I voted for “all of the above”, but realize “publicly shame them” does NOT seem possible, since this regime seems to have NO shame, among many other deficiencies! ——Also, HELLO everyone, so nice 2 see some of you here; still having a sad bc Care2—–also 45 in my state tonite—-hope there’s LOTS of protesters, great signs, etc.

While I agree with Gene and JD on the Gulag point, perhaps a pre-trail stay in one of the detention centres (Yuma or El Paso for example) could be accommodated — after all, they will be given due process, you know that legal right that was denied to those they detained. Of course, the main overriding point would be to vote BLUE from dog catcher on up and then hold Dems’ feet to the fire by a now politically educated and moral electorate.
Another point, since they worship at the altar of greed, perhaps all of their assets should be seized to provide some reparations for those they detained, not that this would adequate for the emotional harm the detainees suffered, but it would be a start.

I don’t know enough of the facts yet to get a feel if there were felonies committed – so I went w/ the solid fallback vote of “Vote Blue No Matter Who!”
I’m really anxious to learn more about the CBP Agents private Facebook group “I’m 10-15”.
If accurate, they better DAMN WELL be “Held Accountable” as promised.

Since the poll doesn’t let us select more than one answer and there are a couple I wouldn’t care much about, but others I do want done, I went with all of the above. Just to be clear, NO Gulags of any kind ever – if we are not better than that, we are them. Jail, hell, yes. But the word Gulag is just wrong in any context. Then, fines mean nothing to them, but jail, felony convictions and get them all out of office are really the things I want done.

If you had made it possible to respond what should we NOT do, I might have said that GOP gulags is going to far; imprisonment for felonies will accomplish the same thing with a better legal foundation. But that wasn’t a choice, and all of the rest are appropriate and necessary.

I stand by my comment and Gene’s on the retiring poll.
As for the new one, all of the above, plus improve our handle on access to explosives. The fact that their terrorism has been expressing itself in gun violence for the most part has obscured that there are other means of destruction, a la Timothy McVeigh. If we take their guns but do nothing about other weapons, we are just setting ourselves up.
Also, to get to the root of the problem, we need to invest deeply in public education. Perhaps Germany could help us here – I really have no idea how to educate for deprogramming. I do know civics needs to be more and better taught. And to the extent that we allow charter schools and home schooling, we need to legislate requirements for them that will address this issue.

I agree satirically, but seriously, I have no problem with legitimate gun purchasers, just with Ammosexuals.

I think that if your poll had twice as many outcomes, i.e. punishments, to chose from, we still would have voted ‘all of the above’, but at the same time knew that most likely none of them will come about.

I stand by my comment above. I did mention ‘due process’ — I see Trump mentioned no due process for mass shooters. Rather amusing since he complained about a lack of due process for himself and staff that “had their careers and lives devastated” by what I think he called unfair treatment in the press. OMG, the shoe is always on the other foot with that dicktator!
