A Dominionist cult, commonly known as ‘the family’ holds a supposedly non-partisan annual religious event called the National Prayer Breakfast.  Presidents (and Residents) of the United States routinely attend.  It’s normally pretty low key, as the family uses it to present themselves as mainstream and cover up who they really are and what they really do.  But someone forgot to tell that to the criminal Fuhrer Trump*.

At the 68th, and perhaps last, National Prayer Breakfast, the main remarks were made by the former president of the American Enterprise Institute (and Post columnist) Arthur C. Brooks, who spoke on the themes of his wonderful 2019 book “Love Your Enemies.” President Trump then prefaced his speech by saying: “Arthur, I don’t know if I agree with you. But I don’t know if Arthur’s going to like what I’m going to say.”

It was a strange moment in U.S. religious history. The command to love your enemies, of course, came from Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount. “Love your enemies, bless those that curse you, do good to them that hate you.” It might be expected for a president to express how difficult obeying such a mandate can be. Trump decided to dispute the command itself. And some in the crowd laughed.

The purpose of Trump’s sermon at the Hilton was, in fact, to put his enemies on notice. Those who pursued impeachment were “very dishonest and corrupt people.” “They know what they are doing is wrong,” he continued, “but they put themselves far ahead of our great country.” Congressional Republicans, in contrast, had the wisdom and strength “to do what everyone knows was right.”

Trump proceeded to make a thinly veiled attack against Mitt Romney of Utah, the only Republican senator to vote for the president’s removal: “I don’t like people who use their faith as justification for doing what they know is wrong.” And then a shot at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.): “Nor do I like people who say, ‘I’ll pray for you,’ when I know that is not so.”… [emphasis added]

Of course, every insult Trump* hurled at Democrats was a projection of what he and his Republicans Reich routinely do.

Trump waves ‘acquitted’ headline, takes shot at Mitt Romney in speech

Portman has his head up Trump’s* ass. The only message that Senate Republicans delivered is that there is nothing too evil for Senate Republicans to help Trump evade the consequences for doing it.

Joe Reads Bible To Critique Trump’s Prayer Breakfast Speech

Joe should not be surprised that the so-called believers there sided with Trump instead of Jesus. The NPV is sponsored by the Fellowship Foundation, aka ‘the family’. A Dominionist cult, they believe that they need to take over government to make the earth fit to receive Republican Supply-side Jesus on his return. Their vehicle they use to achieve this end is the Republican Reich. They are NOT Christians. Not all Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians are Dominionists, but all Dominionists are Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians.

Lawrence: Prayer Breakfast Rant Shows Trump Doesn’t Understand What Love Is

Very astute, Lawrence. The inability to experience love in relationships is a common symptom of Narcisistic Personality Disorder.

I’ve heard it said that Trump* has no soul. But he has what he is… an ass-soul!

  1. Actually, a lot of people don’t know what love is. And I don’t only mean those who confuse love and sexual desire. No, I’m thinking of people who don’t understand that love is not just a feeling, it is also an action. Arthur Brooks might call what I call the action of love “faking it” – and that’s OK. What it is, is asking yourself, “If I felt love for that person, what would I do?” and then do it.

Still, Lawrence is right. Not to feel love for some people is normal and must be dealt with. Not to feel any kind of love ever is not normal. It is inhuman. Maybe “lizard person” is right when describing hin – although I have seen lizards (particularly geckos and skinks) who showed more kindness than this Malignancy in Office does or could.

  2. No sense of empathy, or caring for another. It’s all about him.

CNN: Hey wait!!! a minute!!! Isn’t dt waving around and hawking the newspapers (USA Today & WaPo) to show his acquittal?

Aren’t they the ‘FAKE NEWS’ according to him, that he repeatedly barks??

  3. Let’s see if we can maybe find *Rump’s own words that will inform of us WRT his “Christian faith” beliefs …

Ah, yes – this looks like an excellent representative example of *Rump’s “faith” in action:

So, WRT his appearances at the National Prayer Breakfast AFTER his election, I’d rely on what Maya Angelou said:

  4. I seem to recall that several years ago, D Judas Trump got his knickers in a twist when others said that he was not a person of religious faith.  He came back with “how does anybody know what my faith stance is?”, of course not in those exact words, and also commented that he has a Bible at his bedside.  How disingenuous now that he should say that he doubts Pelosi prays and that he said “I don’t like people who use their faith as justification for doing what they know is wrong,” in an obvious reference to Romney.  What a case of projection in the most hideous way.

As I said yesterday: “They (Republicans) have their noses so far up Trump’s ass that Trump should have the giggles from the tonsil tickling.” Trump definitely is a Judas as he betrays the admonishments of Jesus in the most basic ways.

The end of Trump cannot come too soon!

  5. He is a disgrace. To speak down of the people like he did. Truly despicable.
tRump has never exhibited Love. He’s always speaking and showing HATRED.
We certainly need to get him out one way or another, or our country is in big SH*T if we have to deal with this as*hole another 4 years.
That goes to all of his rotten r’s too.

  6. When will the Media and so many Americans stop talking about Trump in terms of surprise, shock, unexpected and such with every new, or rather repeat, attack on people who don’t have their nose up his ass? When will they stop feigning to be shocked when a talibangical National Prayer Breakfast is all about him, all about dehumanizing his enemies in hate speech with a blasphemous cherry on top.

There was nothing unexpected about his behaviour, nothing more shocking than he has already done a thousand times before, nothing surprising after having done the same thing every year at this meeting. Stop pretending, now is the time to start telling it like it is.

  7. I remember back in what seems now the “good old days” of the Bush/Cheney years thinking that the country had really gone to shit. Would love to go back in time to warn the younger version of me that the nightmare hasn’t even come close to starting.
The nagging fear I have now is that we’re not at the end of this nightmare or even the middle. That the point we’ve reached is just the end of the beginning.

    • I fear that, you’re right, Beach.  I called Crawford Caligula’s regime the Fourth Reich, and now without good cause.  Had I only known what the Fifth Reich would bring! 13

  8. If tRump does have any religion at all, he worships Mammon. He could be our first atheist POTUS – unfortunate, since he is the sort of creep who gives atheism a bad name. Any genuine Christian sees right through his insincere, blasphemous codswallop. Anybody who thinks tRump is a Christian is not a Christian at all.

  9. Thanks, sick Hugs, and Amen to all! 01

  10. Trump: (Since we are going Biblical, for the moment) Lucifer in a suit and tie!
