  1. Have a good and productive day! Best to WWWendy! The Friday night massacre can certainly wait util Sunday.

I was just barely smart enough to see this. But I couldn’t have capitalized on it enywhere near this well.

Cartoon – It was in the end a mixed blessing.

Map – Oh, Lord. And we’re still in the first wave.

Past – I remember the song, but did not remember that was the name of the group. That’s quite a mental image, taken together.

  2. Cartoon: Yep, that’s how they see it.
TVU: Idaho has gone up. Clusters of cases at bars in downtown Boise. Gulp! Not good.
    BFTP: Great song!
Hi, Wendy!! Hope you’re doing well.  Rest, and Relax!! Take good care, and enjoy your day, Tom.

This just in: “If Bolton went to an ethics class it was to learn to have none. ~ Marilyn A. ~
    2. “Breonna Taylor couldn’t sleep, neither should Mitch.” ~ Frank C. ~
    3. “Who else is pumped?!? about #corona palooza this weekend?? Y’all have fun! Catch ya in the ICU next weekend!! ~LbcK~
    4. “FL, TX, OK, (ID?) now Covid Petri dishes.” ~ Alicia B. ~
    5. “Keep digging, silly Billy. Your ETTD is now terminal.” ~ James S. ~
    6. “House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler, just invited Geoffrey Berman, Atty for the SDNY, to come testify at a hearing next Wednesday, concerning the actions of the Justice Department.” ~ Kathleen D. ~

    • I know someone who has family in Idaho this week not sure exactly where.)  I blanched when I saw that bright red.  Glad to here it’s-so fr – localized.  fingers crossed.

TJI #3 – Next weekend is probably a little soon.  Probably the following weekend.

TJI #6 – Jerry Nadler is on the ball.  That is quite a saga, and it’s starting to look like Berman may just have the control in the situation.  (Readers Digest version – he cannot be forced to leave unless and until there is a Senate-confirmed replacement.  But I need to read more.)

  3. ‘Toon: too bad the union movement was saddled by the hubris of some leaders, and wound up easy targets for the St. Reagan types!
TVU: What the hell is with W. Va, and Idaho?  To much togetherness, at the wrong time?  what will Oklahoma look like in 2-3 weeks?
BFTP: Love it!  Loved it before I saw the video.
Pat’s #1- Bolton was, apparently, an ass from way back.
              #5- wonderful!

    • Part of the explanation of Idaho is that there aren’t a lot of people, so there weren’t a lot of cases to begin with.  Ithere are hordes of people bar hopping in Boise, the state could easily pick up a baker’s dozen new cases.  But if there were only 50 already, well, there you go – a 25% increas.  It’s a little different from a 25% increase when you have 20,000 cases.

  4. Mitch:  One of the hot spots in WV attributable to a Pentacostal church’s worship (could be only one with how small there numbers have been) that was not in keeping with guidance (not sure it was required).  OR had a similar hot spot emerge last weekend.I know at least several of the states on the downward trends had tested nursing home residents long before the DHHS push, which CA is still finishing having added their own pressures.  Now that things are open, more workers in more different nursing homes are showing positive in the data–too early to know degree residents got infected, but at least a few are starting to show a similarly small number.Downward trends occur when efforts, usually including contact tracing, gets the average number each case infects to average one or less.  Indoor activities or places with singing, like churches, or loud talking, like noisy bars or restaurants, meat packing and other plants with lots of machine noise, increase the dispersion distance (research est. 25 feet minimum)–further with heat/AC systems and amount of exposure (viral load) related to how long a person remains in the situation; thus one person can infect a whole lot of people.
Thanks Pat for letting me know Nadler caught that weekend-might-be-missed event.
Have been thankful TC you had moved and weren’t living downtown still during these days as you cope with your health journey.

  5. Came across two similar posters for *Rump’s super-spreader event in Tulsa tonight:

And one w/ fewer bells and whistles:

  6. Cartoon: Never turns out to be what was intended.
TVU: Yes, it’s skyrocketing in so many states. Wish people would pay attention, but they’re being ignorant like tRump.
BFTP: Great song. The Zombies had many great hits.
Hope you had a great day. That Wendy and you got your chores taken care of.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  7. Enjoy your weekend, TomCat.

2:45 Not edible, not even when gooped.

Update: I share in the reactions of others before me; what is wrong in Idaho?

BFTP: Has been a favourite with me over time. Very recognisable, it distinguishes itself from the mainstream of songs that came out in that year.

  8. No doubt Pence thinks: “I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty, I feel pretty and witty and bright! And I pity
Any girl who isn’t me tonight.”

But *Rump is WAY too svelte!  Need to pack on another 75#-100#!

  9. Thanks, Weekend Hugs, and Amen to all. 22

    The graphics are fantastic!
