I usually only have to mow the grass once a week, but with all the rain we’ve had I needed to increase the frequency.Β So I was out cutting the grass in the afternoon when all of a sudden the mower just stopped.Β And I could not get it started.
Let it sit over night thinking maybe I flooded it w/ all my pulls – but still “No Go”.
GRRR
So now I’ll have to take it into the shop to get it fixed (hopefully), then find a rental place that has walk behind mowers and get the grass cut.
Should be able to do a Saturday Smile tomorrowΒ – unless Miss Fortune has a few more tricks in store.

I’m truly sorry you are experiencing this cagrasstrophe.
I’m sorry, Nameless.
What a pain in the grass!
I feel your frustration, Nameless, re: mowers.
I usually mow once a week too, it’s a good way to get my exercise.
Last week, while I mowed the back 40, I stopped it, as I went in to get a drink of water.
When I came back out, I found I couldn’t get the *@(@!!* started again. Hubs came out to
check it out, and it was the old and worn filter. Went to get a new one, and now it works like
a charm.
Good luck! and hope it doesn’t cost you an arm & leg to get fixed.
After waiting overnight to be sure I didn’t flood it, I first checked and cleaned the air filter – but it wasn’t that dirty.
I wanted to clean the carburetor mixing bowl and the air-mixing jet holes – but didn’t have the right sized tool to remove it.
I use to have the pleasure of mowing my lawns many years ago, but when the water company was making a big stink about the drought, I had mine, both front and back removed and had pavers put in. It was a costly ordeal, but well worth it.
I like you, had problems with my mover in those days. It was a gas powered one and would have times when it didn’t want to work properly. Kind of like a car.
Good luck, I hope your mower is repairable, and doesn’t cost you too much.
Damn machines π
Can’t Live With Them … Can’t Shoot ‘Em
Yeah, Nameless,
They’re sometimes worthless… at times when you need it the most, to work.
I’m glad that you did not fight with the mower, especially if it is a gas run little beast, with a pull cord: I just found out that when I fought with mine, many years ago, I tore my rotator cuff. Long story short: one last recent, insult to it and now I need a shoulder replacement…surgery on June 12th.
