It’s a yucky day here at the CatBox.  My stomach has heartburn has been screaming all morning.  I have to stay up, because Providence Home Medical Equipment is swapping-out a six pack of the portable O2 tanks I use, when I’m out and about.  TGIF to all!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:57 (average 5:49).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Cartoon:

Republicans alternate between blaming Obama, Hillary, Nancy and Bernie.

Short Takes:

Froom YouTube (Washington Post Channel): Resurfaced video shows Bloomberg referring to transgender people as ‘some guy wearing a dress’

We knew Bloomberg [R-NY] was racist and misogynist. Add homophobic to his unsuitable list.  RESIST!!

From Washington Post: Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) mounted a new defense Wednesday for the toxicity emanating from pockets of his presidential campaign’s supporters, implying it was possible Russian actors were again manipulating social media to incite Democratic divisions.

Sanders’s language was indirect, offered on the debate stage here as his opponents faulted him for the behavior of his most strident fans. It drew criticism from experts in disinformation, who said they had no direct evidence the Kremlin had masqueraded as Sanders voters to interfere in the 2020 race much as Russian trolls had done four years earlier.

“All of us remember 2016, and what we remember is efforts by Russians and others to try to interfere in our elections and divide us up,” said the senator from Vermont. “I’m not saying that’s happening, but it would not shock me.”

I tend to doubt that, because I remember the toxicity of many ‘Bernie Bros’ toward me in 2016, because, as a Bernie supporter, I committed to voting for Hillary, after Bernie asked his supporters to do so. ‘Bernie Bros’ were a factor in my switch to Liz Warren this year. I understand that some of the hate-mavens, threatening Democrats who disagree, are employees on Bernie’s paid staff. If so, he needs to identify and fire them immediately. That said, I would not put such skullduggery past Putin [R-RU] and his Puppet Pervert Trump* either.  RESIST!!

From YouTube (Robert Reich Channel): Bloomberg Flounders, Warren Rebounds, and Bernie Brings the Heat

Of course the Reich on the left, Robert Reich, is right. Liz and Bernie were head and shoulders above the rest. And he’s right that the debate should have focused more on the evil Reich on the Right, the Republican Reich, and their criminal Fuhrer Trump*. I particularly liked how Robert used FDR as an example of democratic socialism. If Bloomberg [R-NY] wins the nomination in a brokered convention, it will destroy the Democratic Party and probably, the USA with it.  RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast from the past): Bad Moon Rising – Creedence Clearwater Revival (HQ – 5.1 Studio )

Ah… the memories!  RESIST!!

Vote Blue!!

  1. 5:43 I’m starting to think of the color of the jellyfish itself as “screen purple.” It’s not IMO purple, but on screen it’s called “purple” all. the. time.

I suspected you would already have this … but copied it just in case.  (I hope I didn’t steal from tomorrow.)

Cartoon – I wouldn’t be surprised if there are Republicans who seriously think he time-traveled to write it.

Bloomberg – I didn’t see the vid, but I’ve been reading about it all over the web. So stupid. Ignorant, of course, but when ignorance can be fixed and the person chooses not to do so, then it’s stupidity.

WaPo – I remember the ire of the Bernie Bros vividly. And some of it was indeed from people who had progressive credentials. In those cases, it was generally so far removed from their previous personas that it gave me the impression they had gone crazy. Mass hysteria? Or Republirussian brainwashing? I’ve been leaning to the latter, but I admit it’s a gut feeling and not evidence. I do believe there’s a mix, and that it might not even be possible to separate them out.

RR – The debate, and particularly Warren, was sizzling hot, yes. It was also the most watched primary debate in history (or else the most watched any debate of all time, I’m not sure.) (P.S. – If you haven’t already, you can add Katie Linde to Katie Porter and Kate McKinnon as the Sharp Katies”)

Past – I do remember this. Great song, (I had a friend who had a cat named “Creedence.”)

  2. Cartoon: Good Grief!
WPo: re: Bloomberg threw the stone at them all with his words, but it came back hitting him in the head.
    Ain’t Karma grand?
WaPo: We don’t need to hear the hate…not now, or ever. Sanders needs to investigate his paid staff too, for the negativity and threats.
RR: Ms. Warren came out the clear winner (to me) with her gloves off. Really good debate too.
BFTP: Excellent music, good vibes. My favorite –  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKxtnlWqDZE

Boy, what a bummer for you that you’re not feeling good. Hope that you get to relax and relax later today.
Take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

This just in: Watched Brian William’s show last night, his words on the 11th hour:
“Sad word that funeral services are pending this evening after the death of outrage earlier today. Outrage officially died of exhaustion though buoyed at the very end by the one bright spot. The realization that it’s close relative Apathy survives and is thriving – Russia tampering in the 2020 dt re-elections.”

Joanne: ‘Ghost riders in the sky’ is a great one too, and I like PP’s revised words to the song too, excellent! thx.

  3. ‘Toon: And it came from a time when the “masses” were incredibly downtrodden!
    WPC: Bingo!
WaPo: It may be that just because these folks work for, campaign for good guy Bernie, they may have fallen into the same emotional, mental, trap that the MAGA Bros. are in.
RRC: I remember “the old coalition,” warmly.  I’m afraid that the DNC will screw Bernie again, and as Reich points out, get Dumpass re-elected!
BFTP: I love CCR, and recall the political, and social, context from which they, and so much of the wonderful music of the ’60’s emanated!  I hope that Bad Moon eats Dumpy’s ass!

  4. The trouble with communism is it looks good on paper, but is unworkable in real life. Same with trickle-down economics.

There is definitely a bad moon rising – and even if we do have a Blue Tsunami and political bloodbath in November, it may be too late to save this country from serious trouble. Batten down the hatches, and build Knowledge Arks!

  5. WPC: Speak or do evil and it …Comes back to bite him good.
    WP: Agree with Pat.
RR: Ms Warren was outstanding at the last debate. Seen her on the View the other morning and she was still on fire regarding Bloomberg.
BFTP: Great song by CCR. Feel that their songs speaks truth of the current political affairs that is going on right now. Sure wish it wasn’t.
Wish that you’d get to feeling better, TC. Hope you were able to get some rest today,
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  6. 3:03 What a difference a colour filter makes.

Cartoon: The most misunderstood manifest ever? Note that the manifest is in German.

WP1: Now tell me again how Bloomberg is different from Trump.

WP2: The thought had come to my mind too. It may well be a little of both. But that doesn’t absolve Bernie from identifying and throwing his toxic followers from the campaign

RR: I find it utterly shocking that there could be even a slight possibility that Democrats would have Bloomberg as their presidential candidate. With that possibility in mind, I’ll refrain from using “vote blue no matter who” until Bloomberg is out of the race.

BFTP: Many of the CCR songs we’ve enjoyed here lately had titles that are very fitting to the current times; Bad Moon Rising again being one of them. But even without those titles, I love hearing and seeing those songs from one of my favourite bands of that era.

  7. Unfortunately, the YouTube video does not have CC.

But I would strongly agree w/ R. Reich, as you pointed out, that they need to start focusing on the occupant in our Oval Office.

Hopefully in the next debate next week they will transition and began outlining how they would tackle *Rump.

    • If you mean how they would tackle Trump in the debates, sure.  I guess.  But I don’t know that I want to know too exactly how they would, if elected, tackle Trump.  I have a feeling that we are going to need an element of surprise there in order to succeed peacefully, and I don’t want too many details to get out so that he (of course I mean those of his remaining staff who have brains) can counter them.

  8. Thanks ans worn out Hugs to all. 19
