Store to Door delivered my groceries earlier.  They screwed them up so badly, that I’m trying to get ahold of WWWendy to make an emergency stop on the way here tonight.  Keep your eyes on DOJ.  Jeff Sessions (R-KKK) just resigned.  Tomorrow, please expect no more than a Personal Update.  I have a routine semi-annual appointment with my Pulmonologist.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:05 (average 5:27).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Oregonian Channel): Kate Brown talks to reporters after re-election

Here in Oregon, I got everything I wanted, except for 1 House Seat that is perennially red. RESIST!!

From YouTube (Robert Reich Channel): Robert Reich: It’s Time for Medicare for All

Of course the Reich on the left, Robert Reich, is right, and the Reich on the right, the Republican Reich, wants to push Granny off a cliff. We can pass it in the House next year. The Republicans will vote it down in the Senate and be on record for doing so. RESIST!!

From Alternet: President Donald Trump sent out a celebratory tweet Tuesday night after it became clear that his party would maintain control of the U.S. Senate — but completely ignoring the fact that Democrats have won control of the House of Representatives.

As CNN’s Wolf Blitzer was giving the president for the win, Jake Tapper cut in to throw cold water on the celebration.

"Let’s just cut through that for a second," Tapper said. "He just lost the House."

"But he did manage to hold on to the Senate," said Blitzer.

"I know. And mavel tov," said Tapper. "But the bottom line is: This is not a good night for President Trump. The Democrats have just retaken the House, and they’re going to have subpoena power, and they’re going to make his life a living hell."

I can’t wait! RESIST!!

  1. 7:47 Blasted scoop.

It looks like Colorado made a clean sweep of Governor/Lt Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Treasurer. This is quite an accomplishment in a state where Democrats are really, really bad at voting the whole ticket. Also, we appear to have pushed Mike Coffman (R) out of District 6. The results are not yet certified, but by the numbers counted, as reported by CPR, they look solid. But I can hardly rejoice with the happy dance if we lose Beto, Andrew, and J.D., and Stacy has a runoff. On the (CO) ballot measure side, Constitutional amendments to have independent commissions do our redistricting passed one for congressional districts, and one for state house/senate districts.

Oh, yeah, and only 271 emails.

From USA Today: “And if Democrats really want to sting the president, they can invite him to deliver his State of the Union message in written form only. Although the Constitution requires the chief executive to give Congress “information of the State of the Union,” it says nothing about an oral address, much less the television extravaganza that it has become.
Until President Woodrow Wilson, most presidents just sent over a written message. It would be a break with tradition to deny the president access to the House floor, but this president has himself shredded many norms and traditions. This step would remind him that his behavior has consequences.”

OR – Kudos! Both our states now have openly gay governors – at least mine will inJanuary when he’s sworn in.

    Reich – Of course.

AlterNet – And Don Jr. is expecting an indictment. Yay! Let’s not go off the deep end just yet with what we’re going to do – let’s make a strategy that we can achieve.

    Cartoon – Big, big grin.

  2. OC: Wonderful & Congratulations!!!

    RR: Absolutely!!! It’s our Right!

    AN: Clap! Clap! Clap!!!

    Cartoon: YAY!!!!!!

Best to you, to and from your appt. Hope it goes well. Shame about your grocery mess-up too. That’s awful. Take good care, and enjoy your evening, and Thanks, Tom.

This just in: “Maxine Waters is the new Chair of the House Financial Services Committee, and can now subpoena Trump’s back records.” ~Candra L. ~

  3. Oregon:  Cool!
RRC: ‘Care for all sway overdue!
Alternet: He knows he lost the House, that’s why Sessions is out.  The stuff is about to hit the fan!
Joann: Now, wouldn’t that be loverly?!
    ‘Toon: The unmitigated nerve!

  4. OC:  Kudos to your state TomCat.

RRC:  Reich is correct.  We need Medicare for all.

Alternet:  Way to go Jake Tapper.

    Toon:  Love it!

I’m sorry about your grocery debacle.  Hopefully WWWendy will make things right for you.  Good luck tomorrow with your Dr. appointment.

  5. Oregon: Great news.Reich: Yes to that.AlterNet: I pray that the Democrats do get to tRump and slap him good with ll sorts of subpoenas. Cartoon: Good one.Good luck at your Pulmonologist tomorrow.

  6. OC: Congratulations to Oregon and to its Democratic voters. BTW, It’s good to have a few seats taken by an opposition party or some independents; ruling by absolute majority isn’t democratic either and it can corrupt too.

RR: Medicare for all is the only answer. Start working on it while you have the house and SHOW you’re working on it and how it BENEFITS 90+% of the people, Democrats. You need the momentum in 2020.

Alternet: Can’t wait for Tapper’s to come true. Let the subpoena’s start coming.

Cartoon: And with a little less gerrymandering those Democratic voters might have reped even better results.

  7. Puzzle — 5:19  My teeth are saluting right now because there is so much sugar!

The Oregonian — Good on Oregon, and as JD mentioned, Colorado.  Both states now have openly gay governors which if those decisions stand, is absolutely positive for diversity.  Such positions should be based on qualifications, such qualifications not being determined by sexual orientation, race, gender, age etc.  Now we need to get Stacy Abrams of Georgia into the governor’s mansion.

Robert Reich — With Democrats in control of the House, they are most likely to pass Medicare for all but it will be nixed by the Republican Senate.  Given the strength of voter support for such, Republicans will quickly take on the mantle of not supporting policies that support the middle, poor and working class citizens.  I can see Diaper Don losing some of his support.  And it seems that 3 states have expanded Medicaid as a result of the election.  Diaper Don is already threatening Democrats if they fail to play his kind of nice.  DD is such a loser!

AlterNet — “”But the bottom line is: This is not a good night for President Trump. The Democrats have just retaken the House, and they’re going to have subpoena power, and they’re going to make his life a living hell.”” — Bring it on!  DD is not above the law, although he is threatening the Democrats.

Cartoon — That is no conspiracy theory.  It is a fact, something of which DD knows nothing!

    Good luck at the doctor’s!
