Here are four video clips from Sam’s show last night.  I’m not sure “Enjoy!” is the thing to say – the wit is delightful as always, but the scenarios are not terribly encouraging.

Police and militias Parts I and II – Those “people you never heard of” are called “ordinary American voters.” And they are only in the “dark shadows” because they have lost their jobs and cannot pay their electric bills. Athletes (and other entertainers) do not lose their citizenship or their humanity when they enter their professions. Of course, the far right never considered anyone who is not in lock step with them as citizens, or humans, in the first place.

Marginalizing Women – Why are women suckers for this stuff? Because we have been taught from birth that their only value lies in their appearance. My mother worked hard to avoid that – which had the unintended consequence that I spent years feeling that my only value was in my accomplishments. That’s only a little bit better. I’m sure not all men are brought up to believe that they have intrinsic value just because they exist … but that is where the entitled ones come from. I’m sure thoughtful people could come up with something better than any of these – but for society as a whole to accept it? Fuggedaboudit.  (And TomCat – whatever you do, do not go anywhere near Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Goop.”  It would NOT be good for you.)

Expect the worst – Well, this should make Bill Maher and Michael Moore happy. I guess we know what we need to do, don’t we. I might point out that we set ourselves up for this starting twenty years ago by being too nice (and the Supreme Court screwed us as well.)
