It’s an exhausted day here in the CatBox.  Needless to say, last week was a gruesome one for me, and I just didn’t get the rest I needed.  On the plus side, I have no medical appointments this week.  Store to Door is closed for Thanksgiving, so I’m getting my groceries delivered from Safeway.com tomorrow.  Putting them away will be much more difficult, because Safeway does not help the way Store to Door does.  They are scheduled between 8 and 10 AM, so depending on how long it takes, I may have only one article tomorrow.  WWWendy and I are celebrating the holiday on Sunday with lamb chops, lamb gravy, stuffing, Brussels sprouts, raspberry pudding ring, B & J Cherry Garcia and Alka-Seltzer.  OGIM Hugs to all!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:31 (average 5:29).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Even the most omnipotent Orb couldn’t help those bozos!  ARGH!!

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Media Matters Channel): Fox News questioned Lt. Col. Vindman’s patriotism but praised war criminals

Barf Bag Alert!!

The Republican Reich, who Faux Noise represent, have no need for heroes like Vindman. They need war criminals, who are willing to perform violent acts against heroes.  RESIST!!

From YouTube (CNN Channel): Adam Schiff: ‘The evidence is already overwhelming’ in impeachment inquiry

CNN is right about one thing. The evidence certainly is overwhelming against Trump and several of his goose stepping minions. Even though they appear to go ahead, the House needs to keep investigating the entire Republican Reich. In 2020, a Democratic President would appoint an AG honest enough to indict Trump, Pence, Barrf, Pompeo, Perry, Nunes and dozens more.  RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast from the past): Peter and Gordon – A World Without Love (HD) 1964

Ah… the memories!  RESIST!!

  1. Cartoon: Sounds familiar….
RA: Bummer….looks like the score we had when we played the Jags… 11/3.
BBA: What’s really sad…(to me), is that folks listen and digest to this type of garbage F&F, that’s spewed every day. Lt. Col Vindman is a true patriot in the field, as well as for testifying. The fact that he and his family had to seek protection from dt and his cronies after testifying, is downright sickening and horrible. Who would have thought THIS could happen in the good ole USA??
CNN: I agree, and continue to get the mounting evidence, for as long as they need to investigate.
    BFTP: Sweet song.

Hi Wendy!! Sounds like you’re going to be pretty busy, from now till Thanksgiving. Your menu sounds delicious.  Hope that you have a good, quiet relaxing day, take good care, and Thanks, Tom. It’s 80 here today, crazy!

This just in: “Trump is a coward. A weakling pantomiming as a strongman. He will fold b/c that is what he does when confronted by people unafraid of him. ~ Marie H. ~
    2. Bill Barr – “We investigated ourselves and cleared us of any wrongdoing.” ~ Tom S. ~
    3. fyi – “Edward Gallagher isn’t going to fare very well when he returns to his unit, as the guy who got the Secretary of the Navy fired. ~ Stuart M. ~
    4. “The military will not look favorably upon this act. dt just made himself more enemies.” ~Joanne W. ~

  2. Right now the Rethuglicans are their own worst enemies. One can only wonder what future historians will say of this era.

  3. 6:22 We don’t see this one as often as some.

Well, we have one thing in common in our Thanksgiving meals – Brussels sprouts. Yours sounds much better, but mine will be much easier. I assume by the time I’m posting you have already put everything away; hope you didn’t get too exhausted.

Cartoon – Sad to think that if we only knew everything Republicans have been up to for the last 40 years this might be one of the least egregious.

MM – I read read what they said about LTC Vindman enough times that I don’t think I can watch this too. And just the words “war criminals” make me weep for the Secretary of the Navy, morally forced to resign over the glorification of a war criminal too vile to describe here save to say his own comrades in arms screwed with his weapon to try to minimize the damage he was doing. Fair winds, SecNav Spencer.

