On Tuesday, a Missouri man named Timothy Wilson made preparations to set off a car bomb at a local hospital in suburban Belton, which was intended as a revolt against the stay-at-home order issued by Belton’s mayor, but his plan was cut short by an FBI raid. When he apparently resisted with a weapon, he ended up being shot and killed.

Everyone does know that the deadline to file income tax returns has been moved to July, right? Mine is ancient history, but I realize many here tend to file closer to the deadline.

Map – That is an encouraging jump in the number of recoveries. Not that we’re out of the woods or even seeing a light at the end of a long, long tunnel, but it is the first day more recoveries than deaths have been reported.
DKos – I don’t suppose anyone can explain to me how he expected to juice his white supremacist credentials by targeting a hospital, for God’s sake. Hospitals take everyone of every color, both as patients and as staff, which means he must have been targeting at leas some white people, and maybe even mostly white people. I know Republicans are tru;y that dumb, but obsessions is usually at least clear on its own ends.
MSNBC – I hope they are able to clean it up a little, though it doesn’t sound like it. There are still a couple of poison pills, or so I understand, though Democrats in the Senate fought valiantly.

Update: That that’s almost 17,000 more cases than yesterday and almost 300 more deaths in just one day. And America is still on the steep end of the curve, doubling every three days. Horrible.
DK: What? Surely this is fake news. Timothy Wilson must have been insane; in a revolt against the stay-at-home order issued by Belton’s mayor, he had made some criminal sense if he had targetted said mayor, not the local hospital. And I know this sounds crude and unfeeling but to some extent it was fortunate he was killed outright and not badly wounded ending up in an IC-bed needed for a coronavirus patient.
It doesn’t bode well, though, this happening before the lockdown had even started. I hate to think what cabin fever will do to the likes of Wilson and what will happen when they’ve had all the time to tinker away in their garages.
MSNBC: Is it very wrong of me to hope that Republican Thomas Massey catches a very severe but not lethal dose of COVID-19 on his way back home to Kentucky which he has to battle through in complete isolation so he doesn’t infect anyone else?
