Between 175 – 64 BC, Antiochus IV, King of Syria, sacrificed a pig to Zeus on the Jewish alter of the temple in Jerusalem, an act called the “abomination of desolation”. With that in mind, few things are more offensive to Jews than bringing a pig into a Synagogue. Nevertheless, a pig plans to do that very thing, despite thousands of requests to stay away, because he wants to use Tree of Life Synagogue for a campaign appearance about an hour or two from now.
Still reeling from the horror and grief after Saturday’s massacre at the Tree of Life synagogue, Pittsburgh is now dealing with something else: the barbed politics of the 2018 midterms and widespread opposition to President Trump’s plan to visit here Tuesday.
Jewish leaders said that President Trump was not welcome in Pittsburgh and accused him of stirring up extremism.
Mayor William Peduto, who strongly rejected Mr. Trump’s suggestion that armed guards in houses of worship are the answer to violence, warned that the president would be a distraction from funerals taking place Tuesday.
Many in the Jewish community in Pittsburgh cited what they saw as the president’s divisive rhetoric, which they feel had a role in enabling the violence here, as well as other recent episodes including the mail bombs sent from Florida to prominent Democratic figures and what appears to be the racial killing of two black shoppers near Louisville, Ky. Interviews in Florida reflected a similar urgency and unease about the intersection of violence in American life and the looming midterm elections…. [emphasis added]

Rachel thought the White House staff would pull the plug, but if they tried, he wouldn’t listen. He’s in the plane on the way. I hope Mayor Peduto does not pull a single cop off security for the funerals to protect Trump. He faces little risk. Unlike Republican Domestic Terrorists, who commit mass murder all too often, Democrats pull out the guns only to shoot ourselves in the foot.
I pray that the pig does not cause more pain to the grieving families.

The synagogue should take his suggestion of stationing armed guards and use them to keep him out. Not that it would be the first time a murderer went to a victim’s funeral, but generally when that happens there is at most suspicion of guilt. Here there is certainty.

He’s void of any emotions or caring about others, and these folks in Pittsburgh and around the world are feeling their pain, and reeling from the loss of their loved ones.

He’s exactly what I had been saying all along, he’s a heartless bas*ard. He does exactly the opposite of what people ask of him. Shows no respect to people, no matter what the crisis is.
That picture is absolutely revolting. And a perfect depiction of an even more revolting human being. There’s only one thing wrong with it: pigs are very intelligent animals and most likely capable of more compassion than Drumpf. So pigs should rightly feel offended by having been morphed into one with him.
Two thousand people took to the streets of Pittsburgh to protest Drumpf coming to their city and visiting their community’s synagogue, but he couldn’t care less. It only got him more of the attention he so desperately craves.

This is ALL politics, and politics at its worst! Nothing matters more than the midterms and holding on to Republican power. Diaper Don does not have one ounce of compassion in his body. His only concern is how to turn a situation to his advantage. Everything is about him.

Pharrell Williams decries Trump’s playing “Happy” at rally without permission hours after synagogue shooting!!!
The singer, 45, sent a cease-and-desist letter to Trump after the president played Williams’ 2014 smash hit “Happy” at a political event in the Midwest Saturday, just hours after nearly a dozen people were gunned down in a Pittsburgh synagogue.
“There was nothing ‘happy’ about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no permission was granted for your use of this song for this purpose,” the letter read, …. “Demand is hereby made that you cease and desist from any further unauthorized use of Pharrell Williams’ music.”
Williams’ legal team noted that the use of the song was not only poorly timed, but in violation of “copyright infringement” and “trademark rights.”

Pharrell Williams’ song “Happy” is a beautiful celebration of multiculturalism and happiness. Maybe Trump was “happy” about the rise of deadly intolerance, but how disgusting that Trump misappropriated this beautiful song to rile up his deplorables hours after the synagogue massacre.
How do Jewish leaders know that Trump is not welcome in Pittsburgh?
5,000 – 7,000 protesters in groups large enough to make his motorcade turn around is fairly good evidence.
They circulated a petition and over 75,000 signed it in hours. Also, they mayor said so too.
