To those of us used to Trump’s* tactics, his rhetoric on the violence in our streets merely reflects his PhD (piled higher and deeper) in Bullshitology. However, many of those who are politically naive, like far too many American voters, his message appears to be effective. Therefore Democrats need to be more effective at countering that message. Otherwise this happens.
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden maintains his polling lead over President Donald Trump, though the commander in chief gained ground on the former vice president after the party conventions, according to a Morning Consult poll released Saturday.
According to the poll, Biden leads Trump by six points, polling 50% to Trump’s 44% among likely voters, compared to 52% to 42% before the Republican National Convention, but after the Democratic National Convention.

During and since the RNC, Trump* has focused on the violence in the streets that he has caused by inciting deplorable Republican Sheeple to riot violently.
In Germany in the 1930’s Hitler and the Nazis created the problem of rioting and social unrest. Then they blamed the problem on Jews and leftists. Then they blamed their own extreme violent response against Jews and leftists on the victims. Finally they convinced the public that they and they alone could solve the problem. How is this different from what Trump* and the Republican Reich are trying to do today? It’s isn’t, and I’m not the only one that thinks so.
Expert compares Trump’s politics to fascism
Before today, the Biden campaign has stayed aloof from this, and has let Trump* and the Republican Reich get away with it. That’s why Trump* is gaining ground in the polls. Biden needs to sound more like Portland’s Democratic Mayor, Ted Wheeler, and condemn the violence, condemn all who are committing acts of violence, including left-wing extremists, and condemn the Republican Reich that instigate the violence.

Trump’s politics can’t be compared to fascism – they ARE fascism. Plain and simple.
Every expert and every historian who is not Repubican (and maybe even a few who are but approve) sees this. Many if not most of us have been seeing it for a long time. There was an old WWII training film which addressed this them – I’ll have to look it up.
Interesting coincidence that I had a (much shorter) video too – Indian Visual Planet used a short clip of this to make something that could be shown repeatedly so more might see it. I won’t include it in m post, but I link to it here in case anyone has friends with short attention spans who should see it. I note that the signage is nice. More and more are doing that, but far from everyone. Your mayor not be perfect, but he’s not half bad.

I too watched Joe Biden this morning on CNN when he was speaking in PA. It was like breathe of fresh air. Something our country sure can use.
Bravo Governor Wheeler for standing up to tRump. Liked that he told tRump that he’s the problem and the reason for all of the violence.
President Fascista needs to go. The mayor placed the blame exactly where it belongs.
We don’t have to rehash our points of view on Trumps Fascism here on PP; we saw it coming 4 years ago and unfortunately, time has proved us right. Now it is time for the media and everyone with an ounce of conscience left to acknowledge that Trump and his cronies have created a Fascist hell and America is living in it NOW. Trump owns this hell and not Biden, no matter how much he projects.
Shove your fears out of the way, media, politicians, voters…Americans just like the Mayor of Portland did and speak out. Take to the streets on September 5; Americans have nothing to lose but everything to gain.
