Katie Hill – It is difficult to write laws for something like this, but using consent as a bar makes it easier. But even so, one can only prosecute after the damage is already done. And the damage is damaging exactly because aour society is so misogynous. When was the last time you saw a man in trouble for having nude photos of him posted to the net without his consent?
Instagram – Is it a surprise that there is no such thing as safe social media? (TC, stay away from those “detox teas”!) Incidentally, note that this is also another economic story: if people could get decent paying union jobs, they wouldn’t have to “influence” for money.
Organs – Heaven knows this system needs improvement (which means a lot of people need to VOTE BLUE !!) Yet, I am old enough to remember when transplants of major organs were not possible at all.
Revenge Porn: Despicable. (Unless, of course, it’s used against a Republican.
) A very good reason to NEVER let yourself be photographed in the nude, and if you do have nudies of yourself, NEVER share them.
Instagram: Once again, money talks and fools listen. I don’t have an Instagram account, and I very rarely use it. Those “influencers” don’t influence me. They should be ashamed of themselves, putting profit ahead of other people’s well-being. Slime! Caveat emptor.
Organ transplants: Our entire health care system needs a major overhaul, and this is just one part of it. Trump did something right? Well, even Hitler and Stalin got a few things right. May be time for a petition or two. In the meantime, make sure you are registered as an organ donor.
It’s sad to think of all the teens happy to take and share nude pictures. Forgoing if this constitutes child porn or not, this will NOT serve them well when they start looking for jobs. The innertubes are forever!

Part of the problem with transplant programs is that there are over TWENTY transplantable organs, tissues and cells. It’s inherently disjointed.
I had a very dear friend who was an internist who developed liver failure and was put on the transplant list. He shared the onerous rules of what’s involved. Sadly he died before he got a new liver.
I encourage everyone to not only sign the donation cards, but spell out what you want done in your Health Care Directive.
Hopefully you all HAVE a Health Care Directive. It makes what’s inevitable for all us so much easier to manage for our families and/or friends. Having lost my sister-in-law, Mom and brother in a nine-month span last year, I speak from experience. I worked with my Mom on her Directive – but unfortunately my brother never got around to creating one. It was very hard on his son – my nephew. And naturally he looked to me for some guidance.
Organ Donation is in my Directive.

Sam 🐝: There are quite a few laws about in different countries to preserve your privacy, such as for example having to ask all parents for permission before taking a class photo and publishing it on a website or school magazine, which is the rather silly outcome of law on taking pictures of people and publishing them without consent. The problem, of course, is that putting revenge porn on the internet is not done nicely, often secretively and with the intent to have it go viral, i.e. unstoppable. To have it ‘deleted’, which never can be fully accomplished, the victim needs to go very public for a long time, making it all the worse for them. Katy Hill is a very brave woman for speaking out like this and it’s sad to see her step back from public life because she knows this will haunt her for the rest of her life.
Sam 🐝🐝: I’m sorry, but I have no empathy for people on social media who do not see that these so-called “influencers” are nothing more than a sales fronts for companies who want to circumvent advertisement rules and laws and having their products pushed on the cheap. Why on earth would you trust anyone who is called a social influencer and who has never had a job to speak of other than that to recommend a product that affects your health?
Sam 🐝🐝🐝: A number of EU countries have turned things around and passed laws which made everyone a potential donor unless they opted out by registering their choice not to be a donor. It has proven to work well, and it also solved problems of next of kin prohibiting donation even if the donor had signed a card, but it would not solve any of the internal problems of the OPO system.
