I suppose I’d better weigh-in, lest it appear that I’m evading it. Race traitor Jussie Smollett no longer deserves to call himself a Democrat. Since he is acting like a Republican, he has become a Republican. RESIST!! RETRACTION! Jussie Smollett has been cleared. I apologize.
From Washington Post: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) and her fellow House Democrats just introduced a resolution to terminate President Trump’s national emergency. In coming days, the resolution will likely pass the House, setting in motion a process that will force a Senate vote on it. Either Senate Republicans will side with Trump, or they’ll pass the measure, after which Trump will veto it.
This represents a small challenge to Trump’s corruption and lies — to his corruption of our institutions and political system with autocratic and authoritarian conduct, and to the deep rot of bad faith at the core of his willingness to declare a national emergency to build his wall based on false pretenses and invented metrics.
The move probably won’t succeed in terminating the emergency. But it points to something we need to see a lot more of: discussion of concrete proposals and actions designed to fortify our institutions and democracy against Trump’s ongoing degradations of them, and to restore confidence in them once Trump is gone.
I fully support this move. If nothing else, it forces Republicans, who have claimed it was Trump, not them, to go on record or be exposed. RESIST!!

Great Ceiling Cat! Well, it does go to show how successful Republicans have been in training (brainwashing) their base to accept crooks and felons in public office. Here;s an article on how they did that.
Oh, wow. Now THIS is how it’s done.
Fox – As McCabe and several who have interviewed him have pointed out, if it were a coup, whould McCabe have notified Congress (the “gang of eight”)? And NO ONE objected in the slightest – not even Devin Nunes, the mole.
CNN – He made no friends, that’s for sure. Not of any color at all.
WaPo – I agree with you, with the caveat in order for them to “be exposed,” its necessary for their votes to be made public specifically to the public that voted for them. The public that gets its news from sources which will not touch this information. Somehow we need to get past that block, on this and other issues.
Cartoon – Poor pootie! And now you need a real soap-and-water bath! The agony!
Shame on Smollett! His crying wolf hurts real victims of real hate crimes. His career is over – he’d better learn to say “Would you like fries with that?” and really mean it.
I hope that Pelosi’s resolution succeeds. I have been contacting my Congress critters and telling them to oppose tRump’s phony national emergency. We all need to keep calling, signing petitions, and protesting – whatever we can do.
MMC: The sheeple have been groomed, inadvertently, over the decades, by Nixon’s twistedness, Reagan’s lies and deceits, and then those of G.W.B., to expect less and less truth, more and more distance from ethics and morals, and, in the mix, pure BS from Faux News. No one saw Drumph coming, saw him as a serious contender, until it was too late, and he just slipped into the stream of lying, rode the current to office. The GOP, along the way, practiced their own version of “Fake News,” such as Newt denying the reality of Acid Rain, the concept of “Trickle Down Economics,” and so on. Roger Ailes, once of GWB’s administration, Hannity, and the other bozos at Faux Horsepooh have fed them an alternative reality, that feeds on their bigoted, greedy perspectives, and they see it all as just another day in the sandbox.
CNN: I have no use for the personality disordered “Stars” among us!

Pelosi’s Resolution to terminate Twitler’s “national emergency” provides each Rethuglican an opportunity to display his/her own actual “Profile in Courage”.
Not holding my breath – but it’s there for the taking.

WP: I know this will pass in the house. It will be interesting to see what the republicans do in the senate. If they don’t go through with it, we will know that they have been totally bought off by the orange ogre.

CNN: It’s a shame all of the crap that Jussie Smollett brought on to himself, all because he wanted attention and wanted more pay for each show that he taped. Like $68,000. wasn’t good enough. What ever happened to just letting your manager talk with the producers of the show? Well I hope he’s happy now, because he’s ruined his future now; Pure stupidity.
WP: I give Nancy lots of credit for coming up with this proposal. with the help of other Democrats. I like that she is pushing this issue and hopefully they will be successful and pulling it through.
CNN: Smollett discredited the African-American community as well as the LGBTQ community with his incredibly stupid and selfish hoax and he couldn’t have done Republicans a greater favour. Not even Republicans would have him join the GOP.
WP: This proposal, and the process surrounding it, is a good move by the Democrats. Get politics out of the dark chambers in the back and out in the open again. Even if the resolution doesn’t make it, the public is made aware of what’s happening and Representatives and Senators are forced to admit to where they stand on it. Excellent.
