It’s a queasy day here in the CatBox. I’m just barely in the saddle today, but I did manage to keep half a bowl of cereal down this morning. Tomorrow is a WWWendy Day, so please expect no more than a Personal Update. Tomorrow is also a Holy Day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb. My Broncos are playing WWWendy’s team, the Raiders in the afternoon game. Miracle of miracles, the game will be televised here. May the divine Orb shine its blessed light on your team, unless they are pirates with patches. Have a great, safe weekend.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today’s took me 3:47 (average 5:48). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Cartoon:
Short Takes:
From Daily Kos: Paul Begala, one of Bill Clinton’s most trusted political strategists, has a metaphor to explain how the Biden campaign team views the choice voters should be given in the 2020 race. He calls it “the steaming pile of shit theory,” and he explained it to Ryan Lizza of Politico last week (Why Biden’s Retro Inner Circle Is Succeeding So Far):
“You’re sitting down for breakfast and there’s a steaming pile of shit on your table and you say, ‘Can we get this shit off of my table?’” he told me recently. “And Elizabeth says, ‘I’m going to build you a new house!’ And Bernie says, ‘I’m going to build you a new city!’ And I’m like, no, just get this fucking shit off my kitchen table and we’ll get back to normal life!”
You may think Begala’s theory is overly-vivid or disgustingly crude, but I think it is an accurate metaphor for how Joe Biden and his campaign believe that the only major issue Democratic voters are interested in is getting rid of Trump.
Biden has repeatedly stated that he thinks Trump as president is a temporary disturbance in the American political system. Once the aberration of Trump is gone, Biden believes, the Republican Party will return to “normal” — “have an epiphany” — and the supposed pre-Trump environment of bi-partisan comity and cooperation will return to once again make the nation’s capitol a fun place to reach across the aisle and practice the art of the deal.
The Biden campaign is so full of shit that we know where the steaming pile on the table went. Hillary Clinton partially ignored people’s needs to focus on defeating Trump*. That’s a significant reason why Trump* got close enough for Putin and the KKK to steal the White House for him. Also, “normal” for the Republican Reich, before Trump* was appointed, was for Bought Bitch Moscow Mitch to steal Obama’s Supreme Court appointment, voter suppression, racism, welfare, and more. A Republican epiphany is BS! RESIST!!
From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Shocking Testimony About SEAL Pardoned By Trump Leaked To NYT
It wouldn’t surprise me, if Trump* makes Gallagher, a monster, who almost equals Trump* in evil, the next appointee for Sec. Def. RESIST!!
From YouTube (a blast from the past): graham nash- Chicago
I was demonstrating at the Democratic Convention in Chicago 1968. Ah… the memories! RESIST!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
7:07 – I think it may be new to me.
TC, maybe you shouldn’t watch this one (unless barfing helps), even though it is, of course, satire:
Cartoon – The beginning of a long and much quoted (and much mis-attributed) run.
DK – I had the same reaction – that that’s Joe’s strategy, and it’s a losing one. To push it a little farther, if you just get the shit off the table, the stench will remain. We’re going to need a new house and a new town with clean air.
E-7 Eddie (no one with morals calls him “Chief”) – It’s tough to disentangle the evil between these too. Gallagher seems more disinterestedly evil, and less greedy. Disinterested evil is rare. Even in sadism, there is something in it for the evil one – sexual satisfaction. And those in the chain of command who did nothing – that was self-protection (the reason that more service people fear to come forward with any knowledge of anything wrong.)
Past – Another i don’t know. But let me throe out my own blast from the past – the theme of the radio show featuring movie music (and also quoting soe dialogue) this morning was “resolutions,” and the pièce de résistance (pun intended) was “Casablanca.”
A mall Jesus (obviously Republican Supply-side variety)?!!? Do we really need burgers barbeques with brimstone?
Cartoon: Didn’t realize that it went back that far.
DK: Depressing. UGH!!
MSNBC: Gawd, this is absolutely horrifying. I’d never show my face if I did half of what this pos has done. I certainly wouldn’t be wearing the Trident, and he should have lost his anchors, imho. He’s not a SEAL to me, nor in and by his actions.
BFTP: Great song!! good vibes!!
Glad that you feeling a little better. Hope that the queasiness goes away for you. Good Luck w/your team. We play the Titans. Hi, Wendy! Do take good, good care, and Thanks, Tom.

3. “That wasn’t toilet peper on dt’s shoe. It’s a price tag.” ~ Bill Maher ~
4. “Meanwhile….dt is not putting Ms. Pelosi in danger by posting a picture of her house. He is going full Vladimir Putin. Dangerous! That’s what Russians do!” ~Sky P. ~
5. Saw a Christmas Greeting Card…”Merry Christmas from Tint and Squint.” ~ Tamie H. ~
Puzzle – 4:42 Wow! I’m out of practice.
DK – I really hope Biden is NOT the nominee.
EG – Big mistake pardoning him. But that’s what Dumpf does best.
Love the song. Thanks TC! Hope you’re feeling better.
Two days in a row? We are so blessed!
Glad you feel a tiny, tiny bit better, enough to keep your strength up with a little food, TomCat.
3:42 You must feel a little better, TomCat because your score today is so much better than yesterday’s.
Cartoon: I only know the Enkhuizer Almanak, from sight that is. It’s the only one left in the Netherlands and it still sells.
DK: Republicans can’t spell epiphany if they’ve ever seen the word, let alone have one.
MSNBC: These interviews and the story around them has made headlines in The Netherlands and Australia, two countries who have followed America into all it’s “peace-bringing” wars for several decades now, and who also either had some military on trial for (lesser) war crimes or, as in Australia, where the government is actively trying to keep journalists from finding out more.
I fear for those SEALs that spoke our against him, though. Was it really necessary to show their faces and endanger their lives?
And yes, it might have crossed Trumpf’s sick mind to put Gallagher up for appointee for Secretary of Defence, but whoever has some authority left with Trump, must have talked him out of it. He may do it, though, when he needs a diversion again.
BFTP: I was only 12 in 1968, but I do remember the song, but of course not the convention.
I believe that showing their faces was voluntary.
“Poor Richard’s Almanack” was an almanac, but it is seldom remembered as such. It’s still quoted today (and it only ran through 1756) as Benjamin Franklin’s running op-ed.
Cartoon: It’s been around that long?
DK: I don’t think we have to worry about him being nominated. He’s just not with it anymore.
MSNBC: It’s disgusting what this creep has done, yet both the fools hUnter and tRump, stood up for him. I pray that tRump doesn’t do like you mentioned, TC. I’m sick of seeing these type of creeps getting into any government positions.
BFTP: Great tune.
Glad that you were doing a little better today. Just keep taking small steps with your food intake to be safe.
Take care. Thanks TomCat
Good to hear you’re doing a bit better.
Boy, did I misread your update WRT endoscopy! Really? Not until FEBRUARY 18th?!?
I touch base w/ the GI doc & your PCP to see if there are any other options to expedite it.
Can’t hurt – might help – nothing to lose.
The problem was finding a time that worked for the hospital and for WWWendy.
Thanks and Broncos Hugs to all! 🐎
