This is Joanne’s eighth Big Mouth award. She earned her first in September 2013, her second in March 2015, her third in May 2015, her fourth in July, 2016, her fifth in October, 2016, her sixth in September, 2017, and her seventh in February 2018. I predict there are more coming. I know JD comments far more than I do.
A denizen of Care2, she came to us from there, and is now part of management. She’s super-smart, witty a political junky, an activist for all kinds of human rights, and a proud Marine Corps Vet. I have had occasion to correspond with her, and she faces some major issues in her life with exceptional dignity and grace.

Sometimes I don’t know how I manage the column myself. But I can tell you how I manage the extras. I keep a txt file permanently on my desktop set up to the open thread comment format and as I go through news on my own, I add anything I see to it – then when I come to respond, I’m already prepared. Sometimes there’s a lot, sometimes nothing, and sometimes great minds fall in the same ditch and I end up deleting a link.