CNN – I’ve seen a suggestion that the when Intelligence hands over to Judiciary, Judiciary may start its own investigation starting with information from the Mueller report. Certainly, especially with the facts not contested, it isn’t more evidence that is needed – exactly as Mr. Schiff said. (Did everyone see the Mike Luckovich cartoon about his being granted sainthood?) I do thing timing is critical. It shouldn’t be. But we are not dealing with people, but with Republicans.

Past – I remember this. But – i don’t care that they say, I can’t live in a world without democracy.

  4. John Yoo, Laura Ingraham and Alan Dershowitz … it would be hard to “find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy”.

Of course we all remember the “Sieg Heil” salute Ingraham gave at the RNC convention – then caught herself.

And recently it was highlighted that Dershowitz was frequently … hmmm … “palling around” with Jeffrey Epstein’s younger guests.

Who can forget this exchange by John Yoo, architect of Dubya and Cheney’s torture program?

Doug Cassel: If the president deems that he’s got to torture somebody,  including by crushing the testicles of the person’s child, there is no  law that can stop him?
    John Yoo: No treaty.
Doug Cassel: Also no law by Congress — that is what you wrote in the August 2002 memo…

  5. Cartoon: Have to agree with Pat on this one, that it sure sounds familiar.
MM: What right does Faux news have speaking about  Lt. Col Vindman like that??? They don’t. Never watch them and never will.
CNN: They have so much evidence against tRump and his cronies. They need to stay strong and continue fighting to the very end, till tRump and others are sentenced to prison for a long time.
    BFTP: Remember the song well.
I have to go to my ortho doctor tomorrow. Then may go to have a little fun at the Casino since they are giving me a free night and some free cash to play for my birthday month. That way I can play some on Tuesday and spend the night and come home early on Wednesday when the big rain storm is suppose to hit here for three days.
So take care and get some rest.
    Thanks TomCat

  6. With all those dishes on the Thanksgiving menu, you sure have a lot of groceries to put away, TomCat. Don’t exert yourself too much, dear friend.

4:15 Didn’t look to succulent to me.

Cartoon: Was there any Republican administration in our recollection that didn’t have something scandalous pop-up?

MM: So this is what makes America great again, huh?

CNN: Yes, Trump must be impeached. Yes, Trump must then be removed from office. Yes, all his minions need to be investigated too. Yes, his minions need to be impeached/prosecuted too. And yes, I fancy that a lot of Americans are like me and are getting very tired of it all.

BFTP: I know the song, but have no specific memories connected to it. Too young for that, I guess.

    • I think Eisenhower’s was probably scandal-free.

I’m old enough to remember him being president – but I don’t remember anything about his presidency, other than “I Like Ike”.

      • I’m older, if only by a couple of years, but I don’t remember any scandals either about his Presidency. I remember he was a bridge player, but probably what comes first to mind is his efforts to enforce Brown v Board. People did like him. After his administration (I think after his death) it came out that he had had an affair while in the Army, but even that, there were no salacious details; it was treated with dignity (as much as that’s possible (and certainly more so than today.)

  7. I’m not a big lamb fan, but I LOVE Brussel sprouts!  Whether shaved for a salad, cooked, sautéed – the local grocery store has a fantastic deli, and they make wonderful roasted Brussel sprouts!

Mom never made roasted Brussel sprouts – too bad, because they’re delicious!  And I bet you don’t get as much of that “cabbage” smell in the house when you just boil them.

    • “Roasted”? Coated with olive oil (or maybe sunflower), sprinkled with sea salt and coarse black pepper, and oven roasted? I’ve done that and it’s glorious. Not doing it this year, though.Just steaming some frozen ones. Lamb is iffy because a sheep is considered a lamb for two years, and only for the first year does it taste much different from mutton. But only in the first year can it be called “spring lamb,” so that may help shoppers to know what they’re actually getting.

    • Mine are just boiled, but I serve them with Hollandaise sauce. 25

    • Brussel sprouts — I love them!!!  I like them roasted but if time is short, nuked with butter is good.  They are also good with mild salsa — I know sounds gross, but it is actually quite tasty!

  8. Thanks and tired hectic hugs to all! 17
