There is only one reason America isn’t moving rapidly toward 100% green Energy. Big carbon polluters own the Republican Reich.
During the sixties I remember feeling thoroughly frustrated, because most of the black people I encountered were not interested in protesting for civil rights. Perhaps I was overly sensitive, because my father was such an extreme racist.
Bill was quite funny last night, especially the first segment.

Monologue – Americans do flip out needlessly because so many don’t understand rules of evidence. And some really take it too far. One person on DU wondered why we are believing the transcript the White House released of the Ukraine call. I replied, we aren’t believing it, we’re speculating that if that’s how much he admits, how much worse must the truth be. The response (paraphrased for length) was “But you know how he lies.”
McCarthy – “Let’s just do what we can do.”
New Rules – Bill has a tendency not to think things through, particularly when emotions are involved. When victims are forced to brush off offences in order to just keep living their lives, someone has to be offended, or nothing will change. Nothing changes without commitment, and commitment doesn’t exist without feelings. Yes it can be taken too far. And, OMG, people can be too loud about it.

Bill #1: Republicans made it really easy for comedians, who were really run down by keeping on top of the mess of the last three years, and gave them about 50 angles this week. Bill picked up on most of them, I’d say.
Bill #2: Bill and Gina just touched upon it, but the fight against global warming and climate change is taking off as it is becoming the people’s revolution; the young people’s revolution to be more specific. It is not coming from right-wing governments, so (young) people are taking it upon themselves, and a lot of companies are getting the message and are joining in, understanding that is where their future lies too.
Bill #3: Beyond funny. Excellent analysis of (some) liberal white Americans going over the top.

Gina McCarthy is right – let’s stop worrying and do what we can to counter climate change. Each person can do at least something, and when millions each do a small thing, that adds up to a lot.
