It’s another tired day here at the CatBox. My heartburn flared up last night, and I slept poorly. Tomorrow a Holy Day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb. My Broncos visit the Chiefs and I look forward to reading about how they do. It’s not televised here, of course. May the Divine Orb shine it’s blessed light on your team, unless you need a name. 😉 It’s also a WWWendy day, and it’d been so humid that I need extra de-stinking. Also, we have chores to do, so please expect no more than a personal update. Have a fine weekend.

But, according to Alistair Dorrinson, a pub owner in North London, British voters have done irreparable damage to the “most enjoyable sport this nation has ever known: namely, treating Americans like idiots.”

#MoscowMitch – There ar actually standing rules in place in the Senate for the conduct of an impeachment trial – finalized in the eighties sometime. But that is riles, not law, and I see nothing to prevent him from defenestrating them. But every time I see something like this, or Lindsay claiming they will have no witnesses and just vote, I wonder about the wild card in the game – Chief Justice Roberts. By the Constitution itself, he is to preside, which means he must have some authority. What kind and how much remain to be seen. But he does not strike me as a shrinking violet. Perhaps we will need popcorn.

McConnell has been such driving fixture, and feature, of the coming apart of our government, for so long it is sickening. I do hope Roberts takes him on and shoves his foot inot Moscow Mitch’s mouth.

MSNBC: Trial, what trial? If Robertson allows this slap in the face of jurisdiction and everything the Supreme Court of the United States is supposed to stand for, then you can kiss democracy and an outwardly independent SCOTUS goodbye. Then nothing that comes out of America can ever be trusted again. Of course, Robertson stopping Mitch McConnell in his tracks doesn’t prevent a sham trial and all Republicans voting against removing Trump from office, but it will at least leave the appearance of a slightly functioning SCOTUS intact.

i’m so sorry i haven’t checked in for so long, i miss you all terribly!
There’s been so much tragedy in my life, which i won’t bore you with….
The worst that could possibly happen occurred on the 13th of November, my precious baby boy Wolfie-Bear passed in my arms after a very sudden, brief & despicable illness, he was by my side, a huge part of my life for almost 16 years!
i’m shattered & not coping well, i cry everyday, my life is empty now.
Thank you dear Joanne for the emails reminding me to check in, i just wasn’t up to it until now.
