It’s another busy day here in the CatBox.  Anymore, just preparing my articles, squeezed in at an angle with a bent keyboard tray makes a day busy.  Things are about to get interesting.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:09 (average 4:36).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Media Matters Channel): Fox figures repeatedly urged Trump to shut down the government over border wall funding

Barf Bag Alert!!

Fuhrer Drumpfenfarten shut it down to please the idiots at the Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda, Faux Noise! RESIST!!

From Vox: House Democrats have released their new proposal to change rules for how the House of Representatives conducts its business for the next two years — and there’s a lot in it.

Democrats are doing a number of things to decentralize power from leadership and open up the process of legislating.

The rules package is an important statement that shows what issues Democrats are elevating in their first few weeks of the session and how they intend to govern over the next two years. Basically, Democrats are trying to show they will behave much differently than House Republicans have over the past eight years.

With public trust in Congress at historic lows, Democrats are taking a number of steps to strengthen ethics rules and bring back regular order to the legislative process — giving bills with broad bipartisan support a chance to go through committee even if they don’t have leadership’s blessing.

Under the Republican Reich, no Bill could make it to the floor without the support of the Republican leadership, and the majority of the Congressional Reich. The Democratic Rules are how the House is supposed to be run. However, Pay-Go must be removed from the rules. RESIST!!

From Daily Kos: Two federal workers and their union have filed a lawsuit against the government over the wages they’re losing during Donald Trump’s shutdown. Justin Tarovisky and Grayson Sharp work in the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and they’re still on the job as essential employees during the shutdown:

“They’re working a dangerous job, they’re critically understaffed, and now, they don’t know when they’ll next get paid,” [attorney Heidi Burakiewicz] said, adding that “essential” employees will continue incurring the costs of commuting to work, such as gas and child care. Without knowing how long the shutdown will last, many workers may be forced to make challenging choices.

"They may be paycheck to paycheck, have cellphone bills, mortgages. … It’s unacceptable for any employer, but especially for the U.S. government,” Burakiewicz contended.

A similar lawsuit by the same attorney was successful during the 2013 shutdown … but 25,000 federal workers are still waiting for the damages they’re entitled to, after an appeals process that ended just last year.

Frankly, they should sue the Republican Party and Faux Noise. RESIST!!

In case you forgot, Mooseolini is Sarah Palin, aka Bloody Bullseye Barbie, aka Drill Baby Dingbat.

  1. 4:17 Have we seen this before? I remember some like it, but not this exact one.

MM – The Coultergeist was very blatant about this … and so was Hannity. (And they lost the country a while ago, for keeps.)

Vox – I agree, Pay-Go must Go-Go. I suspect it actually could be reformed into something that would work – take all social programs off the table, fr instance – but, even ten, there would be problems. Despite Republican scamming, there is a reason for every part of the Federal Government to exist.

How about sue the Republican Party, Fox News, and Lou Dobbs, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, and Mitch McConnell personally. I would say Trump personally also, but they wouldn’t get paid from that, ever.

Cartoon – Yeah. There’s also a Mango Mussolini who thinks he is already dictator … or King.

  2. Thanx TC

  3. I’ve been doing my part for HB1 with petitions promoted on Care2 – and for ending the idiotic shutdown by doing the same. I will definitely contact my (so-called) representatives in Congress about those issues, too.

  4. MM: If he can’t make a decision w/o these ids, & faux news, I question his moral and mental integrity, (always have questioned that), and who he is supposed to work for, which is the American people. btw…we don’t watch faux, it’s verboten here.

Vox: Glad that the Dems are getting this out. It will serve them well now, and in the future.

DK: What Joanne said, sue them all. Every stinking one of them !!!

Cartoon: dt wants to be one so bad too. ugh!!!

Gee, sorry about your posting your posts like that. It doesn’t read well, wish it could be better for you. Hope that you can relax, and enjoy your evening. Take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: “Patriotism is not obedience to the Government. Patriotism is obedience to the Principles for which the government is supposed to stand.” ~ Howard Z. ~

  5. MM: He brought it on all himself and still blames everyone else. What a total idiot!
Vox: Good for them..Start off fresh.
DK: Glad to hear it. Hope others workers join in the fight. Wishing the success.

  6. 3:28 (average 4:36) You can tell it’s inedible; it has a kebab sign on a hamburger.

MM: Anyone still wondering who is really running the country?

Vox: Keeping fingers crossed that all will abide by the new rules and people dare to trust their Representatives to do what they voted them in for: legislate and help the country move forward.

DK: Hm, if people are still waiting for their shutdown compensation from five years back, taking the government to court again may have a lot of symbolic meaning, but doesn’t get anyone food on the table.

Cartoon: El Duce, Hitler’s pal whom everyone always forgets about. Hitler and his cronies could never have done what they did without Mussolini and his minions.

  7. Puzzle — 3:26  Yes JD, we have had this one previously but don’t ask me when.  That is beyond my ken.

Media Matters — Little Donnie Diaper just wants to be loved because he missed it as a child.  He has replaced his mother with Faux Noise and the likes of Ann Coulter, Lou Dobbs and Sean Hannity.

Vox — Micro managing is rarely a prudent MO.  I think Pelosi’s rules will make for a stronger government.

Daily Kos — The only ones winning are lawyers . . . certainly not the aggrieved.

Cartoon — Mooseolini would love to be queen, but Trump?  His authoritarian self would love to be the ultimate rule maker.

    • You were doing them long enough before I started that there’s always a possibility that you have seen something I haven’t.  But there’s also always a possibility that I have forgotten.  Thanks for the info.

  8. Thanks and tired hugs! 19
