Have I got you confused? Let me qualify. I’m not talking about the Reich on the right, who are always wrong, the Republican Reich. We should win with the Reich on the left, who is always right, Robert Reich. Robert offered a fascinating interview with Rep. Ro Khanna [D-CA], Bernie Sanders’ National Co-chair. First, here’s a note on Ro.
Rohit Khanna (known as Ro Khanna, /ˈroʊ ˈkʌnə/; born September 13, 1976) is an American academic, lawyer, and politician serving as the U.S. Representative from California’s 17th congressional district, since 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, he defeated eight-term incumbent Democratic Representative Mike Honda in the general election on November 8, 2016, after first running for the same seat in 2014. Khanna also served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary in the United States Department of Commerce under President Barack Obama from August 8, 2009, to August 2011.
Khanna identifies as a progressive capitalist. He accepts campaign donations only from individuals and is one of only six members of the U.S. House of Representatives, and ten members of Congress, who do not take campaign contributions from political action committees (PACs) or corporations.
On February 21, 2019, Khanna was named a national co-chair of Bernie Sanders’s 2020 presidential campaign.

Winning the 2020 Election: Robert Reich and Ro Khanna
We keep hearing that we need a moderate Democrat to beat Trump, and that a progressive Democrat will scare swing state voters, giving the White House to Trump. Why? The reason is that moderate centrist Democrats, who have the media’s ear, are desperate to keep control of the party. In my opinion, nothing could be further from the truth. Don’t forget what happened in 2016. We gave America a choice between Trump and a corporate Democrat, who did not inspire voters to turn out. With a lot of help from Russia, Trump won. Next year, we need a progressive candidate, who can inspire voters enough to turn out, because Russia is still there and busier helping Republicans than ever.
Ro prefers Bernie. I prefer Liz, but we agree. We will support the Democratic nominee, but think our chances are far better with one of the two.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Good informational video.
I too, support the Democratic nominee, for the WIN!
The Reich on the left would be fine with either Warren or Sanders, as would I. It most certainly will be interesting. BTW – Ro Khanna is a great chairman, but (and?) the Warren campaign also introduced it’s two co-chairs this week – in alphabetical order, Deb Haaland and Katie Porter. Neither Sanders nor Warren is working with anyone other than their best. More power to both.
Enjoy listening to Ro. Interesting man. Appreciate what he’s doing for the Democratic Party.
I too am for Elizabeth Warren, but will support the Democrat nominee. We definitely need to win.
I believe it was him I saw on TV, at the impeachment hearings, and I liked what he said, and how he said it.
I have a feeling that you are right about not needing a centrist. I expect that centrist Dems will vote for whomever the nominee is, and if it is one of these two, we will all be spared the old conundrum of voting for one of the least terrible people out there.
TomCat, I couldn’t agree more with you and with Robert Reich. Democrats don’t want a repeat of 2016 when the Democratic elite shoved Bernie aside, who, as the polls showed even then, was sure to defeat Trump. They pushed Democrat’s worst candidate ever, ignoring their own voters, certain they were going to win anyway, just as they are pushing Biden in the ‘certainty of winning’ now. What America needs now is a progressive Bernie Warren or a Liz Sanders to defeat Trump and his Republicans. The worst thing that could happen is that Liz and Bernie tear each other up at the polls and the DNC can happily declare Biden the winner.
I don’t want to steal from your Sunday Open Threat, TomCat, so I’ll refrain from posting Parody Project Don Caron’s view on Republicans and Corporate Democrats in a parody on “Deck the Halls”, which is very much in alignment with yours.
Thanks, Hugs and Amen to all!
Some Democrats and other progressives are saying we should back off from impeachment, because even if it get through the House, the process will face a GOP-controlled Senate, and no amount of howling at Republican Senators – even those who are up for re-election in 2020, and thus vulnerable – is going to change any of their hypnotized minds. The best, and probably the only, way to get tRump out of the Oval Office is with the ballot box. Make sure all your progressive kith and kin are registered to vote, volunteer to help drive people to the polls, support real Democrats (not “moderate” sellouts) – whatever it takes!
Because if tRump wins a second term–
