It’s a very busy day here in the CatBox with lots of chores for WWWendy and I to to.  Tomorrow is my measuring appointment with my radiation oncologist, but I have a special article to finish writing tonight.  Have a great Sunday.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:54 (average 5:51).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Cartoon:

Godwin’s Law: a common meme used by Republicans, other fascists, pseudo-intellectuals, and people with their heads in the sand or in smellier places, whenever anyone points out the verifiable commonalities between today’s Republican Party and Germany’s National Socialist Party in the mid-1930s.  Germany could have stopped criminal Fuhrer Hitler.  Can we stop criminal Fuhrer Trump*?

Trump* Virus Update:

0503TrumpVirusMap

Trump* virus Cases: 1,162,164

Recovered: 173,910

Short Take:

  1. I suspect I have a clue what that article will be about. Great minds (not stepping on you). Hope all your chores get done with maximum speed and minimum pain. Love to WWWendy.

I’m not embedding this, because it’s so long. It’s ALL of “Hamilton” with no visuals except CC. I suggest bookmarking and listening when you have a long stretch of time and nothing else to do.

Cartoon – Yes, that always seemed so stupid to me. I notice now that they are calling us Nazis (eyeroll) that they are no longer bringing it up.

Map – It doesn’t look like the deaths went up quite as much, but that’s no comfort to those in New York who have refrigerated trucks parked in their neighborhoods because there is nowhere else to go – and the refrigeration is giving out.

There was always such depth of meaning in their work, and this is one of the deepest. How many people ever really listened to it?

  2. Cartoon: Voting BLUE all the way through in November!!! That’s who!
TVU: I believe we stayed with the same #’s as yesterday. That’s good.
Blast: I wore the vinyl off of this 45, love this song!!
Hi, Wendy! Hope that you have a good day, with frequent rests in between your chores. Take good, good care, and I hope that your visit (tomorrow) with your radiation oncologist goes good for you. Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: “Thank you to the government and people of Quatar from the people of New York. We are grateful for your assistance in helping send critical supplies and for the donations of aid. ~ Andrew Cuomo ~
    2. “The President of the US calling Nicole Wallace a ‘dog’ is a shameful but not shocking disgrace. Where is Melania and her #Be Best campaign#? The amount of vulgar bullying coming from Trump’s twitter account is setting a horrible example for the rest of the country.” ~ Eugene Gu, MD. ~
    3. Donald Trump Jr. – Q – “What’s Biden hiding?” A – “Where’s daddy’s tax returns?” ~ Rep Eric Swalwell ~
    4. “Another piece of advice from the President: Trump suggested today that Americans wash their hands with boiling water. When asked to comment, Dr. Birx said, “The President was just spit-balling.” ~ Al Franken ~
    5. Sadly…”one Corona virus death in the United States was reported every 44 seconds during the month of April.” ~ Ryan Struyk ~

  3. ‘Toon: Just because there is a statistical connection, does not mean that the analogy is not accurate!
TVU: Let’s see what happen when those brilliant red states have been opened up for a while.  I’m guessing that it will not be pretty.
BFTP: “Fools said I, you do not know, silence like a cancer grows…echoed in the well of silence…neon god they made.”  The Orange God?  Boy, would he ever like to have some neon!  “Well of silence!” Talk about analogy, the well is the emptiness in his followers’ heads.
Hi Wendy, please follow TC’s advice about masks, and gloves.

  4. This just in – apparently, it’s not just humans who are binge watching these days.

  5. Cartoon: The R’s and their supporters sure do love name calling.
TVU: Scary to see that it continues to climb upward here. Like I mentioned yesterday, all these states opening up early are insane. People’s health should come first, not business goals.
BFTP: Great tune. Loved Simon and Garfunkel.
Hope you and Wendy had a good day and that your chore list got taken care of.
Best of luck at your measuring appointment with your radiation oncologist tomorrow.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  6. I hope your special article didn’t take too much of your energy. TomCat, and that you are well rested before going to the radiologist.

3:09 Saved you from its sting.

Cartoon: Call them neo-nazis is they’re happier with that.

Update: Without blinking an eye, Trump is now ‘predicting’ 100,000 deaths before the virus is under control. From now on, he’ll probably take his cue from Jair Bolsonaro, president of Brazil, and repress all reports on cases and deaths and maintain that the pandemic is not that bad.

BFTP: This song has lost none of its meaning and beauty over the past 55 years.

And in the naked light I saw
    Ten thousand people, maybe more
    People talking without speaking
    People hearing without listening

A perfect description of a Trump rally.
