Itβs that time of week again, and here are 3 great video clips from Samβs show last night. Enjoy!
Coronavirus Is Scary! CDC Budget Cuts Make It Scarier
After looking at Rudy, I think I’ll go out and buy face masks. Seriously, with the time I’ll be spending in hospitals, this could be a problem for me. Several of us are in that boat.
Is The Iowa Caucus A Relic of the Past?
I like it that delegates for non-viable candidates get to move to viable ones. However, I’d like to learn what provisions Iowa makes to enable participation by people with disabilities. How about a pack of rubbers for Fred Trump*?
Are Republicans Being Shadow Banned? (No)
The only way to win with Fakebook is not to play! Unplug! Flush Fakebook!!
We got to see more of Samβs serious side.
RESIST!!

Thanks Tom for posting.
I – I’m not saying it isn’t serious, but it isn’t as deadly as the flu. I agree you are at risk, not just being in hospitals, but being in a highly populated area along the coast. It’s not surprising that the trump budget is cutting CDC’s budget – it’s cutting the budgets of every agency which does any good. (And that’s most of them.) I concur that a box of disposable face masks is probably the way to go (be sure to read the specs.)
II – Funny she should bring this up right now. Here’s a more scholarly article on the same topic which showed up in my mailbox this morning.
Bender may have a point about Iowa Democrats. It’s the Iowa Republicans who scare me.
III – She didn’t say it but I will: allowing both sides to lie doesn’t work well when ONE SIDE DOESN’T LIE. I can’t help, listening to the whole segment, being reminded of the pressure the IRS came under when Conservatives decided that their PACs were being “targeted” by the IRS. Last Saturday’s “Everyday Erinyes” included a description of that.
Always been glad I NEVER joined Facebook. It always reminded of that old business adage: “If you’re not paying for it – YOU are the product.”
And doubly glad when I came across this exchange by Zuckerberg:

Yeah – he’s rich … but he’s still an SOB!
Slashing the CDC’s budget is madness! How are researchers supposed to stay abreast of all the emerging diseases and potential epidemics/pandemics? What must they do for proper funding – have car washes or bake sales? It’s as though the reich-wingers want another huge pandemic. Yeah, let that fourth horseman ride.
I don’t have a Facebook account, and never will. It seems as though just about every day I encounter another good reason to avoid it like Chernobyl.
Sam π: These budget cuts to CDC and other very worthwhile institutes are what this Trumpian/Republican administration is all about. Keep the nation (pre)occupied with a twittering madman and meanwhile cut everything that does the public any good while it’s paying attention elsewhere. I suggest that those who call on the pox for Republicans from hereon call on Corona for them. It may not be as effective as the pox, but it certainly instils a lot more fear in them when they come down with a virus. Any virus π
Sam ππ: Come to think of it, if only 16% of Iowans participate in the caucus, there may be only 16% of Iowans voting for Trump in the election…no? (rhetorical)
Sam πππ: Duh, of course, Facebook would only take out Conservative lies (if they actually do such a thing). Conservatives/extremists are the only ones that put them up.
Sam 1: Yes it’s scary. We have idiots in office that continue to cut these budgets. Sure seems like they are trying to kill us. Just to let you know, TomCat I went to Walgreen’s yesterday to buy sugar free tea that was on sale an they had signs posted on the entrance saying “we are out of masks”.
Sam 2: Agree with Joanne.
Sam 3: Never joined fakebook. Glad I didn’t after all of the evil things that have been happening tot the users.
Thanks. Even Amazon has a 30 day wait.
Thanks and TGIF Hugs to All!
