Feb 282019
I got to bed late, slept poorly, feel groggy and need to take the day off.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today’s took me 4:26 (average 5:49). To do it, click here. How did you do?
Short Take:
From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Michael Cohen Friend: Testimony Was ‘Peek Inside The Criminal Enterprise’
Is the Fuhrer toast or what? RESIST!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
MSNBC: I was captivated by Cohen's testimony, while the repugs blithered and blathered all the while, over nonsensical behavior and shameless grandstanding over Cohen's convicted felons.
Kudos to the freshmen congresswomen who also questioned Cohen, (under or at their five minutes), Reps Alexandria OcasioCortez, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, and Katie Hill. They are all keepers!
Also the closing remarks from Mr. Cummings was worth noting….here's the clip

Boy, it sure was a 'smoking gun, but more like smoke from a fired cannon, imho.
Hope that you get your rest, stay warm, and hydrated too. Enjoy your day/evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.
*This just in: (from yesterday) – Rep Gosar: "You are a pathological liar. You don't know the truth from faslehood." Michael Cohen: "Are you referring to me or the President?" ~ cnn ~
I too was touched by Representative Cummings remarks. He is a treasure.
Rep. Cummings spoke eloquently!
Thanks for posting Elijah Cummings' closing remarks, Pat. A formidable man whom I greatly respect.
Thanks, Joanne, Nameless and Lona.
I got choked up listening to him, worthy of Truth and Dignity!!
I enjoyed Cummings remarks when I watched the hearing. Thanks for the link.
Of course, Tom! Thank YOU for all YOU do !!!
We keep waiting and waiting and waiting for the weapon that will do in tRump, the magic sword to slay the ogre. Or, in this case, the magic smoking gun. Or the magic check.
The cartoon reveals an interesting irony: Once upon a time, Republicans were liberals!
Cartoon: Once upon a time I could actually have a civilized conversation with a Republican. That no longer happens.
Hope you get some rest today!
I know waht you mean.
A fellow I know is a friend of a Republican something-or-other in town. They go to dinner with some frequency, platonically. He told me, yesterday, that she is going to resign her post, as she is sickened by the garbage the Republicans spew whenever they get together.
It makes me sad and frustrated that so many otherwise decent people feel the way they do.
5:55 No rules.
Petition to expel Matt "Witness Intimidating Drunk Driver" Gaetz from the House.
Yes, it's more than a year in advance. But the Census Bureau has got the procedures mapped out. Here's what to expect.
Sorry to hear you lost your Secretary of State to cancer. Apparently he was competent – no guarantee the Republican Gov. Brown will be required to appoint will be competent. Best of luck.
Lawrence – You know, the head of the, what is it, Senate Intelligence Committee, who remarked that he had not "seen any direct evidence" of collusion – You know, direct evidence is evidence by testimony from witnesses who observed the crime[s], and it hit me today, reading snarky things Republicans present at the hearing, the the reason they :have not seen direct evidence" is that they discount any evidence from anyone under indictment for lying -and that way, they will NEVER have to see any direct evidence! Fortunately, that check – THAT check – is not direct but circumstantial evidence.
Cartoon – Yeah. Freya confessed yesterday to having once been a Republican. It's OK, Freya. I was a Democrat while we still had Dixiecrats in the party. That may be just as bad or worse.
Petition signed!
Petition signed.
Petiton signed.
Thanks
yvw, and thanks to all.
Richardson obtained his office by dishonorable means, an 11th hour bogus scandal, so I shall not grieve his passing. I wish the law dis not require Kate to replace him with a Republican.
Hey, i like the idea of that cheque being printed on toilet paper!!! ?
And the plot thickens…. this is so much fun! ? (<<< got ma pop-corn!)
Rest up dear TC ?
"Smoking gun," and so much more! GOPIGGIES looking more, and more like fools! It is getting to be fun. On another note, Drumph has shown himself, in Korea, to be "Mr. Can't Negotiate Himself Out Of A Shoebox!"
Still, impeachment may go down in flames, if it happens without sufficient votes in the Senate! The all HELL really breakes loose!!!!! We may just have to really, really rally around whomever the Dem candidate is, in 2020….RESIST until then!
I'd say we always have to rally around whoever the Dem candidate is. Even if we could eliminate gerrymandering soon, it could take DECADES to get past brainwashing. If we even have that long! I mean as a party – I'm sure I personally don't.
TC, take good care our our favorite CATPERSON!
I watched the hearing in it's entirety. The Dems got a lot of very useful info for more investigations. The Republithugs were an embarassment to watch. They are definitely deeply in bed with the orange ogre.
Rest up, stay warm and I hope you feel better tomorrow.
I had appointments yesterday, but seen parts off and on. Had no respect for he repugs who were speaking such trash to Cohen.
Crying that he was keeping them away from their real work…yeah, right.
Agree with Pat that I liked the questions asked by the various Democrats. Feel that they got a lot of important information that they can research and find more evidence about the idiot tRump.
Plus truly agree with Mr. Cummings closing remarks 100%. Pray that we can accomplish what he said about our world needing to be turned around and get it back into a some sort of normal. direction, ..something we currnetly not doing all thanks to the idiot tRump and his evil cronies.
Cartoon::Agree with Freya.
I hope you have a better night. I woke up 2 AM and couldn't get back to sleep. So I can relate to you feeling groggy.
Bottom Line – Having Watched the Cohen Hearing:
So far, I haven’t seen a rethuglican willing to step up and honor his/her oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic"
Certainly none in Congress. A few in the Justice Department (some of whom are no longer employed there.
Puzzle — 4:37 Well I did not quite measure up, did I?
MSNBC — I was watching Cohen's testimony while I was at physio Wednesday afternoon, alternating with the testimony of our former Justice Minister/Attorney General, Judy Wilson-Reybould, who has accused the prime minister of obstruction of justice in the SNC Lavalin case. There is no doubt that Cohen showed the smoking gun . . . or is it the smoking cheque? And Republicans, what a bunch of lame-assed morons,
Cartoon — And Republicans like to remind people they are the party of Lincoln. So deceptive! It is in name only, but not ideals and philosophy!
Wednesday was a bummer — It started with a flat tire that turned into a $1K repair bill. No wonder I have a headache today. And today was very busy too. I could sleep for a month I think! Yesterday and today were beautiful but we are heading into some more snow. It was reported that February was the coldest February in decades. Hope you are warming up and getting lots of rest. Goodnight and sweet dreams all.
Oh, dear. I can relate. See my note in today (Friday)'s open thread or update. Not a good week for several of us.
4:00 I work better in centimeters, though.
I didn't get to see any of Cohen's testimony due to the time difference and a very full itinerary, so thank you for the much needed update, TomCat. It was suggested here in the Netherlands that Drumpf left the negotioations with Kum Jung-un early because he was sitting on hot coal, wanting to watch the testimony. Must be some truth in that. ?
Take good care of yourself, TomCat.
Thanks and tired frustrated hugs.
