Here are the results of our “Why GOP Pols Support Trump?” Poll. Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories. Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population. Nevertheless, our polls are usually factually accurate, and more often than not, they reflect thinking of the majority of those who actually do think.

they care more about themselves, their power and money..….greed and power justify any behaviors….including lying, lying, lying and being so careless of others they will support the biggest loser….

I agree with both Dave and Gene, which is why I picked lack of integrity.

It’s a mix! I agree with Dave — they’re only interested in power and money. One person is standing up to Trump — mega donor Robert Mercer says he will not support Trump, but he certainly won’t be donating to a Democrat.

Absolutely! And we need to do our homework before we vote, especially in the primaries. We need to back Democrats who are genuine progressives, not corporate-owned fakes. We also need to get out the youth vote, and help those in marginalized communities registered – and to the polls.

I went w/ “Other” – just to be a contrarian.

they care more about power than they do about ethics, people, country, world, future…..

They are just as evil as he is

I have to say it’s a mix. As we all know many are true kiss their leader’s as* types. Some are new at it and just trying to say in a good status with him. What it will all come down to is when it’s time to vote for their seats, they hopefully will be voted out of office too.

It is a mix. You can’t pick just one of those because they are guilty of all them and more. Party before country is the party platform. One can only hope the American people are tired of that by 2020 because the Democrats are nearly as apathetic themselves. All talk and no action to this point but for empty threats.

I think most, if not all, are compromised by their actions, and are in favor of not standing up for the Constitution, and the needs of the people.

I voted a mix of the above. Some undoubtedly fall into one category more than the other two, but every Republican in Congress (provisionally excepting Re. Amash at this point) has at least a little of each of those three flaws.
I am the only one, who voted with Animae. They are just as evil as he is. Their lack of courage and integrity stem from that condition.
The new poll is up, so please vote. I bet I can predict the winner.
RESIST!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
New poll – ALL OF THE ABOVE of course!
‘All the above’ warrants this, imho. Vote BLUE all the way through too!
If you had made it possible to respond what should we NOT do, I might have said that GOP gulags is going to far; imprisonment for felonies will accomplish the same thing with a better legal foundation. But that wasn’t a choice, and all of the rest are appropriate and necessary.
Thanks for the final results. Glad to see that we are all on the same vote.
I voted in the new pool too.
Looks like I’m going to be the contrarian again. I do not want to be too quick to judge – so I’ll wait until the facts come out.
But lord knows the CBP has a LOT of explaining to do!
No, you’ll find at least some agreement. By the phrase “the public and private executives responsible” I for one understood the qualifier “once we have established for certain who exactly they are.” No one was named, no one was singled out by title, and, though liberals may at times speak hyperbolically, actually condemning entire groups and failing to take people as individuals is something conservatives do. (Also, once we have found convictable felons and convicted them, there will be difference in number and degree of felonies committed.)
Also, once we have establishes who did what, we are going to find people who are not convictable of anything simply because what they did was so unthinkable that no one ever wrote a law against it. For example, I seriously doubt there is a federal law against instructing people to drink from toilets. That’s Geneva Convention stuff or cruel and unusual punishment. And I can see a defense attorney holding that it can’t come under punishment because technically this kind of detention is not punishment in the meaning of the Amendment.
JD is on the same page as I am. I am certain that Trump and some of his cronies are responsible and suspect that most CBP agents are not. We’ll learn the rest over time.
I think I missed the last poll, I’ll make up for it now.
Thanks and hugs to all.
