I’m very tired here in the CatBox.  I finally got everything fixed, but it was 4 PM, when I did.  So I missed my nap.  Tomorrow is a Holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.  My Broncos are meditating with the Bears, but the game won’t be televised here.  May the Holy Ellipsoid Orb bless your team unless they bearly shit in the woods.  Tomorrow is also a WWWendy day, and we have lots to do, so please expect no more than a Personal Update.  Weekend Hugs to all.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:04 (average 4:40).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Cartoon:

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Lawrence’s Take On The 3rd Democratic Debate

If we are blessed with a Democratic President, a Democratic House and a Democratic Senate, all will be on or near the same page. The debate moderators should stop trolling for ratings and ask realistic questions. RESIST!!

From YouTube (Robert Reich Channel): Robert Reich: The Secret GOP Plan to Keep Power

Of course the Reich on the left, Robert Reich is right. The Reich on the right, the Republican Reich, is incompetent at everything except, spreading hate and violence, giving your money to billionaires, and stealing power. RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast from the past): The Troggs – Wild Thing

Ah… the memories! RESIST!!

Vote Blue!!

  1. Friday 4:57 Glad to be able to say that all my friends/family in Florida were in the leeward side of the pistol grip when Dorian came through.
Saturday 5:34 Looks like he’s thinking about getting revenge for the ear.

Cartoon – I don’t think I even want to know, “start what?”

Lawrence – Sure, many of the most important things depend on Congress. But Presidents do have some influence on Congress – if not in what gets passed, certainly in what gets voted on. However, it is also true that most voters have as inflated an idea of what a President can do as Traitor Tot has – and, in lieu of actually teaching civics on schools, yeah, we need to try to control the narrative at debates. Although I don’t see anything wrong with having a President who has good ideas and staffs a Cabinet with people who have good ideas.

RR – I’ve always paid attention to state elections, especially in years ending in 8 and 0. Right now we have a Dem majority in our state houses, and Republicans are very unhappy. They have tried to push recall elections but have been failing this time. Unfortunately, there have been times they succeeded and we have lost good people. What do we do? If I knew what to do about the crazy SOBs I would be doing it.

Past – Yes, I remember this. I didn’t play it because I don’t need an earworm today (that is a compliment, in case it isn’t clear).

  2. Cartoon: Ewww….oh, ick!
MSNBC: I liked Ms. Harris’ clapback saying dt could go back to watching Faux news now…lol
RR: Word. I’d sure like to see TX turn BLUE this time around, we sure do need some sanity down here!!
YT: Great song, and groovy times! Funny…..how I can sing the words to the song, but can’t remember what I did last week…

Hi, Wendy!!! We play the Jags tomorrow. Hope that you get a nap in, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: “Helping the enemy used to be called treason. Now they call it being a Republican.” ~Mack M. ~
    2. ” ‘Privilege’ is when you think something is not a problem because it’s not a problem to you. Personally.” ~Michael B. ~
    3. “Who has no moral compass..? The same guy who said he’d date her if they weren’t related.” ~Annie B. ~

  3. I disagree w/ former Sec. Reich on one issue: It’s hardly a “Secret GOP Plan”

They’ve been very clear about their efforts to destroy our democracy by taking away “certain peoples'” right to vote.

    • It’s a secret de polichinelle….  Someone who happens not to know, such as a newcomer to an area (a geographical area, or an intellectual area, such as politics) won’t easily learn it, because no one mentions it.

      • Good to learn something new everyday:

        secret of Polichinelle

        • The device was a key clue in one of Agatha Christie’s detective novels.  I have learned a whole lot reading mysteries.  Mystery writers include some dam fine writers, and most are also dam clever.  (And then Umberto Eco comes along and writes one using one of the oldest plot devices “in the book” and wins all kinds of literary prizes.  Not to disparage Eco personally, but people who dismiss detective literature really do not know what they are talking about.)

  4. MSNBC: I disagree with Lawrence- A president can, starting with her State of the Union address, emphasize various topics, issues, and put pressure on congress to go along with his emphasis.  Not a guarantee, but the president can set the culture’s agenda, as Dump-hole has done for the KKK.
RR: Right, again!  Nameless is right, the GOP’s agenda is anything but a secret.
Troggs: I am more familiar with Hendrix version.
    ‘Toon: sickening!

  5. Glad you got it all fixed again. I hope you can catch-up on your sleep later, TomCat.

    3:14 Both a beauty and a fighter.

Cartoon: But SCOTUS didn’t wait, did it?

MSNBC: With those questions asked, I’m glad I song didn’t waste time watching the debates.

RR: It’s a warning that didn’t achieve much in 2014 and 2016. Perhaps it’s about the only good thing to come out of the Trump era: people will now believe it’ll happen, having seen what already has happened in the past two elections.DesperateRepublicans will try anything now to stay in power. Trump’s is already a minority rule; don’t give the GOP a chance to extend it even further than it is now.

YT: Because the Troggs were a British band, I knew this song well. It was a favourite at school dances, though the long slow bits were a nuisance to dance to.

  6. Thanks and Ellipsoid Orb Hugs to all! πŸˆ
