweet -f Eric’s – I don’t do Twitter, but those who do say there’s a way one can tell that it was scheduled in advance.. Which means he made the error over a week before it appeared, didn’t notice that it didn’t appear when it should have, and forgot for a week the time bomb was sitting there.
Love the McCain meeme – if fact, there’s that ditch. Who knew Meghan had a sense of humour?
I also love Seth but haven’t seen him for a while. Thanks for helping me catch up!
Good stuff, Lynn.
Tuberville seems so representative of the stereotype of Alabamans! My step-son who lives outside of Mobile says that the only thing separating them from the folks of Mississippi, is that they have more teeth.
Thanks Lynn–laughter is good medicine and the Trump clan do excel at absurdities where laughter is an appropriate response, along with even funnier memes making that point.
…Mr. Tubberville is a perfect example of why sports excellence (although I am not sure about that even) does not make one an expert on politics or other issues……same goes for entertainers…
Wow… you’ve had a busy schedule this week.
Eric: Seems like he’s trying to follow in his daddy’s footsteps…..moron.
John McCain: tRump had no right to speak of John McCain being a poisoner of war like he did. tRump getting out of serving his country because of bone spur…What a despicable rotten loser. In more ways than one.
I love watching Seth.
Know we are all counting the days when tRump will be out of office for good.
Thanks Lynn
Thanks, Lynn, I just love Seth. Keep his videos coming, please.
It’s not so much Tommy Tuberville’s incredibly stupid (read vile) statements why I’ve given up on America for the forseable future, it’s the fact that more than 70 million people have voted for Tuberville’s role model Trump, which is a higher number than in 2016 AND the people of Alabama have chosen Tuberville above a Democrat.

Thanks Squash. Your schedule may be hectic, but it’s most worthwhile.
