I’ll be leaving for my meeting in a while, and I won’t be back until late this afternoon. Oh God; it’s Monday!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:13 (average 5:02).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Take:

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Melber: Mueller Busted Trump Crime Spree, No Chargeable Collusion

Reading behind the legalese, “criminally chargeable” means that the Trump Reich was successful enough at hiding the proof of their treason, that Mueller lacked sufficient evidence to charge with certainty of conviction. The Trump Reich were “cleared” of Obstruction of Justice by Barr, not Mueller. I trust this is Barr’s quid pro quo to Trump for the AG job. RESIST!!

  1. Just because there was no collusion on tRump’s part does not mean there was no crime. Pumpkinhead is not off the hook. If you managed to open a treasure chest in hopes of finding gold, and found no gold but plenty of silver, diamonds and platinum, would you be disappointed? Of course not.

  2. The AG and Mueller are following Justice department policy, that a sitting president cannot be indicted.
The Congress can indict the president, but that means starting impeachment proceedings, which Pelosi said she does not want to do.
The law says the Mueller report cannot be made public and the AG will follow that law. By law, the Mueller report must be made available to Congress and every member of Congress.
Unless the Congress acts, whatever Trump did, or did not due will be debate and speculation, into history.
Mueller is constrained by Justice department policy to not indite the president, that does not mean Mueller did not uncover the evidence to prove charges, but again, that is left to Congress to decide.

    • 1. Pelosi said she did not want to start impeachment proceedings unless something changed. In the context, I understood that to mean something like unless there would be enough votes in the Senate to convict. One way that votes in the Senate could come about would be through public House investigations.

      2. If, as the law requires, the report is made available to every member of Congress, there are at least 535 ways those contents might “leak.” That is not counting White House staff who may be, as someone put it, less than gruntled.

      3. The House is already committed to “taking action” in multiple ways. The Senate, not so much. Like everything else, that could change.

    • Ditto JD and see today’s lead article. 07

  3. I was dismayed when I heard the news. I’d like to see the report go public, go House Dems! for trying to get it done! I also read/know that Mr. Mueller has given 7 prosecutorial entities information re: dt as well to those agencies. Thank gawd! We know, at least on this page, that dt is NOT crimeless, and I’m sure more will come out, as time goes on. Only thing is, he’ll crow from the rooftops, and gloat at his rallies, which, btw…I don’t watch.

    Cartoon: SMDH!!

By the time you read this, you’ll be home, but I do hope that your meeting went well. Take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

ps. Remember Mr. Mueller brought down John Gotti, and also the scandal of Enron in Houston. He has a lot of experience, and a stellar resume. He knows more than I do, re: this. imho.

  4. 4:17 Couldn’t save him. Maybe Squatch or Lona will.

MSNBC – We are all still speculating about the content of a report which we haven’t seen. And that, of course, includes John Brennan, James Clapper, Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, etc. Congress needs to get a copy of it, and Congress knows it, and is working on it. Meanwhile, if you want to spare your blood pressure, don’t read (or read about) Matt Taibbi.

Cartoon – Indeed. I see more and more hoodies, and more and more ads for hoodies, and I wonder, is the whole country tone deaf? Or just (or mostly just) the fashion industry? Or are they trying to get people of color killed?

  5. Without a shadow of a doubt, the Mueller Report MUST be shared with the American people – IN ITS ENTIRETY!  (Minus grand jury and relevant ongoing investigation material).

Barr’s “report” had only 98 words from Mueller’s Report.

  6. We need the Mueller Report. I don’t trust Barr. Kudos to the Dems for demanding the report

  7. 3:00 Sorry, TomCat, I couldn’t let you have that little bird for a snack.

MSNBC: Mueller is a man of great integrity and also very straight laced lawyer who took his job as special councillor very serious. This means he wouldn’t allow himself and his team to make mistakes, wouldn’t let himself be hurried or take risks in persecuting people when he wasn’t absolutely certain that would lead to conviction. And above all, he wanted to avoid any hint of partisanship, so it was to be expected that he’d leave any persecution, i.e. impeachment, of the president to Congress.

Perhaps this is hard to take for many, but proof of collusion is either not conclusive, or Mueller thinks that the evidence isn’t strong enough for Congress to seek impeachment. The thing is, neither Congress, nor the American public, can do anything but speculate until the report is made public. The Turtle Mitch McConnell has already indicated that he is blocking the report going public, thereby only fuelling the speculations that the GOP leadership is also involved.

There’s only one thing for it, vote the GOP and Drumpf out of office in 2020 and make sure that Drumpf isn’t allowed to make good on his threats against those that “illegally” and “treasonous” have tried to investigate him.

  8. MSNBC – There’s speculating all over the news channels regarding the Mueller report.
Now with stinking A. G. bArr having his mixed up kiss tRump’s as* editing, who knows when and what will be released to us.
If what Lona states about the bi*tch mItch, I’m sure there is going to be a whole lot fighting over this report.
I know they were saying the repugs are telling the Democrats, that they need to forget about it, let it go and move forward. I hate to tell them we aren’t going to do that.
We have rights to what it has to say.
Plus of tRump is so innocent, then what does he have to hide???
    Hope you appointment went well.

  9. 07Too many people have went to jail for something NOT to be UP!!
If things were right they wouldn’t be in Jail. Something sure may have been hidden

  10. Thanks and pooped Hugs to all. 17

  11. Puzzle — 4:03  Thank goodness Lona to the rescue!  No birdie fricassee tonight!

MSNBC — While Mueller may not have had the definitive evidence to ensure a conviction, I am sure that most of us here know Trump is as guilty as sin.  Why such continuous outcries of “witch hunt” if he were not guilty?  Of course one reason might have been to stoke his base, but that is not his only reason.  Another is distraction from other things going on, like the wall.  Ari Melber, whom I like, points out that, even though Trump has claimed total vindication or exoneration (Trump’s word), the fight is not over as there are still investigations in the House, by the NY AG and by the SDNY.  As I read from one online commentator, “Hold on.  It’s going to be a bumpy ride.”

    Cartoon —  Yup!!!

I hope your meeting was successful.  I might be making everybody envious with this, but the flowering trees have started to bloom.  I have seen some magnolia trees out and also some cherry trees — clear indications that spring has arrived.

  12. He is right. Still, there is still much more story to be written.

  13. Thank you for the information, take care all,and I hope that your teeth are in a more comfortable state!!🤗
